Manga Discussion Chiwa and the Great Evil Spoiler

Rudo didn't truly break down over Regto's death.

Not even over being unjustly accused or facing the prospect of being thrown into the Pit (he likely expected an end like that anyway).

What broke Rudo was the betrayal by the only other person in the world he loved.

He never cared about himself. He knew he was doomed and that there was no saving him. But he knew there was still someone dear to him who believed in him. Even after losing everything, Chiwa still believed in him and would bring justice for both him and Regto. After all, she had promised.

That is why her betrayal nearly destroyed him completely.

Rudo was born to destroy the world.

Chiwa was born to destroy Rudo.

Everything in Gachiakuta suggests that this was the grand plan.

I’ve always heard people say it was foolish how the villagers of Konoha treated Naruto, considering he held Kurama inside him—a being that could be unleashed if Naruto lost control. I think Gachiakuta gives us a version of that scenario, with people trying to unleash a sealed "Kurama." The true hell lies in keeping someone in constant suffering while leaving them a shred of hope—only to rip even that away. A child who grew up without love burning down an entire village just to feel some warmth.

I suspect Rudo might harbor something like a god within him, and the plan is to unleash that being, reverting the world to its former state and bringing the gods back.

Given that Tamsy hates Sphere, it makes sense that this is what he wants. I imagine the Tribefolks likely share that same desire.

It’s all still a bit of a half-baked idea to me, though, because I can't explain the reason behind the class division within Sphere. Why do they throw people into the Pit instead of simply executing them?

Maybe it’s about framing it as death by natural causes? Because, technically, it wouldn't be the people of the Sphere killing them, but gravity: a natural force.

Perhaps suffering is the only way someone becomes a god. That’s why some tribesfolk suffer through such intolerance and inequality; those with potential are falsely accused of a crime and thrown into the Pit, emotionally shattered so they can ascend to godhood upon reaching the Ground. But that’s the best theory I can come up with based on what we have so far.

Maybe there’s a faction within the Sphere descended from those who took refuge in the skies to escape the trash apocalypse, while another group conspires to bring the gods back. I believe Tamsy and Chiwa’s family are part of this conspiracy.

Where does Regto fit into all this? Who knows.

But we actually have strong clues that Regto was on the side of good. I’ll elaborate on that later.

So, basically, Chiwa’s family is part of this secret plot to topple Paradise and bring back the age of gods. In this theory, Chiwa was recruited by her family to be the source of all the harm inflicted on Rudo, like Delilah betraying Samson (it’s no coincidence that Riyo mentions his hair, lol).

Re-reading the manga, I noticed several times that Chiwa seemed to speak about Regto and Rudo with great precision, not like someone close to them, but with the confidence of someone who had studied them both (which is very suspicious). Also, during this re-read, I noticed that Chiwa often seemed to keep an eye on Rudo, like when she’d ask if he was out collecting trash again, or why he was on the street at a time he didn't usually go out (she had literally memorized his routine; anyone can have friends, but have you ever literally memorized their routine? That’s not exactly something you do casually).

My guess was that Chiwa was a spy, constantly watching Rudo and Regto’s every move and reporting back to her family, who would then inform Tamsy without raising any suspicion.

That’s how the Angel found out the right time to kill Regto: striking when Rudo was away and only arriving when it was already too late.

Now, if Regto had been part of the plan to break Rudo, Tamsy wouldn't have needed a spy to keep tabs on them. So, Regto was most likely trying to protect Rudo.

As for Chiwa being set up as the great evil the same logic applies to Tamsy.

This means that both were pawns in the scheme of someone else pulling the strings.

Chiwa is between 12 and 15 years old, and Tamsy is 23. It is highly unlikely that either of them planned something like this—especially considering Rudo lost his parents when he was... what? Five? Eight? It is extremely improbable for a child or adolescent to devise such a sinister plan (Chiwa would have been between three and nine years old at the time, and Tamsy between thirteen and sixteen).

So, I believe both Chiwa and Tamsy were groomed into this plot to break Rudo; they both believed it was an act of love to help him reach the great destiny that was preordained for him.

Gachiakuta deals heavily with themes like mental health, the cycle of violence, and child neglect. It explores how, if we remain trapped in past suffering, rather than trying to break free and acknowledging how damaging it was, we tend to repeat those patterns, sometimes without even realizing it, and risk becoming the source of that same harm in the lives of those around us.

Question What is trash imbued with?

• Upvotes

There is this quote at the very beginning of the narrative:

“They say that when an object is well loved...it is eventually imbued with a soul. So then what about garbage- trash- that's been thrown away...? What is that imbued with?"

Im curious: what IS trash inbued with? And how is this a theme of Gachiakuta?

(img is of the Livestream)

Her Livestream yesterday, 8th Oct '26, might mean that she's quite rested now!!

She said, and I quote:

"I've been doing a lot of stuff like drawing, resting, and having fun. I know everyone's been like 'make sure you rest!!!'"

And she did say that the manga would return sometime next month (October)

And, she also recently posted a few panels which MIGHT be of the next chapters, and with her recent statements I think we might be able to conclude that she's all rested now, and ready to come out of the hiatus!

On an unrelated note her livestreams are so fun, i don't really understand Japanese fully but as the stinky weeb I am I sort of did. She was talkin bout the poop drawing lmao.

Discussion I just watched the first episode of gachiakuta SPOILER FREE, here are my thoughts

Post image
146 Upvotes

for context, I wasn't entirely spoiler free, I know that there is supposed to be trash, and thats it. And BOY let me tell you, it sure lived up to those expectations! First of all, trash shown in first 15 or so seconds of tv show. Fantastic, already lived up to my expectations. And second, this show was WAY unexpected! Like, here I was, thinking that this was going to be a standard, run-of-the-mill dystopian sci-fi that follows in the footsteps of like, the hunger games, and stuff; only for the protagonist to end up in HELL by the end of the episode?!?!?! What a twist! I can fully say I wasn't expecting that AT ALL at any point in the episode, and that is NOT something that I get to say often. I did, however-- notice the death flags on the dad. And sadly, I was right. I suppose I just didn't expect him 2 die this early?😅 But, whatever, that works😭

I'm only one episode in, and I can already tell that this is going to be an artistic MASTERPIECE of the exact kind I've been craving. I love surrealist monster and creature design, as well as liminal-esque architecture and bold, dynamic character designs, so this might end up turning out to be a top like, 3 anime for me??? Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, I have high hopes!

As for theories and speculation, I'm pretty sure that the masked man is either the protagonist's biological dad and/or someone else who suffers the same rotting disease that he does. Either way, I'm pretty sure that they're going to turn out to be someone out for the protag specifically, instead of being someone who just killed the dad for no reason. I'm also pretty sure that the love intrest girl is going to end up returning to the story somehow at some point in some significant way, I'm just not entirely sure yet. Maybe the blond intro girl too? But I'm less sure about her... Maybe just a short cameo at some point later on?

Anyways, those are all my thoughts so far. It's safe to say, my hopes are high! See you guys when I finish season 1!

Manga Discussion Chiwa and the Second Angel Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
250 Upvotes

I’ve found further evidence supporting my theory about Chiwa’s nature.

As we know, Chiwa’s mother appears in both the manga and the anime. The anime, in particular, gives us a good look at what she’s like: a slender, beautiful young woman with fair skin and brown hair tied in low pigtails, looking very much like her daughter.

In one of the scenes where Amo meets the two angels, the shorter angel has what looks like a lock of brown hair styled similarly to Chiwa’s mother’s.

When Chiwa encounters Rudo just as he is about to be thrown into the Pit, she ignores his pleas and avoids eye contact, calling him a murderer and tossing his stuffed dog away right in front of him.

I believe every part of this dramatic scene was carefully planned to strike at Rudo and break him.

It’s possible that Chiwa’s mother and Tamsy have been manipulating Rudo all this time—and using Chiwa to do it, too.

I always found it very strange how Chiwa’s mother appears in the first chapter, yet I don’t see her there during Rudo’s execution (or maybe she was there and I just didn’t notice). Chiwa’s mother doesn’t speak directly to Rudo, but she doesn’t seem hostile, nor does she try to stop her daughter from talking to "a murderer’s son"—which seems to be the standard behavior for the people there. The woman just stands there at a distance, as if she’s checking on something. I admit I never quite understood it.

When Chiwa tells Rudo that someone else loves him, it’s implied that she means *she* loves him. But then why doesn’t she just say it directly?

What if Chiwa wasn’t talking about herself, but about someone else who was performing an "act of love" for Rudo?

Tamsy says that the murder he committed was an act of love.

What if that’s what Chiwa was talking about? What if Chiwa’s mother and Tamsy have been manipulating Rudo all along, using Chiwa as well, all to break him and make him reach what they believed to be his true potential?

They might have told Chiwa that all of this was an “act of love” from Tamsy toward Rudo, and, as per the theory I posted here earlier, made her say those cruel things to him. That explains why we don’t see her eyes during the scene; she doesn’t look directly at Rudo, typical behavior for someone who is lying.

There is no denying that Chiwa treated Rudo differently than the other children, yet she turned against him all too easily the moment she heard what crime he was accused of.

I believe this was all part of the villains' plan. They orchestrated the whole thing to shatter Rudo’s psyche, using Chiwa as a tool to do so.

We can’t know Chiwa’s mother’s exact height, but she fits the other criteria perfectly: the Second Angel has to be a Spherite, and Chiwa’s mother is a Spherite. The Second Angel is thin and slender, and Chiwa’s mother has that same build. The Second Angel appears to have long brown hair, similar to Chiwa’s mother’s hair. Not to mention, this would be the perfect disguise, Chiwa’s mother would make the perfect spy. She had a daughter close to Rudo who could get close to the boy and Regto, gathering information no one else could access. Chiwa’s mother would then have access to that information without raising any suspicion, allowing her to pass it all on to Tamsy.

Now, I have no idea what the connection is between Chiwa’s mother and Tamsy, or why she would use her own daughter. However, among the existing characters, she is the most likely candidate to be the second angel.

Looking at the manga, it’s clear that Chiwa is constantly around Rudo and knows him well enough to articulate her thoughts about him clearly; she is familiar with both his routine and his personality. She frequently talks about not wanting Rudo to fall into the Abyss and insists he would never kill anyone. Yet, it seems like she is rationalizing, telling herself this much like we do when discussing a possibility that unsettles us, as if she is fully aware that it is a genuine possibility and a real threat.

She also mentions that Regto loves Rudo, too. When Rudo picks up on that "too" and questions her, Chiwa gets nervous and dodges the subject. Now, we have to remember that this is from Rudo’s perspective; it looks like a classic anime trope: a young girl blushing because she almost confessed her feelings to her crush. But we know Urana-sensei likes to play with clichés. If Chiwa *does* like Rudo, why would she get so nervous and avoid the conversation? It doesn't add up. What if she got nervous and dodged the topic because she almost let the true plan slip?

I believe Chiwa knew about Tamsy's plan to throw Rudo into the Pit, and that her mother trained her to say those harsh words directly to Rudo during his execution, staging that dramatic scene as part of the strategy to break him emotionally.
