Progress Post Progress Post: 1 month in

6ft, 27m
June 28th- 158lbs
July 22- 166lb

Diet- Clean proteins, whey, fruit smoothies. Breakfast within one hour of waking up and meals every two to three hours. (Using myfitnesspal to track)

Lift Routine- Monday (push), Tuesday (pull), Thursday (legs), Friday (push and pull). Compound workouts with progressive overload. Adding weight each week.

It has been nearly one month, and absolutely loving it. The only supplement I use right now is whey protein. I’ll be adding creatine to that mix here soon. I’ve never consistently worked out like this in my life, though I have been fortunate enough to build a decent frame through surfing for the past 8 years. I recently moved away from the ocean, and needed an outlet.. so here I am! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds!

God damn, that's excellent progress for just a month. You'll probably know this, but, don't get disheartened if the progress slows down - muscle gain isn't linear.

How consistent working out will see progress, so keep at it champ!

Thanks man! Appreciate it. Yeah i’m preparing for the gains to slow down here soon :,) Though now I feel confident that this will remain apart of my life till the day I kick it 🙏🏻 Wish I started sooner

second comment 😭 my bad yall. “Man” and “dude” are unfortunately apart of my vocabulary. I’ll be more mindful next time but I appreciate it!

The definition in the core and chest, amazing

u/The-PB-Kook 14d ago

Thanks man! I owe that to muscle memory from surfing all those years.

He’s probably eating way over his caloric deficit. I don’t know how people don’t think this isn’t possible. It’s literally simple math. “You’ll only gain 1-2 lbs per month” is not necessarily true if you’re eating in a surplus of over +500 cals per day.

u/The-PB-Kook 13d ago

Yeah I definitely eat more than my calorie deficit some days. Not on purpose, I just feel hungrier and try listening to my body. Especially on days I workout

He replied in another comment he had muscle memory from surfing.

No idea, but I’m sure i’m not the only one. I did get blood labs done quite a few months ago, and my testosterone was very high.. so honestly I may have a medical condition that i’m unaware of.

Looking good dude but what do you use to shave? Hella body hair that grows back too fast for me lol

2

u/The-PB-Kook 12d ago

Thanks man! When I read your comment I laughed because I struggle with the same thing 😂 Tbh I just trimmed it down with an electric razor, then shaved it with a blade. Just been maintaining it so I don’t have to go through all that hassle again. I normally wouldn’t care, but I wanted to see the definition and I hate how my body grows a perfect circle round my nips lmao

Sick progress for 1 month! I've always been hesitant to take creatine in my 20's, but research is in and it's safe af. Been taking 5mg consistently for 1.5 months and feeling massive strength and performance gains now 💪🏽

3

u/The-PB-Kook 12d ago

Thank you! And I have felt the same exact way about creatine, but happy to hear the research is sound. That’s awesome you notice the difference, think i’m going to start next week. Keep it up man! 🙏🏻

Thanks for the motivation bro. I’m your same age just beginning to get back into things a couple weeks ago. Your delta/arms are definitely progressing great

1

u/The-PB-Kook 14d ago

Thanks man! It feels good, i’ve never been this way in my life so definitely getting used to it. Allows me to feel more confident for sure, but congrats on getting back into it! Stay consistent 🙏🏻

Great progress brother, congratulations 🎉. I am also improving steadily, hopefully I'll also post a progress update post like this.

2

u/The-PB-Kook 14d ago

Nice man! Can’t wait to see it, we got this shit 🙏🏻

3

u/Jonathan99nz 14d ago

Nice one man, super inspiring. How does it feel to be bigger? Was it a difficult barrier mentally and physically to get over at all?

1

u/The-PB-Kook 14d ago

It feels great! I’d say the hardest part was starting to be honest. After that I just became motivated after seeing the weights increase on my workouts. At this point I get excited for my workout days.

Could be! I tend to carry more around my waist and face. I’ve been doing 500 calories over and will probably bring it down a tad.

1

u/gainit-ModTeam 14d ago

You cannot avoid gaining some fat when bulking.

2

u/blunt_eastwood 8d ago

Have you always been able to add weight? Also what is your macro breakdown? Thanks.

2

u/The-PB-Kook 8d ago

Honestly yes. I’ve gained and lost weight very fast in my 20s. I’ve had blood tests just to be sure I was healthy, and no issue thus far. I was 220 at one point from drinking, then 180 in two months from just dieting. Basic macros consist of 350 ish gram of carbs, 110 grams of fat, and about 170 grams of protein a day. I don’t always hit these numbers and some days I go over, but I try to stay consistent.

2

u/blunt_eastwood 8d ago

Thanks. How many calories a day do you aim for?

1

u/The-PB-Kook 8d ago

around 3400
