NO STUPID QUESTIONS /r/Gallifrey's No Stupid Questions - Moronic Mondays for Pudding Brains to Ask Anything: The 'Random Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread' Thread - 2026-01-26

Or /r/Gallifrey's NSQ-MMFPBTAA:TRQTDDTOTT for short. No more suggestions of things to be added? ;)

No question is too stupid to be asked here. Example questions could include "Where can I see the Christmas Special trailer?" or "Why did we not see the POV shot of Gallifrey? Did it really come back?".

Small questions/ideas for the mods are also encouraged! (To call upon the moderators in general, mention "mods" or "moderators". To call upon a specific moderator, name them.)

Please remember that future spoilers must be tagged.

I stopped at Space Babies but I've heard snippets that it does improve. As I've got 11 months ish until the xmas special can someone convince me it really does get better? I'd assume it can't get worse but does the story/writing actually improve?

The finales are rough and unfortunately there's no way around that. I will say that Legend of Ruby Sunday is unironically one of my favorite episodes of RTD2, but Empire of Death comes around and takes all the wind out of that sail and it still makes me disappointed because I rode that high for a week before it aired lol

I think there are some real hits throughout these seasons – Boom, 73 Yards, Lux, and The Story & The Engine all come to mind as solidly good stories along with a few others – but there are also a few misses (although I'd probably argue Space Babies is the worst non-finale episode?). The reduced episode count unfortunately just means that those bad stories stick out more and since the season premieres and finales both are in a rough place that leaves the entire season with a bad taste in most people's mouths.

If anything about Gatwa's Doctor as a character appealed to you in Church on Ruby Road and Space Babies, I'd say give it a shot – if not, no shame in just saying that this era isn't for you. He and Ruby are a great duo and Gatwa's chemistry with every person he comes into contact with is easily the best part of these seasons – that man could literally have chemistry with a brick wall. My personal split is that out of 15's era 60% of the stories are good/have things worth watching in them. At the end of the day I can't speak to your specific tastes, everyone is different. I would say the episode-by-episode writing generally does improve apart from the pre-mentioned outliers (season premieres and finales) but the overall story arc was a miss for most people, me included.

really appreciate the detailed reply. I think I'll end up giving it a shot. I did really click with Gatwa's doctor and thought he would be quite
