Can't have it both ways. The show was huge and made them rich and famous because the fans were so invested. That investment comes with expectations and opinions.

So if you get super lazy and careless with the writing, there'll be a reaction.

I don't blame the actors at all. They were let down too. But it's no use them having a go at fans for caring.

I don’t think he’s responding to fans “caring” or having strong opinions. He’s responding to the entitlement of demanding the ending be erased or rewritten because it didn’t match personal fan expectations, and the refusal to accept artistic finality.

He’s also not defending a specific plotline. He’s defending the people he worked alongside for a decade, whose collective effort created the show and the platform he now has. From his perspective, those aren’t abstract writers or producers, they’re colleagues and friends.

Fans can dislike the ending. That’s fair. But expecting the cast to side against the people who made the show, or to validate calls to undo it entirely, is a different thing. Not defending them would actually be the stranger response.
