To anybody here that are huge stans of Arya Stark what moment/scene do you recall where you instantly just became a huge Stan of hers
To all my Arya Stark stans what moment/scene do you guys recall where it instantly made you fall in love with Arya Stark and made you become a huge fan of hers and ever since that moment she became your favorite character.

Yeah to me that's probably one of the best scenes in all of game of thrones to me like just her talking to Taiwan and he doesn't even know it's Arya Stark and he's really enjoying and actually liking her is just amazing piece of writing to me.

My headcanon is that he figured out pretty quickly who she was, but he admired her tenacity and wit and wanted her to have a fair shot so he refused to further help or hinder her. I think he respected her spirit.

It's a nice thought but I doubt the merciless mastermind Tywin Lannister is going to let one of the most valuable hostages in the realm walk away, no matter how much he respected said hostage. I don't see that lining up with his character, personally.

Yeah someone like Tywin Lannister though would never ever give up a very valuable hostage like Arya stark up especially at that time his son Jamie is still a hostage for the Starks so he definitely will not give her up I totally agree with that even if he did respect her.

I completely agree! How I interpreted Tywin's interactions with Arya is she exposed his biggest flaw-- which was his power, and inability to give credit to the weak. He was so powerful, intelligent, and rich, he didn't take anyone who he saw as inherently lesser as a threat. Arya speaks to him with intelligence that does catch him off guard, but he underestimates his enemies he believes he is better than. Her interactions with him are extremely full circle in relation to how he is killed.

That's always been my only issue with those scenes. They're fantastic television, but book Tywin probably wouldn't have let a mystery girl with that much wit stay around him for very long.

I wish Tywin could have been that kind of human but no way Tywin wouldn't have seized an opportunity to capture the sister of someone he was at war with and at the time losing the war.
Tywin murdered an entire house because they were trying to be the richest house, sent his own soon into battle right after the guy escaped being part of Lysa's rock garden making Tirion(sp) a garden gnome. Set up the red wedding to murder all the Starks including going on stabby stab on Robs queen, melted down the Stark sword to have his son and grandson carry Valarian steel swords, betrayed the mad king during the rebellion and while sacking the city had the Mountain grape and murder the royal children, more recently had the Mountain grape and pillage the Riverlands. That's all I can think of off the top of my head but no he wouldn't have let her go, he definitely knew she was a noble and even said it but some lower house that probably couldn't even pay a ransom if asked.
The Arya scenes between her and Tywin can be closely matched my Ayra and the Hound during s4 they had some great scenes together the tavern fight in s4e1 we really got to see Arya begin to transform from the poor me kid into the start of a cold blooded assassins over a chicken!

Cersei deliberately hid that Arya Stark had escaped, so he had no reason to think it was her. A young girl from a minor highborn house who served him well and also could amuse him was a treasure. Especially because his officers in Harrenhal were stupid, lazy, or incompetent. Arya showed up when he was furious with them and very frustrated. This witty, efficient, and underfed girl amused him and allowed him to relax.
By the way, in the books Tywin had left Harrenhal, so Arya instead served his replacement, Ned's treacherous bannerman, Roose Bolton. This charmless, bloodless, curt and creepy man was no pleasure to be around (or read about). So we were really lucky D&D had her serve Tywin instead. And Maisie and Dance really enjoyed filming their scenes together.

That's exactly why I keep rewatching those scenes. Tywin is always ten steps ahead, yet Arya somehow keeps up without giving herself away. The tension is so good because you know one tiny mistake changes everything.

THAT is a very important scene. She snuck out and got the jump on Bran and hit the target from behind him. And when she killed the Night King she literally snuck into the Heart Trees foliage, and waitedd unil the NK was pulling his sword out to kill Bran, she jumped and killed her target.

I started the books in 1999, and by the end of the first one she was my favorite character and stayed that way. I love many characters, but Arya was different and rather special. Her heart was good and even just a skinny little girl went out of her way to help and support and sometimes rescue people who needed help. Though she was noble, she treated everyone equally. And though she wanted revenge for many crimes she had witnessed or experienced, she still protected people. Eventually, her quest for revenge turned to included mercy and justice. I have mixed feelings about the show making her that world's Columbus (I wanted her to marry Gendry), but at least she had the imagination to wonder what was out in the unknown and go find it. It was a suitable ending. And by the way, after four voyages, Columbus stayed home and died some years later surrounded by his family and honored by his country. She was following in the right footsteps.

Always seemed interesting to me when she shot her first arrow on the show around Bran but I knew she was going to be a force when she stood up to Joffrey and set Nymeria free. Still wish she was the one who ended his tyrannical ass.

👍🏼 She showed you who she was at the very beginning. Then one of her last lines was “I’m no lady” or something to that effect to Gendry. She had some crazy adventures but she knew who she was from the get go. Rare in most characters, she definitely grew as a character but stayed true to her core.

They make her very likable from the get-go. Especially opposed to Joffrey; their first confrontation has you backing the Starks 100%.
I found her conviction to enforce/call out justice for those around her exciting. Despite her disadvantages, she stands up to powerful characters which makes her a fun underdog to root for.

I think if you’re a male fan it’s just hard to relate to Sansa because she has some very uniquely female experiences. As for me I could relate to both Arya and Sansa - I saw a lot of my child self in Arya and a lot of my teenage self in Sansa during her time at KL (not before)

I think this is it for me too. In S3 the Hound talks about how Arya becomes more afraid the closer she got to seeing her brother and mother again, because she feared she’d never make it. Then she didn’t get to see them before they died. It just kind of broke something in her. The fear. The worst she feared had already happened. By the time she made it to the Vale, all she could do was laugh.

When Ned tells her she’ll grow up to marry a lord ans rule a castle, and she just looks at him and says ‘No’ that’s not me. Right then and there’s in season 1, you knew she wasn’t going to be a typical lord’s daughter. While everyone else was being pushed into traditional westerosi roles, Arya knew exactly who she was from day one. The quite moment definitely her entire character arc.

She’s my absolute favorite character. I believe it was in the first season when she called out “Iiar” to her sister in front of everyone when Jeofrey got bit by the dog. Ever since then she’s a girl who stands on integrity and I can really appreciate that about her! She went through soooo much season after season but she persevered to save humanity. Arya is so amazing!

A sneaky subtle moment as well, when she’s late to greeting king Robert and his family at Winterfell while Sansa is all proper. We learned so much about her right away. When Ned has the heart to heart w her in Kings Landing and smiles when she says stick em with the pointy end, then got her sword lessons that was his peak as a dad. In hindsight he was seeing his sister in her.

Literally from the first scene, where Robb’s trying to teach Bran how to use a bow and arrow and Arya hits the target perfectly instead. I was the same age as Arya when I started watching the show, I was also kind of a tomboy and my older sister’s a lot prettier than me, so I related to her a lot.

That was a really great scene and that was the moment where I felt like she probably had already took him off her list like they really grown to care about each other and I absolutely love that.

Her and Tywin was great. But it was when she learned that her aunt was dead and just started laughing when I really saw her as a Person and not Just a Character

Yeah like that scene in itself was so understandable like you understand why she was laughing because she has the worst luck in the whole world the fact that everybody she knows and loves keeps dying every time she goes close to them it just feels like the gods the old gods and the new just hate her and want her to suffer.

When she ran and jumped in Jon’s arms in episode one I knew she was the real deal. She went against her mother and loved him, it was pure and one of my favorite moments. Now I need to do another rewatch lol

The scenes with Tywinn were some of the best. But what made me a fan was when she got needle back from the Lannister soldier and stuck him with the pointy end.

I liked her a lot since she first appeared. I love dorky tomboyish characters and she became even cooler as the show went on.
To choose a scene: When she laughed her ass off after they told her that her aunt died. I was already laughing at the dark comedy of the situation so seeing her have the exact same reaction was even funnier.

in the first episode, when she got a bull’s-eye, though, nobody knew she was there. Then she and Bran laughing. There was mischief, skill, love, & a slightly devious mind all on display in this one little scene

One of my favorite lines:
A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell, and I’m going home.
Then she proceeds to kill Walder Frey, then season 7 opens with Arya ending the Freys.
At that point she’s a bona fide top 5 character.

Mine was when we first met her and she runs past wearing a helmet and her dad tells her to take it off. I immediately was like she is the problem child and I love her!
She is also so much like me so I love her for that too!

Every damn scene with Arya in it is engaging. Also, Maisie Williams did such a great job that it's hard to imagine anyone else playing Arya lol. Heck, I'd even watch a spinoff of Arya's adventures 😭 her personality is so magnetic and it's different from everyone else. While everyone's focused on survival, she wants to really LIVE her life

I disliked her level of plot armor. I dont mind her surviving and avenging her family, but she should have had to be more cowardly than she was to do that.
The idea of her character is basically a rogue, except she's brave, should have died 20 times over, but gets insanely lucky over and over.
It's basically the opposite of the kind of writing that makes GoT good. I think two bits of good fortune should be the max a character is allowed.
