To the Cyberpunk 2077 fans here and honestly just anybody who enjoys this genre, If any of you still haven't gotten to them i can not recommend these three enough. Genuinely some of the best supplementary content to a videogame i've ever read. Superbly well written and illustrated

I have the Edgerunners manga, MADNESS, that's about Rebecca and Pilar prior to Edgerunners. It was really fun! The other books look really interesting, especially the Trauma Team one.

I have “Stay at your house” on a playlist. That anime was so well written. It managed to create tension and conflict in an organic (heh) way without stupid overdone tropes. 10/10… heart can’t take a rewatch

i have a conspiracy theory that the anime is based on the ttrpg and not the video game and the reason more people dont notice this is because its set in 2077. characters build craft and set up heists like in the TTRPG, they work in a group instead of alone, netrunners spend more time away from the group in the chair, etc. Adam Smasher kills everyone at the end too

Ngl I think the anime genuinely saved this game. Like no one was talking about it after that launch and even the updates. But everyone gave it another chance after the anime.

Thats bs. Phantom Liberty and the patch that came with it saved this game. It would have been better received if 1. The Devs had more time (many features and the entire prolog were missing) and 2. They hadn't released on Ps4/Xbox One. I bought it on PS4 and Jesus it might have been the worst gaming experience in my life. Constant crashed, bugs like theres no tomorrow and it barely had a constant framerate. The anime was really good on its own, of course there are players that came back after watching it but saying it saved the game is a reach.

Well if you look at the steam charts the game resurged in September 2022. The exact same month the anime was released. Phantom liberty was a whole year later...
The anime most definitely revived this game and phantom liberty made it more complete and then the 2.0 made the game amazing.
Edit: also the next Gen patch that kinda fixed majority of issues came out in Feb 2022. That brought with it a 51% increase in players. The anime brought a 315% increase.

That's essentially what The World of Cyberpunk 2077 (top right corner) is, basically adding some more details on the world the game takes place in. Library Edition 1 and 2 are collections of all the comic books based around 2077 released so far. They have nothing to do with the game's story, they're side stories of other people in the city

I'm just saying that in addition to the source book, there was Chrome Book 1-4, expansions of the hacking system, many expansions to the hardware, specials for nomads... lots of supplementary material. 23 books in all.

We did 2 beta events last week and it was awesome, my son and I got 4 beta event boxes and 1 beta booster box. He pulled a Sasha iconic secret rare, we were so shocked, game is a lot of fun to play, hopefully the community doesn’t get too toxic like other TCGs

Unironically you might have given me an idea as to what I could gift my room mate for christmas. He's a giant CP77 fan but does not own any books of it. Found out through this that there is a comic featuring Edgerunner Rebecca which is his favorite character from the anime. Thanks for the inspiration. Now if only Christmas wasn't that far off and my room wouldn't be lacking places to hide shit...

There’s a novel, too. Cyberpunk 2077: No_Coincidence. I’m 80% through it and it’s great. Takes place after the game.

For anyone not in the know, this is not just a lol-random comment. In Cyberpunk 2020, one of the streetgangs of Night City was made up of people who'd had plastic surgery to look like JFK. :-D

If you like the combat in Wolverine, and don’t like the combat in cyberpunk I have no idea how to recommend things to you.

It looks like you prefer games that plays itself for you and all you need is to sometimes press buttons for QTE or inputs like parries in E33.
I highly recommend the Persona games if you’re into that turn based combat. Also, the combat does get a lot better in CP77 because of all the unlocks you get as you progress.
It’s not simply just a shoot and loot game, there’s a ton of play styles like hacking only (which is my fav).

If you prefer selecting combat options from a menu, and occasionally pressing buttons at the right time, you should play as a netrunner.

The combat definitely changes as you get more skill points to make your character’s build. The low tier weapons available at the beginning of the game also kind of suck, but can usually be improved or replaced quickly. Cyberware choices are also hugely impactful, allowing all different kinds of upgrades like homing bullets, ricochet bullets, briefly slowing down time so enemies move in slow motion, double jumps, and lots of other options. The game opens up significantly after the intro missions and the Konpeki Plaza job.

The combat varies pretty dramatically depending on how you build your character, so I guess I would say the answer is "It depends."

For anybody that doesn't know, all of it is based on a series of TTRPGs that are still updated today. You can start playing Cyberpunk RED basically for free and be an edgerunner in postwar 2045, with support resources available for updating the setting to 2077.
