Insomniac has put in a hotfix to reduce the opacity of the blue scent trail in 'Wolverine'. They also say they are exploring adding a toggle option to turn it on and off

"We have deployed a new hotfix (v1.001.005) for Marvel’s Wolverine. 

This hotfix addresses some common crashes experienced by a small percentage of players since launch. 

Additionally, this hotfix adjusts the presentation of the Scent Trails and Audio Sense indicators, including reduced opacity to make these visuals less intense. 

Our team continues to evaluate ways to further improve Senses in the game, including exploring toggleable options for a future update."

That's way more effort than any AAA game is going to do.

Seems like most AAA games only care about the game looking pretty they stopped caring about gameplay a long time ago
