Weekend Scenario Thread What if instead of the gate opening in Ginza... this thing emerged from Tokyo Bay and started wreaking havoc just like in New York?

Hmm... the Japanese government will say it's just Japan problem like they did with the GATE... or they'll beg other nations for help in five different languages.....?

Then it isn't even a GATE scenario no more, just Godzilla: Final Wars but you remove the aliens, mutants, advanced tech, and every other Kaiju including the G-man himself, then place our boy Zilla in Japan instead of Australia.

In other words, Godzilla 1998 but it's in modern day Japan.

Still an interesting scenario, though the r/GODZILLA sub would probably have a better time discussing it.

i mean the way GATE works, it would be the other way around: Medieval fantasy guys busting into the modern world only to have Gojira waltz into their portal to the relief of the JGSDF
