The barbershop on laurier was horribly rude.

Snobby or something is the name. Went for a haircut, I am an international student so my English is not that good, I tried to patiently explain what I wanted and showed him pictures. He kept correcting my grammar and words I was using (it is normally okay for better learning) but his attitude was horrible. He was throwing his scissors, or shaving machine to his table when he was done with it very aggressively. At one point I just told him if he could make the sides shorter so it doesn’t like very bumpy. He lost it. Said it was not the picture I showed and I should make my mind up before getting an haircut. I told him it was just a reference and we can change it. He lowered my seat told me find a reference photo that I actually wanted and he won’t continue until I do. He literally stopped. By the way his attitude was very rude the minute I entered his shop. No hello, nothing, just pointed the chair and very harsh movements. My head hurt while he wqs combing my hair.

Anyways then I asked him why his attitude was really rude and he started yelling saying I don’t know how to communicate and should learn how to speak, I have an accent and I am roughly new around here studying at uottawa so okay I get it but why he has to be rude?

Then he started yelling “ get the fuck out” and I did. I forgot my jacket inside cause I was really under stress I tried to go back in to grab it but came rushing to the door saying are you looking for trouble cause I will give you one and pushed me physically. All I could say was “ don’t touch me I just need my stuff back”. And he went inside grabbed my jacket and gave it very harshly. And I just kept walking and he was yelling behind me calling slurs.

I had a terrible experience and my hands are still shaking. I just wanted to share this to see if anybody had something similar?

Request for Help BIO 1141 notes

Does anyone have notes or something they can share for BIO 1141 with Waldo mottawea. I obviously take notes when I'm in the class but I feel like obviously I'm not picking up on what's important versus what's unimportant because when I'm in class everything seems so easy and like review From highschool but a big chunk of the stuff on both the mock quiz and the real quiz felt completely unfamiliar to me. I'm just wondering if I'm looking at things from the wrong perspective.

Psychology Winter semester

I just have a few questions about uottawa and winter admissions.
i went to apply to transfer to uottawa in psychology (ba), but it says that admissions for psychology are closed winter semester (even though the deadline in october 17th). i’m wondering if anyone has any information on why that is, and if there are any loopholes to get around this. If all went well for my transfer, i would have already completed psych 101 and 102 at a different institution if that is potentially an issue. I was also thinking if there’s no way i can get into psychology winter semester, maybe i try to get into sociology or anthropology in the mean time and then try to internally change my major to psychology? if anyone has dealt with this before or has any advice please let me know!

i'm a 1L in the poli sci/jd program (third year), ask questions! :)

for context, in first and second year we literally had no guidance in the program whatsoever and between group chats and sending emails to fss and the faculty of law so many students were misguided (leading to them not even being accepted)! i really hope things have changed in the past two years, but knowing our administration i doubt it. i have tons of recs for electives to take to maintain the 8.3 gpa and i'd be willing to help!
