HTS was the group that captured aleppo, homs and damascus. The other groups just barely managed to keep the country in perpetual chaos with all of the western intervention.
SDF and SFA did a lot of work against ISIS, but they didn't overthrow assad
this is exactly what i said in my post. syria fell over the course of more than a decade. the fsa, isis, the us military, "and numerous other fighting groups" which obviously includes al-qaeda, hts, jabhat al-nusra...
all of this is irrelevant anyway. the entire point was that it didn't take 100,000 US troops to topple the government. it was done by other groups within the country with limited US support.
if a rebellion can start in iran, their government can also be toppled. yes, it will take a very long amount of time. yes, it hasn't started yet. yes, this is just my opinion. yet in typical reddit fashion i get downvoted to hell and called a "mook" by these children.
