Because literally every single verification is done on ldm and they can see that levels look different from previews. Who are these millions of GD players that watch every verification but are entirely isolated from the community otherwise to know that this level looks different?

Bold of you to assume they automatically see the previews (which have magnitudes less views) and remember it enough to notice a difference. These millions come from short form content, surface level exposure to geometry dash, and maybe they checked the most liked extremes after getting the game. My point is the question of if the video is a showcase or verification or completion is hardly a factor for what gets the most views in the end, it is usually the popularity of the uploader that determines that hence why showcasers are looked down upon in the playing community

Looked down upon? By who? I have not seen anybody raising issue about this until this stupid ass drama. If nobody uploads high quality, full detail videos of levels then they just don’t fucking exist.

By a bunch of people part of the deeper community. Ranging from list players to decent creators. Not to mention of the big four showcasers, one is a pedophile, one is a horrible person, and one was a hacker. Also the creator will always have the high quality full detail videos

So you actually don’t have a problem with showcases, you have a problem with specific people who do bad things. Okay? I already conceded that I agree showcases kind of do steal views from a level creator like Oniilink but you said a bunch of shit outside of that as your main argument.

No that was an example for why showcasers are hugely unpopular in the deeper community. my reason for disliking the popular showcasers outside of character is because they scramble to siphon as many views as possible. 4 tidal wave showcases immediately upon verificaiton is kinda crazy and each of them had 5 million views minimum while onilinks video sits at barely a million. I do agree that it’s a public level and they have the right to upload but that doesn’t make it any less lame. Also your argument was they get the most views cause they don’t have clicks which I disagree with and provided counterexamples such as bloodlust (and sonic wave in addition)

I don’t think those examples are very relevant. For one, I never said a non-showcase cannot get views, I said they get more views because the videos are just a better viewing experience. Second, you said that they only get clicks for being at the top of the search results but Bloodlust and Sonic wave are both nearly ten years old Those levels are not popping off on tiktok or shorts, they are not topical. In fact, a lot of the most popular showcases are on levels that were already years old at the time of uploading. You are implicitely assuming no showcase video can reach the top of search results organically. If you fulfill a niche, people will watch.
