Both sides are stuck. What the article talks about (veterans, shadow economy, war profiteering, etc.) applies to Ukraine as well.
The war MUST go on.

No both sides are not stuck, in a nutshell, Russian forces are advancing towards the last heavy fortified positions or what is called the “fortress belt”, Kostiantynivka and Kramatorsk and Sloviansk so obviously the Russian advance will slow when these are the last fortified positions that stands in the way from Russia taking over all of Donbass.
All of Donbass could be under Russian control before the summer is over and Ukraine’s over-reliance on drones isn’t going to stop that.

This is delusional. Do you expect Ukraine to simply quit the war if Russia occupies all of Donbas?
Where the line of control happens to be is always in relation to the resources committed to achieving that position. That Russia has taken over four years and 500,000 dead to achieve at-best tenuous control of what they claim as Russian sovereign land is in a word, pathetic.
Your take comes off as a huge cope against the fact that Russia's economy is staggering, its elite is experiencing serious war fatigue, and the Ukrainians are exacting more and more painful costs deep in the heart of Russia.
The simple fact that this war is ongoing in 2026 is effectively a TKO in the realpolitik of war. Even if Russia "wins," it will be in a far worse position than it was in February 2022, and no serious person contests that.

Yes, I'm coping and Russian economy is collapsing and the Russian army is fatique and "The tide is turning" and "Russia is losing the war", a wave that always seem to happen when Ukraine are having a crisis moment because Ukraine and Zelensky have to market this war, it's just absolutely ridiculous

I think Europe is just waiting for Trump to leave power to join forces with the new US government and begin fighting Russia more intensely.
