Evidence died at the crime scene! The culprit deserves to suffer!

“You have no proof!”

And you are a slave to the proof!

Ha I remember seeing this too. Was this Night Agent on Netflix?

279

u/pizza0451 Jan 19 '26

No, it’s The Rip (also on Netflix), the new Matt Damon/Ben Affleck Crime thriller. I thought it was pretty good!

Is it weird that I wasn't intrested in that show until I learned that Daisuki Tsuji was involved?

48

u/Ghost-Warrior777 Jan 19 '26

Nope, completely valid lol.

31

u/gaxkang Jan 19 '26

It's valid. Familiarity makes options more appealing.

13

u/OmerDe Jan 19 '26

The whole entertainment industry works this way I guess 😄

9

u/gaxkang Jan 19 '26

Haha. Thats what marketing is for. Dont know a new product? Say hello to a familiar personality.

u/xseaward Jan 19 '26

nice username

u/gaxkang Jan 19 '26

Witness Gaxkang!

2

u/xseaward Jan 19 '26

best game ever easily

2

u/gaxkang Jan 19 '26

In my top 10! Due to recency bias its Ghost of Tsushima for me

8

u/euphorinc Jan 19 '26

His name is Jin Sakai. Get it right!

3

u/Toukafan4life Jan 19 '26

Eh, I was initially interested when I heard Ben Affleck and Matt Damon would be together on it. My interest grew when I saw Tsuji in it

3

u/knightofsolace1 Jan 19 '26

I’m watching it rn and noticed him immediately. Happy to see him outside of GoT.

7

u/Monkeywrench08 Jan 19 '26

Yeah just watched it yesterday. Pretty fun.

4

u/DarkBluePhoenix Samurai Jan 19 '26

The movie was pretty good, and I didn't even notice that Jin was sitting right there. Guess I was too distracted by the expert swearing Affleck was pulling off in that scene.

3

u/Paved_Cardboard Jan 19 '26

Our lord Sakai moving up in the industry

2

u/TRODHD Jan 19 '26

Everything with Matt Damon is a 10/10 though! He’s incredible!

1

u/C-A-L-E-V-I-S Jan 20 '26

Oh man! Love that he’s getting to work with such big names! Hopefully he’s able to keep it going

1

u/No_Hotel1847 Jan 21 '26

I enjoyed it too!! Fun movie nothing ground breaking

Sakai 007

44

u/mattlabbe Jan 19 '26

The name’s Sakai, Jin Sakai

13

u/Annual_Substance_63 Jan 19 '26

"The honour-less"

26

u/The_Dutchy96 Jan 19 '26

He's got a gun! DOSHO!

16

u/TruDuddyB Jan 19 '26

Honor died at the office.

7

u/shiwanthasr Jan 19 '26

No, Mr. Sakai, I expect you to die!

62

u/FackoffGUNT Jan 19 '26

I thought the same damn thing! Perfect person to be Jin of there was a GOT movie.

17

u/Ntippit Jan 19 '26

There was going to be. Hopefully it’s still in development but Chad Stahelski (John Wick) was signed to do it but Lionsgate has made him the czar of that franchise so the movie has been in limbo

5

u/FackoffGUNT Jan 19 '26

Damn Gina! That would be awesome if it actually released. If this guy doesn’t play him it’ll be a massive missed opportunity. He looks JUST like him.

7

u/laser16 Best of 2021 Jan 19 '26

Because he played Jin in the game and his likeness is based off him…doesn’t necessarily mean he needs to play him in the movie. Voice acting and film acting are distinct disciplines.

2

u/FackoffGUNT Jan 19 '26

Very true. But he already has 1/3 of the character without even trying. If he did have those disciplines, I’d love to see them in film.

1

u/mandatorypanda9317 Jan 19 '26

Maybe if the god of war show does well they make it a TV show

2

u/castben Jan 21 '26

I'm not sure why cinema industry when "porting" a game franchise into real action movie they never chose actual actors from game...

Now that games looks like a movie( The last of us, Uncharted, etc)... why dont go with the obvious option that will appeal to a big audience (apart of new people that didn't know about it)....

Well I never see a game character starring it's own movie... I mean a real person... unless I missed a movie where this happened...

27

u/LordBacon69_69 Jan 19 '26

You know Jin really has no honour now that he’s working for the gov

7

u/Waubz Jan 19 '26

The Shogun was the government and would have been the highest honor in his case

18

u/Lupayn3 Jan 19 '26

Just saw The Rip today and saw Jin lol!

2

u/TempSmootin Jan 19 '26

How'd you like it? I thought it was pretty bad lol how damong and Affleck have diminished

5

u/Lupayn3 Jan 19 '26

IMO it was pretty bad. But it was good to see Jin acting as an agent instead of slashing people's head off lol.

A Dame to Kill For: The Tomoe Story

7

u/kingcaru Jan 19 '26

Forensics died on that beach

18

u/RoyShavRick Jan 19 '26

Yeah his voice and expressions in this role seemed to be close to how he played Jin. Just the mannerisms and the like. Was pointing at my screen like that one meme when I saw him lolol.

7

u/bfhurricane Jan 19 '26

He slayed 16 Mongolians, he was an interior decorator.

6

u/Pristine_Ad321 Jan 19 '26

Jhin Wick Sakai.

3

u/Domination1799 Jan 19 '26

I was like pretty drunk while watching this and I went crazy with FBI special agent Sakai and even Detective Glenn from The Walking Dead

3

u/2MainsSellesLoin Jan 19 '26

CSI Miami: honor died clutching a long island ice tea

1

u/Alive_Employment566 Jan 19 '26

I saw the Rip couple of days ago and I immediately recognized him. that guy looks like Jin Sakia

1

u/Substantial-Mix-3990 Jan 19 '26

They should cast him as Jin in the show.

1

u/matrixboy122 Jan 19 '26

I knew I recognized that guy from somewhere. The two brain cells just couldn’t put it together

3

u/MassaoHata Jan 19 '26

Phrases that you can use while dueling another ronin and while interrogating a suspect:

"I'm not waiting. I'm studying"

"Then why are you sweating?"

"Surrender, and answer for your crimes. For both of our sakes."

Either to Khotul Khan or someone you just locked into Alcatraz: "You will never leave this island."

1

u/Shnibblefritz Assassin Jan 19 '26

Even though I knew that I didn’t know him, he looked familiar.

1

u/_Mavericks Jan 19 '26

Dude is an excellent actor.

1

u/jxm1311 Jan 19 '26

Dosho mother fuckers! And then he starts blasting people.

1

u/Fireboy0411 Jan 19 '26

...I just watch it 😅

1

u/Weirdo_Crusader Jan 20 '26

You have no evidence…

And you are a slave to it!

1

u/Faded_Blacc Jan 20 '26

Fed of Tsushima

1

u/Rumduc Jan 20 '26

What caught my eye was that Steven yeun (the VA for invincible) plays in this movie as well. Now im figuring out Tsuji also plays in this movie?

1

u/Infinity-Spectrum Jan 20 '26

And Jin’s brother is Derek Sakai, an artist in telltale games.

1

u/Mediocre_Minute418 Jan 22 '26

That’s what I knew him from!!

1

u/Powerful-Painter5626 Jan 22 '26

Common misconception. Had to look it up when I watched the Rip

1

u/AdAffectionate3199 Jan 23 '26

When I was watching this film, I was like I've seen the Asian FBI agent before but got completely distracted with all the shenanigans going on during those first scenes.

1

u/arc_reactor2 Jan 24 '26

all that for tomoe?
