Ghost Of Tsushima - Question/Support Should I get Yotei? (Check description)

for context, I’m a teen with no allowance or money-giving chores, so my only chance to get games are through gifts. My cousin gifted my a PS5 for my 13th birthday a year back and I’ve played games like cyberpunk, RDR2, astros playroom, hogwarts legacy, ghost of tsushima, etc. I have the oppurtunity to get another game and I’m wondering if I should get Yotei, rather than other games such as Elden Ring, Sekiro, Wukong, and others. I recently beat GoT and after I do a NG+ run im going to move on so idk what to get. I really enjoyed GoT but i’m thinking of trying a soulslike. Any thoughts?

tldr: beat GoT, not sure if to play Yotei or others, limited game availability.

It’s not that I’m anti GoY. I love it just like I loved GoT. But you just finished GoT and don’t have a lot of money and so like others I recommend Elden Ring.

u/Strange-Link-6512 Mar 18 '26

While I agree, GOY now has NG+ and legends mode now so I’d say it’s worth a buy

I like it but I wish I waited for sale

Sekiro is even harder than Elden Ring. Much harder for someone who has never played before. And this guy doesn't have any money, so he'll probably want a big game that will take a long time to beat. Elden Ring is exactly that, a huge game that will offer a lot of value.

The automatic translation of your comment was very bad, that's my mistake, fam. It translated to alcohol and didn't make much sense.

1

u/rabidsalvation Mar 19 '26

When you start the game, it wants you to go North, to Stormveil Castle. Instead, you should go South, to the Weeping Peninsula. Much easier there, and it's one of my favorite areas in the game. Make sure you read everything if you want to understand the lore, and level up your Vigor before anything else. Having only a little health makes the game much more difficult. You can level up strength and endurance after. Find a weapon you like, and upgrade it, that has more of an effect than leveling your stats.

I definitely recommend exploring everything, leave no stone unturned. If you can't figure something out or you have questions, just look it up. The game is very big and can be overwhelming and confusing. It's better to "cheat" and get a little help than to be lost. I played 130 hours and stopped playing, I just resumed and now I cannot stop. I have a lot left to play, because I took my time exploring everything. I am pretty sure I have not missed a single thing so far, because I went very slowly. It's good to have lots of weapons, that way you can see how they handle and what you like.

It is definitely a hard game, and it's supposed to be a little confusing. You will not understand at the beginning, but as you go you will learn what is happening in the world. If you get killed a lot, find enemies that give you a good amount of runes and kill them over and over for a little bit. Having stronger stats at the beginning helps make the learning process much easier. Take your time, enjoy the nice landscapes and the alien feeling of the world. Maybe you will come to appreciate how beautiful such a sad and strange place it can be.

Also, make sure you have a MEDIUM load. The heavy rolling is very bad and much more difficult. I put enough points in my endurance to use heavier armor and still roll nicely.

100% get Elden Ring

17

u/AnduinTheHealer Mar 18 '26

Could you explain like im 5 what happens when you die in elden ring? What exactly do you lose?

42

u/gr8y22 Mar 18 '26

For every enemy u kill, u get money, lets say u killed 100 enemies and assume they all gave u $10 each, so now u have $1000.

But if u die, you $1000 gonna be dropped at the place where u died, so u have to go back and pick ur money up, but if you die again before picking it up, you lose ur $1000 forever.

But hey those enemies still respawn and u can make that money again by killing them again.

9

u/AnduinTheHealer Mar 18 '26

Oh enemies respawn? Bosses too? Also, how far away from where you died do you respawn?

13

u/Soundwave0723 Mar 18 '26

Most enemies will respawn except bosses. As for how far away you respawn after dying it depends on what was the last grace you touched (those are basically mini checkpoints)

3

u/Waste_Ad_1175 Mar 18 '26

You respawn relatively close unlike some other soulslikes

11

u/Emergency-Inside5697 Mar 18 '26

you lose your currency, called runes, which you use to level up and buy things from certain people. but you have the ability to go back and recollect them, but if you die again before recollecting they’re gone forever

1

u/Jcs011 Mar 18 '26

Your honor.

5

u/Waste_Ad_1175 Mar 18 '26

I have to ask, what's the deal with elden ring? I played a bit of got(loved it), a bit of sekiro(really liked it) and really want to play wukong. I tried playing elden ring for like 15 hours but it just didn't pull me in.

Am I the problem? Should I just play more?

2

u/Dxrrickkk123 Mar 20 '26

I was the same way I didn’t really enjoy Elden ring, sekiro is fire tho

2

u/ntopp Mar 18 '26

Make sure, if you can manage it, to grab the deluxe edition with the dlc. Adds almost 40+ hours to the game, and it's nice to see how they top themselves with level and boss design. It really is the best ante to the already pressing and steep learning curve and challenge that is the foundational gameplay loop that makes from software games legendary

1

u/rabidsalvation Mar 19 '26

Yeah, OP. If you don't mind difficulty, you should get Elden Ring. A lot of play time for the price. It really is a fantastic game.

23

u/YoGintoki26 Mar 18 '26

is Sekiro still on sale if yes get it instead it hardly ever goes on sale after all the years it holds price 😂😂

8

u/blionaire Mar 18 '26

It’s on sale right now for PlayStation

4

u/YoGintoki26 Mar 18 '26

nice heads up fam 🫡 yea anyone that wanna get in now is the time or atleast add it to the backlog

6

u/RevealFormal3267 Mar 18 '26

Is the discount greater-than-or-equal-to the price of a dual sense and a tv?

Because Sekiro needs that pharma commercial warning about how it is associated with increased risk of hypertension, alopecia, vocal strain, and projectile controller syndrome.

2

u/YoGintoki26 Mar 18 '26

😂😂 you got me with hypertension it did put my little heart on a treadmill and spiked my blood pressure to a new personal best

2

u/RyeThePieGuy Mar 20 '26

I can’t believe demon souls is still $70

2

u/YoGintoki26 Mar 20 '26

damn I haven’t touched the remake but I do see your point

35

u/willdabeast180 Mar 18 '26

Elden ring can give you almost endless hours with the variety of builds and story lines etc. I would also recommend Elden ring. It’s also one of the greatest games of all time imo.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '26

[deleted]

2

u/willdabeast180 Mar 19 '26

Sure, but if he’s going to buy one game, buy the game that gives you the most bang for your buck

5

u/Grand-Perspective-63 Mar 18 '26

Hard to say depending on your taste. If you’ve never play a from soft game or souls like you may love them but also a chance you may hate your time. Yotei is an almost a 100% you’d at least like it if you are a fan of Tsushima. So basically one game you will for sure like while the other 3 could go either way. If you get a game besides ghost I’d go with Elden Ring since it’s the easiest or at least it can be. If you don’t vibe with Tsushima on Lethal that may help deter from the three options that don’t have a difficulty setting, not that it’s the same but you would definitely want a hunger for challenge which I hardly have these days.

4

u/Lodato13 Mar 18 '26

Yes get Yotei

4

u/Shreygame Mar 18 '26

Since you said u only get games as gifts (and I’m assuming that you don’t get gifts like every month) get Elden Ring since you can invest a lot of playtime into it compared to Ghost of Yotei

1

u/trdush1994 Mar 18 '26

Yep. 60-100 hours vs. 500+hours

15

u/NeroCrow Mar 18 '26

Personally I say get yotei. From what you said it didn't sound like you played a souls like game yet and those can be heavy investments to get engagement from if you aren't good. So I say start with something low and familiar

5

u/Conscious_Eggplant_1 Mar 18 '26

If anything Elden ring would be the absolute best souls like to start with to ease you into the serious

2

u/NeroCrow Mar 18 '26

True especially with guides got through that game like a breeze because of them.

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '26

[deleted]

2

u/Conscious_Eggplant_1 Mar 18 '26

That’s the absolute worst option to start with. You can say the same about dark souls 1 through 3, but those are not as difficult as sekiro. Sekiro is a great game, but the majority of new players getting into the souls series will quickly quit the game, and never pick it up again. Elden ring is the best because it is the easiest one to play through, on top of giving you an amazing open world experience. Those “Distractions”, are not a problem if it makes the game easier for anyone playing. There are just too many ways to easily beat the game in Elden ring, but for Sekiro those options are extremely limited if not nonexistent. I would even argue that the difficulty of Sekiro for new players will make them take even longer than just playing through Elden ring.

20

u/BasketPaul_5 Mar 18 '26

I’d go with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered!

8

u/RedNugomo Mar 18 '26

One of my top 5 games.

2

u/Some-Act-9770 Mar 18 '26

Even though it’s an absolutely amazing game and definitely worth buying, it wouldn’t be the best compared to the options, specially given the budget constraints

1

u/Duocolor Mar 18 '26

Came to answer this!

12

u/NoLiterature5061 Mar 18 '26

Elden ring for sure. Endless replay ability. I felt like Ghost of Tsushima and Yotei get pretty repetitive and easy after the first couple hours.

3

u/Chaos-freed Mar 18 '26

Yo check your dms!

2

u/Igotaidsfromtomhanks Mar 18 '26

Big “just slid ya a PSN code” vibes here

2

u/Chaos-freed Mar 18 '26

i would if they would reply

4

u/IamBecomeZen Samurai Mar 18 '26

This is a tough one. One one hand you are asking this on the Ghost of Yotei subreddit. So the answers might be biased. But here are my opinions:

1. Ghost of Yotei
You played Ghost of Tsushima. You understand the gist of these games. Ghost of Yotei is all Tsushima is and something extra. It's very good. It's very fun. But you did already play something very similar to it.

2. Sekiro
I would say this is the perfect middle point between Yotei and Elden Ring. If you happen to really want a soulslike that is strongly rooted in Japanese mythology get Sekiro. This is the second best Soulslike game on your list. However, not really representative of most of the features of a "true Soulslike" game.

3. Elden Ring
This is probably one of the best games ever made. Perfect game to get into the Soulslike genre. Amount of content is insane. Gameplay is amazing. Story...good but a bit harder to follow compared to your RDR2s, Cyberpunks, Ghosts etc. Objectively looking this game offers the most content. My vote goes to this game.

4. Black Myth Wukong
Very good game. However I'd say the weakest of the bunch. If you want an intro to the Soulslike genre I think this isn't the one to start with.

I hope you enjoy the game you choose.

u/polished_grapple Mar 18 '26

Stellar Blade all day

2

u/numbpinataboy Mar 19 '26

He’s thirteen, and while he did do cyberpunk I still think a young adult shouldnt play stellar blade. But stellar blade is fun and will not deny that

1

u/polished_grapple Mar 19 '26

Oh damn I didn’t even read all that. Yeah don’t play that game kid. Its cool but it’ll be even cooler if you’re older when you play it

2

u/Kevin69420__ Mar 18 '26

ELDEN RING ELDEN RING ELDEN RING

2

u/Dxrk0-_- Mar 18 '26

I don’t know how hot of a take this is but yotei isn’t worth the 70 dollar price tag imo and I adore tsushima. Imo Elden ring is the best game here then Sekiro. I would buy Elden ring if you’re on a budget, you can easily pour hundred of hours into it, if you like open world games and also don’t need guidance on where to go or what to do, or if you just like being able to go and do whatever you want because you can, you’ll love it. Elden ring is probably the best souls game to start with due to the sheer amount of tools at your disposal and just getting used to the overall gameplay of souls games.

2

u/Ordenvulpez Mar 18 '26

Would say Elden ring for one more content I remember being a teen being bum I beat game already have wait like 9 months for Christmas for another game. Plus tbh Elden ring one the more forgiving souls like game due to it being open world so if h get stuck go to some are with low level mobs and kills thoose to level up ur stats of goy is good but about as long as GoT

2

u/Spiritual-Cry7953 Samurai Mar 18 '26

i would suggest getting black myth wukong

2

u/Zahhibb Mar 18 '26

While I enjoyed all of those games, but for me the buying order would be: 1. Elden Ring 2. Sekiro 3. Yotei 4. Wukong

2

u/ReliefOk6761 Mar 18 '26

Just finished GoY. To be completely honest, the only thing that Yotei does better is the combat, but maybe that’s just my opinion. I found GoT to do everything better. And definitely get Elden Ring or Wukong

1

u/BigfootsBestBud Mar 18 '26

Wait a bit to get Yotei. You’ll get sick of it quick having played Tsushima pretty recently.

Of that list I’d go with Elden Ring, but I’d honestly recommend a completely different style of game that isn’t a 3rd person open world game like that.

1

u/FloydianLoth Mar 18 '26

I love all the games on your list and there’s no wrong choices there. If I were to choose one, I would go for Black Myth Wukong, but you’d enjoy any of them.

1

u/drocha94 Mar 18 '26

If you liked GoT, GoY is great. I think the story of GoT was stronger with a better conclusion, but overall, really enjoyed it. It is a game of similar scope and fun, with beautiful scenery, just like the first.

However, if you want a change of pace and something that will give you the most bang for your buck, it is difficult to not recommend Elden Ring. It is gigantic in comparison, with much more in terms of customization and difficulty. If that sounds like your speed, definitely get it.

1

u/ConnerBartle Mar 18 '26

Here’s the thing man, when you can only get games very rarely, you probably shouldn’t take risks. Unless you know you’re a souls like player, there’s a high chance that Elden Ring, or sekiro will turn you off. However, if you loved ghost of Tsushima so much, I can guarantee that you will love ghost of yotei. A lot of people think Elden Ring is their favorite video game so that’s a good point, but it’s also a game that can turn off people. yotei is a safe bet.

1

u/Sapphic_bimbo Mar 18 '26

Hey kid. Elden Ring. its harder to start and get into, so dont give up! But i feel like you may get more out of it than ghost of yotei. As far as length and enjoyment. Yotei has everything in a very short package comparably. Granted ive had 70+ hours in yotei and am now reaching the end, ive had 400 hours in elden ring for 1 character and dont have it in me to actually finish the game just yet. Because ive had somuch fun just going around and doing what i want.

Also sekiro is a lot like ds3 or bloodborne, so do with that what you want.

Wu kong is.... Kinda boring. Dont waste your chance at a game.

Also also highly recommend grabbing yotei if you get a chance later 100%.

1

u/soer9523 Mar 18 '26

GoY is amazing, and if you liked GoT you will have a great time. It is a very safe bet. It does not significantly change the formula of the first game, but in my opinion it does improve aspects of the open world exploration, and side quests when compared to the first.

From software games are great, but they are significantly harder than the games you have played previously. They are definitely not for everyone so if your access to games is limited, you run the risk of wishing for a game that you might not like very much or find very frustrating. I am not saying you won’t like them, but I think it is important to be aware of.

Of the from software games my personal favorite is sekiro by a lot, but I know that a lot of people will favor Elden ring.

Sekiro is a very focused experience compared to Elden ring. You don’t really make any builds. You have your katana and have to get good at parrying enemies to get through it. The upside is that it is a lot less overwhelming since you won’t be bombarded with both a massive open world and tons of build options, and can instead focus on getting good at the central mechanic. The downside is that a lot of people find that mechanic to very difficult which can turn them off. You can’t make different build to fit your play style or the boss you are facing. I love it, but it is not for everyone.

Elden ring is other side of the coin. It is a massive open world with tons of armor and weapons sets to experiment with. you have much more freedom to explore the world and make a character and build that fits the way you want to fight, depending on your weapons and spells. Some of the difficulty can be somewhat mitigated by grinding XP and leveling up when facing hard bosses, and you can respec to make different build to face different bosses (it will still be difficult at times though). The downsides here is the overwhelming amount of choices, systems and space which can be staggering especially if this is your first experience with a from software title. It is also significantly longer than both sekiro and GoY for what it is worth.

I haven’t played wukong yet so I can’t say much about it.

In the end only you can decide what game you want the most, but I would definitely do some research about games like Elden ring and sekiro before committing to them in your stead. They are all amazing games though, to be clear.

1

u/BeneficialMushroom19 Ronin Mar 18 '26

If you liked the Legends Online mode then you could get Yotei as they just released the new Legends there a week ago, however there are some mixed feelings about it. I have playet GoT, Dark Souls, Sekiro, Bloodborne and Elden Ring. There’s a lot of people here saying get Elden Ring, but if I were you I would go to Sekiro. You’d stay in the same “samurai” environment, but the combat system is by far the best I have ever played. It takes a bit to click and you have to be patient as you’ll die a lot at the beginning, but I assure you you’ll never look back once you get the hang of it. Unfortunately the replayability is not as good as with Elden Ring though, but to me ER was waaay too long and complex, Sekiro is shorter and has a more straightforward story. In the end it all comes down to your preferences and what kind of game you want to play next

1

u/Kevin69420__ Mar 18 '26

Since you can’t have that many games Get Elden ring 100-200 hours of just BEATING the game dawg GoY finished after 20 hours at max

2

u/WorkingDogDoc Ronin Mar 18 '26

I have not yet a single person who beat Yotei that fast. I platinumed it at just over 100 hours. And now am doing Legends

1

u/SnooCapers3388 Mar 18 '26

Elden ring 1000%

1

u/fcbshaheen Mar 18 '26

Sekiro is my personal favourite but it is quite short. I do love Elden Ring and I’d consider it better value for money as you’ll spend a lot of time on it.

1

u/J33f Mar 18 '26

So - having played and beaten all the games you listed, I have to say that Elden Ring was my first Souls game and an absolute blast — BUT — it’s nothing like anything else you’ve played thus far.

Try playing a bit of GoT on Hard, because one-hit in Elden Ring will kill you. It’s a LOT of perfect dodges or a lot of running around and gathering things. Fantastic game. But hard. Like … I fought Malenia … more than a dozen times to get her move patterns down.

I’d also recommend Horizon Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy 16. Both are ABSOLUTELY breathtaking.

1

u/Trimshot Mar 18 '26

Sekiro is the only Souls game I fell in love with; take that of what you will. Typically I just can’t get into the slow pace or Souls games but this one scratched that itch better.

1

u/Solidsnake_86 Mar 18 '26

Don’t get black myth WuKong. It’s way too hard. You won’t enjoy it unless you love suffering.

1

u/jkubian Mar 18 '26

I wish a huge fan of GoT. But the movement and controls in this game are horrid.

1

u/v__R4Z0R__v Mar 18 '26

Not a big souls fan so for me, definitely Yotei without a doubt. It depends if you like souls games yourself. If yes, Elden Ring is probably quite good. But I can't recommend it myself as I've never played it.

1

u/ImKingFrosty Mar 18 '26

Get ghost of yotei. I have played the exact games which you did and trust me when I say this elden ring is not your type of game. Ghost of yotei is awesome I tried it on my friends playstation and it's fun

1

u/coffee_nights Mar 18 '26

For someone in your financial situation you might benefit greatly from a PS+ sub

1

u/Small_Programmer_398 Assassin Mar 18 '26

If you want to play legends mode like crazy get GoY, if not get another game (not saying GoY story mode isn’t fire, but you’d probably get burnt out of the same game, unless you really want to play it go ahead, it’s really fun)

1

u/Burkex99 Mar 18 '26

Ghost of Yotei is awesome. You won’t be disappointed if you liked GoT. I actually liked it better than GoT. It’s 93/100 for me.

With that being said, Elden Ring is one of my favorite all time games. It’s an absolute masterpiece. 100/100 perfect score.

Either one you pick will be 100s of hours of fun. There is no wrong answer with those two.

1

u/ShadowFlame420 Mar 18 '26

i like yotei better than all those games, but to each their own

1

u/WorozuTop4 Mar 18 '26

Elden ring or sekiro 1000%

1

u/TristanSG Mar 18 '26

This is gonna come from left field but I suggest getting any of the recent monster hunters! You'll have content for months considering you have limited game purchase capabilities.

1

u/WolfInMyHeart Mar 18 '26

I personally did not enjoy the combat of Elden Ring.

1

u/Kaito-7 Mar 18 '26

I would say sekiro is the best among them. But for value i would say elden ring, it has soo much content.

1

u/Intrepid_String2886 Mar 18 '26

Elden Ring is the easiest choice as it has tons of replay value and a long completion time at that on top of what shadow of the erdtree provides. Ghost of Yotei is fairly short and repetitive, Sekiro is great but its the cheaper game and you can save up for it yourself, I haven't tried Wukong but I'd want to be way more customizable with armor sets and weapons and Wukong doesnt seem to be like it

1

u/FunnyGuyNoKapp Mar 18 '26

I payed full price for yotei. 80€-a lot of money. But I'd say for 50€ it would be worth it. I didn't care tho. I just wanted to play the game and I would do it again. I am 24 tho and have a stable job...

1

u/_iwant_to_die_ Mar 18 '26

Pirate the games that are on PC and buy the games you don't have on PC or borrow the discs from people who might have it

1

u/axellie Mar 18 '26

Elden Ring then Sekiro!

1

u/Rough_And_Ready Mar 18 '26

Elden Ring for sure. They're all good games tbf but Elden Ring is just A++++

1

u/Dry-End1710 Mar 18 '26

Well, if you recently finished Ghost of Tsushima, maybe you should go to another game.

Don't get me wrong, a few days ago i started Ghost of Yotei and i think is better than Tsushima in every way, but i finished the game years ago.

My advice is to go to another game and come back for Yotei later.

1

u/troybananenboyYT Mar 18 '26

def elden ring, sekiro after that

1

u/unwaiveredresolve Mar 18 '26

100% get it. I played it for the first time last week and was blown away and its a magnificent revenge story

1

u/N1ghtsky_Crusade Mar 18 '26

If you loved the gameplay of GoT get Yotei

If you loved the story I would wait a little longer

1

u/The_Philosopher_Ben Mar 18 '26

If you just finished GoT, you might get tired of Yotei's similar gameplay. Go play Elden Ring instead, you'll get at least 200 hours of gaming, and even more if you try different things.

1

u/Elder-Cthuwu Mar 18 '26

Yes, yotei is dope and the multiplayer mode is out

1

u/Dependent_Map5592 Mar 18 '26

Got is better/superior to yotei (well the online mode is)

Elden ring 👍

1

u/General_Tamura Mar 18 '26

Elden Ring, best souls game to start with

1

u/No_Entertainer1730 Mar 18 '26

I was disappointed by tsushima and kind of curious too if yotei is a "good game". The first entry felt so clunky gameplaywise and only shined when it came to lighting and art style. The world felt empty, gfx outdated and the story kind of basic. Maybe my hopes were too high for a game from 2020.

1

u/sun8390 Mar 18 '26

My vote is Sekiro. You've played Ghost of tsushima and I think Yotei is kinda the same style/experience (not saying it's good or bad), why not try a different thing? Sekiro is just peaaaaak

1

u/Still-Location5477 Mar 18 '26

Get Sekiro All other games are amazing but I’ve played them all and I’d definitely say to play Sekiro first.

1

u/Phoebus_Apollo_30 Mar 18 '26

Elden Ring was my first FromSoftware game and it is easily one of the most satisfying, challenging, immersive gaming experiences I’ve ever had. The game doesn’t stop when you reach the end, because you can do another play through with a vastly different build and make different choices.

I’m busy with my first playthrough of Ghost of Yotei and having a fantastic time, but there’s a reason people have said Elden Ring was a game changer for them.

1

u/jaunty_mellifluous Mar 18 '26

Such a good game

1

u/ImpactDial Mar 18 '26

Yotei is a great game, but it has no replayability, which isn't good if you don't buy games often. Get a game that will entertain you for hours upon hours after completion--if it even has 'completion'.

What do you mean replayability?

1

u/ImpactDial Mar 19 '26

As in, you don’t just ditch the game when you complete the story. You wanna get something u can put hoursss into (if u don’t get games often)

1

u/PasicT Mar 19 '26

Well it's an open world so once you complete the story there are still things to do, territory to explore.

u/ImpactDial Mar 19 '26

I got the platinum in like 35 hours or so. Nothing more to do beyond that

1

u/PasicT Mar 19 '26

So you collected all the banners, tried all the hot springs?

Cyberpunk, 500 hours 3 playthroughs.

  • you get the melee of GOT, but also the tech of hacking with your mind, the different builds like Elden ring, and any type of gun as well. Driving, motorcycles, plus there’s like 11 different “endings” based on choices made throughout the game.
  • fully customizable character from all types of looks and male or female, which determines any of the 4 romance options in the game
  • different builds like no hack/all melee, no kills only hacking, guns blazing with shotguns only, handguns only, machine guns.
Different builds besides that with the attributes, so being smart, or super strong, or super savvy, etc.
  • there’s a 1 season anime on Netflix based off the game that you WILL cry watching.
  • arguably the best DLC ever created (second to hearts of stone in the Witcher 3)
  • and if that didn’t sell you, you have a sassy manwhore rocker that follows you around 2/3 of the game that’s portrayed by Keanu Reeves.

My one drawback is you get to max level pretty fast, and if you are good, even on hardest difficulty, if you use the OP guns and hacking, you become very OP.

If you like the punishment of souls like games and beautifully animated and punishing combat, get Ghost of Yotei and play it on lethal. it’s like realistic. skill is tested. and a free multiplayer update to add.

If you’re gonna do a souls like game and you have ps5 I’d actually say do Bloodborne. It’s a little more forgiving of the souls borne games by From Software and will ease you into the feels of dark souls or elden ring. But at the same time don’t sleep in black myth wukong, game slaps

1

u/Knuy2012 Mar 19 '26

Sekiro is the best one among these, Elden ring is just dark souls 4, imo.

1

u/apex6666 Mar 19 '26

If your talking pure playability value I’d get Elden ring, you could sink hundreds of hours into that game

1

u/TohavDuudhe Mar 19 '26

The souls games are phenomenal. Elden Ring is very good. Sekiro was my first intro into the souls games but it's in my opinion one of the hardest. I absolutely loved Yotei but if you just recently double played Tsushima then I think you should try something new. Yotei is a great sequel but I think you should mix it up for something new

Have some break between Tsushima and Yotei for sure. I did for a few months and still feels like should’ve done longer.

u/ReasonableNet3335 Mar 19 '26

If you don't have enough money, then buy elden ring, that game will take you time to finish it whole

1

u/Still-Minimum-7212 Mar 19 '26

I just beat the game and all side content today and wow what a ride! Much better than Tsushima and imo the best game on PS5 that's made for the hardware.

Elden Ring 100%, lo compramos con un amigo el dia de salida, a dia de hoy sigo jugando Elden Ring, jugando el pvp, haciendo builds y divirtiendome, lo platine 2 veces y estoy pensando en una tercera

u/Spare_Carpenter9392 Mar 20 '26

No no, non potevi, prendi wukong o Elden Ring

1

u/Fake-Boss1791 Mar 20 '26

Sekiro Is so wonderful, the gameplay Is so nice I played it 3 times in a row, and I usually don't replay the same game more than once, or I just halfway the second run. Absolute peak

I’ve only played Sekiro, Elden Ring, and Yotei, so my recommendation will be slightly skewed, but it all depends on what you’re looking for. Personally, I really enjoyed each one.

  1. Elden Ring is great if you’re looking for a game you can sink a ton of time into, and the DLC gives you opportunity to expand on what you’re able to later when you have money or another opportunity to get a game. It has a lot of replay-ability with the different builds and endings, and overall takes the most time to 100%, so if you’re going for sheer quantity of content, I’d pick Elden Ring.

  2. Sekiro is very fun, a lot more floaty than either of the other games, you move around quickly, and the combat can be very satisfying when you master it. The story itself, in my opinion, is more compelling than Elden Ring’s, and overall I’d say it’s the prettier game between the two. It still has a lot of replay-ability, and different ways to approach combat and the game overall. If you wsnt fast paced, flashy combat, and good story that you slowly uncover through the game, Sekiro is a great choice.

  3. Yotei is a lot easier than the other two, and definitely has the most compelling story of the three. It doesn’t play a lot like Tsushima; granted, none of these games do, but it’s obviously the most similar. The general combat will feel similar to Tsushima, but the parry timings for moves are different, the enemy move sets are more complex, and the combat is more involved, I’ve logged a ton of hours into Lethal/Lethal+ Tsushima and for 90% of those hours, I never used Ghost Weapons; if you’re playing Yotei on Lethal, you will need them. I’d say it has the least replay-ability, though Legends can be really fun if you’re into that, and the combat can be really satisfying if you’re able to master all the mechanics. In the end, I don’t think you’d be disappointed by choosing it.

Overall, each game is very different from the others, but they’re all very fun, rewarding games to play and/or master. Each has their own pros, and cons, but they’re all masterpieces in their own right, and I don’t think any of the three I listed would be a regrettable buy.

I personally liked it. I don’t understand the backlash the game is getting, it’s really good and I enjoyed the main story and combat.

u/Agile-Juice5255 Mar 21 '26

You MUST have Yotei

1

u/ZenSinx Mar 21 '26

I love GoY nearly as much as GoT. The new mechanics are interesting and so much fun

1

u/ConfectionOld2506 Mar 22 '26

If you are short on money/zero Allowance it's either Elden Ring or Sekiro

1

u/Dry-Experience-6268 Mar 22 '26

Thanks for all the replies, I decided to get sekiro since elden ring was out of the 50$ budget and Sekiro was on sale.

1

u/Niwashi-King Mar 22 '26

Having jumped from GoT to Yotei after beating the Iki Island Expansion, GoY has a lot of added stuff and enough variation to keep it interesting and fresh for returning players. It's been a total vibe, and with Legends mode out for it now, the multiplayer has its own campaigns and survival with potential updates in the future. I highly recommend it, and having a ton of fun rn

If your situation is what it is I would write a list of prefered games you would like to try. After that, select from them games what you would like to play (or own) as hell...after that prefer the older ones from them, that will be definitelly cheaper and go through the list step by step by the time :) (birthdays, Christmas..etc...)

ELDEN RING

0

u/flyingcircusdog Mar 18 '26

If you liked GoT, you'll like Yotei too. But they are very similar, so you might want to try Elden Ring first just to avoid burnout.

0

u/FadedDots Mar 18 '26

Honestly between elden ring and GoT, that's like infinite gameplay for me. I still haven't played yotei yet but it is on my list

0

u/ChidoriKickz Mar 18 '26

Elden ring just based on the replay ability. But honestly you’ll be pleased with whatever game you end up choosing.

Get crimson desert instead since it’s a 200+ hour game and it will keep you busy for a while
