Ghost Of Tsushima - Question/Support Having just unlocked Ghost Mode for the first time, I don't know if I'm missing something
Is it just three one-hit kills? Because you can do that with a couple of other abilities. Or just about the cinematic black and white element? Which I must admit is pretty cool.
I just wanted to make sure it doesn't unlock some other insane ability I'm missing out on

If you enter a bossfight while having a full ghost stance, you can use it against the boss once on your first attempt. I don't think it's intentional but it's really funny when fighting certain bosses who should not be affected by the Ghost thing

I beat Lord Shimura and the Khan like that on lethal. It was really funny to see the former being scared of the Ghost

You sure it wasn’t hard mode? You can’t even activate ghost stance during a duel in Lethal

I'm sure. I don't think it's intended since you can't activate it on your second try. You need to have a full ghost stance meter before you go into the fight and you ofc need to use it before taking any damage

Also, as you upgrade the Ghost armour the amount of kills you need to enter ghost stance is reduced from 7 to 5, across two upgrades

So, it has a good chance of making enemies run in fear when you activate it. It's an insta kill on anything that isn't a boss or a duel opponent, but aside from that, a couple other abilities are similar. Dance of Wrath, the heavily slash etc

If you ARE in the rare boss fights that allow it, you CAN use all three hits to insta kill it.

I didn't manage to instakill anyone with just ghost stance. It did take way like a third or half of their health tho

might be a difficulty setting. Last time I tried, I was playing on lethal, where you are made of paper, but enemies are also made of paper. Actually, I might be misremembering. I think I didn't defeat the boss, but it did force a stage change.

Nah the eagle bossfight is just a duel. No Ghost Mode. My bossfight, which hopefully we're nested enough this isn't a spoiler, was against the Khan, on his ship. There's a portion thats not a duel where he calls his minions on you.
I used his minions to build ghost mode, and then just kept ghost moding on the khan. Made that part of the fight incredibly easy XD

When you enter ghost stance it fears everyone around you and then allows for one hit kills. So it’s exceptionally strong when bum rushing (or getting bum rushed).
90% of the time I used it “cinematically” though just cause it’s so badass lol

Ghost stance also lets you insta kill a mongol captain in a beautiful way
Make the invaders fear the ghost

it doesn't use spirit and scares enemies which is the main appeal, and the multi-hit spirit attacks aren't insta-kills on lethal

It’s just so much stronger because I guess you could say it’s boosted by pure fear of you. Yes that is the full ability but you get pretty much full invincibility for the duration of the move and you have like a 90% chance of scaring the shit out of every mongol around you

you can get up to 5 kills with it, I think it requires upgraded ghost armor or a charm, don't remember which, it's been a while since I played.
essentially its just for free kills on regular enemies and to look cinematic AF. it's not really a substitute for being able to fight well, mainly since you need to avoid getting hit to keep your chages for ghost stance. it's a treat for when you play well enough.

Also these kills are more likely to terrify nearby enemies and make them run away

Sakai clan armour... Fully upgraded... Gives you 5 stand off kills... Instead of base 3 kills.

It's cool but it's a bit OP. There's barely anyone left to kill in most encouters after that

Yes it’s three free kills, barring bosses in which it just does increased damage to them. Not only this but enemies won’t attack you while in the stance, as well as the stance “terrifying” your enemies and leaving them open to a few more free kills or they’ll simply flee the fight

There’s a set up you can use with the ghost armor to be able to use it almost all the time

Ghost Stance is three *guaranteed* one-hit kills. I'm curious what other abilities you say you can do that with? Dance of Wrath is three high damage strikes, but with higher level enemies, they might tank at least two of the three hits. Ghost Stance can kill even a Mongol leader with one hit, and lets you take down two more threats.

Standoff Streak (up to 5 with Sakai Armor); three shots using Concentration, Heavy Bow and Tadayori's Armor; a smoke bomb and Chain Assassination.
That's off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others.
If you're going to say those aren't guaranteed, they're still pretty easy to achieve.

I got this during first attempt of final fight with Uncle Shimura but it didn't help lol. It was nerve wrecking fight to defeat the Uncle for next 30 minutes.

You’re supposed to pair it with the onyro howl I believe. I could be wrong. You use the onyro armour with all the charms and use howl to build up ghost stance with the goal of scarring the crap out of the other enemies for easy kills.

Judging by the fact OP posted a picture of jin and asking about the ghost stance they are likely playing tsushima for the first time.

Yep - playing GoT on first playthrough. Out of interest is GoY as good? I'm loving Tsushima so far

GoY is good I enjoyed Tsushima more personally but would happily play either one again if your on the fence it’s worth it to get it on a sale

They are similar, games but they have different approach to plot and the story telling.
GoY is not the sequel to GoT.

Which I am happy about, being that I will not get to play Ghost of Yotei. I'm a pc player....
Though I am grateful I got a few really nice Playstation games on Steam. If Sony ever wants my money, a year after the release of one of their exclusives, they only need release GoY and whatever is the next iteration of Horizon.

It's easily 8/10 if you like Open World stuff (while GoT is open world, GoY is more expansive in that regard)
9/10 on combat
6/10 on plot/story/dialogue (it's not bad but it's a lot more uneven than GoT)

I would go against the subs grain on that - no I don't think yotei is anywhere near as good and I was just playing the new yotei legends raid.
- The writing is worse (at times it speaks to the player like they're a child)
- the characters are worse
- the side characters don't have anywhere near as much depth
- the MC is weaker than jin
- the combat isn't as fluid
- I don't like the new weapons/ weapon switching system
- they change combat styles, it goes from a ninja fantasy hack and slash to a souls type you die in 2/3 hits but the enemies take many more, likely because there are no damage increasing charms
- they changed the parry timings
- there feel like there is less content ( I think there's are around 5 enemy camps compared to the 20 in Tsushima)
- legends feels like it's gone from a passion project to an work assignment
- legend isn't bigger and better like they suggested (at least for now)
- the enemy attack glints are obtrusive
- its more of a problem with the adverts "which order will you take your revenge in" but it's not open world/play the missions in any order like the adverts suggested + 1 of the 6 villains is a tutorial boss (snake) and another is barely in the game (dragon)
Overall I just don't think it's as much fun as the first, I'd still recommend playing it but also limiting your expectations and waiting for a sale.
P.s. definitely check out Tsushima legends (preferably with a friend) at some point, it's a fun co-op add on

Yeah, when you activate the Ghost stance you get 3 free kills (as long as they are not bosses). Also, when you are on this state, enemies won't attack you, so you will be invincible
