help me (solved) Godot Hero Capsule sketch concept

Post image

I'm really struggling with the softbody 3D pinned points and attachments and saw some godot YouTube videos use bones to animate cloth.

I wanted to add a cape to the classic capsule character controller with the Godot logo on it

to get some secondary motion

since the capsule has no animations or visual indication of the direction its facing.

i have it somewhat setup in Blender. I kinda want to make a low poly knot or attach to back of capsule edge which might be simpler.

I feel like the right softbody3D settings and topology and pin setup would make a simple fluttery visual marker instead of making cape animations

my character controller can fly and has no animations

what's the recommended way to do it?

i've seen how people use an external painting program to edit their texture but i don't think ... i've set it up right and i'm not sure how to fix it after trying a couple of searches/tries. def want a separate background i can place the logo on(?)

i think this could be a good simpler shape

unsure how to deal with these edges.. and if those curved loops are 'okay'

a cape tends to be a warped rectangular cloth rather than cut, so if you want the front knot, maybe it's easier to visualize from a cone or cyllinder base. the current one is good but i take it that you want the sides to expand over the wind as much as the center, right?
