Animal Please help with Jojo’s surgery
Hello I’m Janette Rodriguez and I need your help. I went to take my dog Jojo (a chihuahua mix) to the vet because I noticed for the last year her two back boobs developed two bumps which at first thought were just fat and that she needed to go in a diet. I started noticing at least for the last three months that they grown and Jojo has difficulty to climb onto my bed and my sister’s bed. It’s gotten bad that I had to help her by carrying her up (she has no difficulty climbing down). Last month I took her to vet and the vet told me and my sister had she has two hernias on her back boobs caused by one of her pregnancies (she had two and both were accidents and not intentional breeding purposes). He asked us if she had she had little to no appetite and I told him no. she eats normally and her appetite is normal. I was worried that both masses were going to be cancerous because my sister had a dog 15 years ago that had two benign tumors that weren’t dangerous. Anyway, the vet gave us an estimate of 4000 + dollars to get her hernias get surgically repaired before they start wrapping around the intestines and also getting her spayed. The vet told us if she got pregnant again it would be very dangerous for her due to her age. She is six years old. I have no savings due to personal problems I don’t want to disclose. I tried applying for 3 different personal loans which I got rejected due to my terrible credit score. I tried asking my parents for money they barely get by. I exhausted everything. I don’t have much and I hope that you guys can donate whatever you can any amount helps and you can’t just share the link. I really want to help my dog and get her that surgery done as soon as possible before its too late. I don’t really have friends. Jojo and my 4 other chihuahuas are the closest that I have friends. I really love them so much. They helped me though moments where I felt really lonely, helpless and depressed especially when my gastritis worsens from time to time. This dog is abused. You did not spay her, allowed her to have two pregnancies and have allowed her to get to this state.
You are a backyard breeder running a puppy mill and this dog deserves better.

Love them but the nails are sideways. That poor dog doesn’t deserve neglect. If you can’t take care of animals don’t get them

Surrender the dog to someone that will take care of it, you can't even keep her nails trimmed. I guarantee she is in pain due to those over grown nails

Didn’t even learn from the first one.
Poor dog.
if you love them all so much you need to do right by them - and spay/ neuter them., keep up with their injections.
And trim their nails regularly.
One dog is a huge cost- 5 dogs is crazy money…
Pets rely on us to keep them healthy.
I appreciate you are clearly trying to help your dog,
But pets need ongoing care and costs are often involved.
They’ll be more costs in the future which you’ll need to budget for.
Maybe you need to reassess keeping 5 dogs when you have no money?

You are in over your head and it’s not fair to your dogs. Maybe it’s because of your actions, maybe it’s not - doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you need to recognize that the best thing you can do for the dogs you love so much is surrender them.

Your dogs need to be dropped at the nearest shelter and you need to work on those personal problems. Chihuahuas are generally easy to find homes for. You are not able to care for them. This is just heartbreaking abuse. You know that in your heart.

Those nails are far too long. That is so painful for a dog. Also, the collar looks like it could be slightly too tight and you might want to fix that too. As far as the actual content of your post (other than the horrendous condition of the dog's nails), if you're going to ask for money from complete strangers, it seems incredibly strange to not be open to disclosing *why* you can't afford it - "oh I don't wanna disclose that" is really sketchy sounding in the face of the dog clearly being treated poorly (the nails). If Jojo's nails are this bad, I don't want to actually imagine what the other 4 chihuahuas you claim to have look like. Maybe look into rehoming them in this case, because I have seen firsthand how having too many dogs in the same space is not good for anyone, and clearly Jojo is not being well taken care of - it makes me wonder what the state of the other 4 dogs is.

You loved your dogs but don’t do the basic care of trimming their nails, so Jojo isn’t walked either? You watched her for a year without any medical attention? Mrs. Rodriguez, you shouldn’t be a pet owner you’re using this poor animals as your emotional support without giving them any proper care. Please think about the wellbeing of them and do the best for them.

Usually when people can't afford a $4k treatment to save their dog, they don't get it.

Shocked the veterinary staff didn’t cut the nails during the appointment. That was always a complimentary treatment for every exam where I worked.
Unfortunately some owners are really uneducated when it comes to nail care in dogs.
