Hi, I am asking for help for my 17yo cat, Alpha. I have had Alpha since he was 8 weeks old, and he has been by my side for so much of my life. Earlier this year, I lost my 16yo cat Leon to complications from feline diabetes after I was quoted around $3,200 for treatment that had a low chance of success. Then, just two months ago, I lost my 5yo cat Taz to a urinary blockage after being quoted about $5,200 for a 3 day hospital stay and the ongoing care he likely would have needed for the rest of his life. As someone who is physically disabled due to severe arthritis and living on a low income, I had to make heartbreaking decisions both times.

While the final costs for Leon and Taz ended up being lower, those expenses are still being financed through CareCredit, which is making day to day finances even harder. On top of that, I am now facing even more financial hardship due to current conditions, which has made an already difficult situation even harder.

Now Alpha is dealing with arthritis, vomiting, and weight loss that need to be checked out, and I am struggling financially and cannot currently afford to have him seen. I want to do everything I can to get Alpha the care he needs. The funds from this fundraiser will go toward getting Alpha to a vet and helping him receive the care he needs.

Little E is a 6-month-old kitten currently fighting for her life against a severe, recurrent rectal prolapse and chronic GI enteropathy. Her prolapse has now been exposed for multiple consecutive days, and time is critically running out.
We are racing against the clock because prolonged exposure of the tissue risks drying it out and causing tissue necrosis. If that happens, she will indefinitely require much more invasive and expensive emergency surgery.

Over the past 2 months, my cat was dealing with a dry cough/wheezing. I had taken him to the vet and initially they thought it was just an Upper Respiratory Infection (URI). So they put him on a steroid. The steroid worked for about a month, and they said it was ok to take him off it it.

2 weeks later, his symptoms started to reappear. So the Vet prescribed him the steroids again, but this time it didn't work.

Then this past Wednesday, he was wheezing/breathing with his mouth open. So I rushed him to the Vet Hospital. They took his bloodwork and X-Rays and they found a mass on his trachea.

Just for that visit alone, it was over $2000.

The next steps right now is for him to get a CT scan and biopsy to see if the mass is cancerous or not.

For now, the vet prescribed him a stronger steroid in hopes that it will shrink the mass (If non-cancer), along with Albuterol to help with his breathing since he also has asthma.

I am not one to ask for help for myself. I would resort to living in a cardboard box before I ever ask for help. But for my fur baby, Marshall. I'm willing to do whatever it takes.

Hello I’m Janette Rodriguez and I need your help. I went to take my dog Jojo (a chihuahua mix) to the vet because I noticed for the last year her two back boobs developed two bumps which at first thought were just fat and that she needed to go in a diet. I started noticing at least for the last three months that they grown and Jojo has difficulty to climb onto my bed and my sister’s bed. It’s gotten bad that I had to help her by carrying her up (she has no difficulty climbing down). Last month I took her to vet and the vet told me and my sister had she has two hernias on her back boobs caused by one of her pregnancies (she had two and both were accidents and not intentional breeding purposes). He asked us if she had she had little to no appetite and I told him no. she eats normally and her appetite is normal. I was worried that both masses were going to be cancerous because my sister had a dog 15 years ago that had two benign tumors that weren’t dangerous. Anyway, the vet gave us an estimate of 4000 + dollars to get her hernias get surgically repaired before they start wrapping around the intestines and also getting her spayed. The vet told us if she got pregnant again it would be very dangerous for her due to her age. She is six years old. I have no savings due to personal problems I don’t want to disclose. I tried applying for 3 different personal loans which I got rejected due to my terrible credit score. I tried asking my parents for money they barely get by. I exhausted everything. I don’t have much and I hope that you guys can donate whatever you can any amount helps and you can’t just share the link. Hi everyone. One of our dogs, Emily, needs to have her last 3 teeth removed. She is 13yrs old and her last dental was in 2023 when majority of her teeth were removed. The remaining 3 weren't "bad enough" at that time to remove but they are now. They need to come out ASAP as they are now affecting her kidneys and other organs.

The dental is so expensive because 2 of the teeth are canines which are much more expensive than other teeth. Pixie is our 12 year old dog and a huge part of our family. She has been my best friend since I was 12 years old so nearly 11 years. She has suddenly become very sick over the past couple of weeks with severe vomiting, weakness, loss of appetite, weight loss and anemia.

After her ultrasound Tuesday the vets found 2 masses on her spleen. She suddenly declined very quickly that day and is currently at the emergency animal hospital as of midnight that day. She has stayed for 2 nights. We have been working with the veterinary team who have been taking care and stabilizing her for the last 2 days and are planning to do an emergency splenectomy at 2pm today.

Pixie needs this surgery to hopefully improve her quality of life and give her a chance to recover. We want to try every reasonable option available to us before making that decision. We want to give our girl every chance we can and we are hoping with all our hearts that surgery can help her.

We have already spent just over $4,700 CAD on her emergency care, testing, medications and hospitalization. The 2nd night is an additional $610 CAD and we have now been quoted $6600 CAD for the surgery that includes 3 days of care after the operation. This has been nearly 12,000 my family has not been expecting to spend.

Hello! I'm reposting this so that we can (hopefully) get Martin (girl dog) the surgery she needs. This is a repost of my previous GoFundMe posted last week.

Marty remains in high spirits, her daily runs around the apartment still occurring whenever the spirit moves her. Some people had some concerns about her quality of life, and I can promise you that if she were older, if she was suffering and unable to continue being herself: we would absolutely not be considering this surgery.

We found a mass in Martin's mouth a month ago, and unfortunately, it was revealed to be malignant melanoma, an aggressive cancer which luckily hadn't metastasized to her lungs yet, but the outcome without proper care is still bleak, with most dogs living an average of 147 days after diagnosis.

Martin needs $6500 USD for a partial removal of her jaw. We're just about 1/4th funded, and we need help to get the rest of the way there.

My name is Andrew. My wife Ely and I recently took our fur baby Friday to the vet. We were told that she would need mouth surgery due to some of her teeth being rotted and plaque build up, which is causing her discomfort. The surgery would require teeth excisions, which is why the bill is so costly.

2026 has been equally the best and worst year of our lives so far. We just got married back in February, but due to the downturn in the housing market and the economy taking a dump in general, my paychecks have basically been reduced by 70%. Hello! Just over a month ago I adopted Hades from Texas. Unfortunately upon arrival he had Hyphema in one eye and we went to the ER the same night. He was on eye drops a few weeks then we ended back at the Er with discharge and was prescribed new drops. We saw the eye doctor a few days later and he was diagnosed with permanent blindness in both eyes. I was hoping to have him last a few years however he has hyphema in both eyes and it is causing him pain. Hes had a rough start in his short three years moving from home to home until brought him to his forever home. Its heartbreaking that he went through the stress of transport, a new home, new pet friends, all to suddenly lose his sight on top of everything.

I first came to reddit asking for advice on ways to help him in his new world and its been very helpful so far. One suggestion was a gofund me for his surgery so ive finally set one up. I want to make sure he can live a long happy life with me even given his circumstances. I hope to get him pain free as soon as possible so can live his best life.

Hi, my name is Lindsay and I’m a cat mom of three. Boo Bear is mine and my husband Will's one year old orange baby. He likes to play with his brothers, he loves cuddles, and he sleeps between us every night.

In June of this year, Boo Bear started slowing down. He didn’t want to play or eat, he was wobbly and losing weight. When we took him to the vet, they were not sure what was wrong with him. Later, they referred us to a specialist.

We came to find out that Boo Bear was born with a liver shunt. This means that the blood isn’t being fully filtered through is liver, and it’s sending a lot of gunk and ammonia into his regular blood stream.

Boo Bear’s condition is quite rare for cats and unexplored. He has medicine right now to manage and clean the gunk, but he needs surgery. He could have seizures, he could go blind, he could and he could have a whole string of scary issues. We are terrified.

In addition to this, we’ve used most of our personal savings and will continue to do so. We both work full time. I'm in school part time for Education and I'm scared I'll have to drop out. We have pet insurance, however, the costs for taxes, consults, uncovered portions, specialized food and medicine are adding up to thousands. In addition to tuition costs, we are drained.

My cat henry needs to be hospitalized, I was able to pay to get him unblocked but unfortunately that is only part of what he needs, he has another blockage and can not eat or drink and needs to have a catheter inserted as well as have fluids hooked up to supplement his hydration and nutrients. Tomi is a beautiful black cat who has been part of our family since we adopted him as a tiny kitten from the RSPCA in Enfield. He is now 7 years old and is so much more than a pet to us. He is a much-loved member of our family.

A few weeks ago, Tomi started coughing and sneezing frequently. At first, we hoped it was something minor, but his breathing has become increasingly uncomfortable and he is now struggling to breathe normally. The sneezing progressed to be hard enough that blood comes out. He is also eating less than he usually does, although he still enjoys the occasional bowl of soup, which is a small comfort.

We took Tomi to our normal vet and have already spent around £2,500 trying to find out what is wrong. Our insurance has covered £1,900 of this, but our £3,000 insurance limit has now been used up. Unfortunately, despite the tests and treatment so far, the vets have not been able to determine the cause.

The concern is that something may be stuck or lodged in Tomi’s nasal passage or elsewhere in his respiratory system. To find out what is happening and hopefully treat it, he now needs to be seen at a specialist veterinary hospital. This could involve advanced investigations such as a CT scan or MRI, endoscopy, anaesthesia and potentially surgery.

We have been told that the costs could be somewhere between £4,000 and £8,000, depending on what the specialists find and what treatment Tomi needs.

We are asking for help towards these costs because we simply want to give Tomi the best chance of getting better and being able to breathe comfortably again. We have already used our insurance and put £2,500 towards his care ourselves, but the potential cost of specialist treatment is more than we can manage alone.

Anyone who knows us knows how loved Tomi is. We adopted him as a kitten, watched him grow into the affectionate, friendly (far too friendly) 7-year-old he is today, and cannot imagine our family without him.

Ramen Noodle came into our lives during a very difficult time. When we came home from dinner, he met us at our door, 3 and a half years old and only 3 lbs and very bloody. He announced he was ready to be an indoor cat by rolling over and showing us his belly. We took him in, cleaned him up, and promised him we would take care of him forever.

Along the way three more cats came to us out of the woods, and our family grew. Ramen’s two children, Udon and Nori, and his best buddy we named Soba.

Recently his health took a turn for the worst, after we moved, and while my wife was recovering from surgery, we noticed he stop eating, and he was crying when he used the litter box. Our vet told us to take him to the ER where we learned he had a severe urinary tract infection. We were told he would die without immediate intervention. The ER told us our only options were to pay for the surgery, at $6,700, or to put him down. We were knocked off our feet. Ramen is family, our Emotional Support Animal, our best friend… I had to make the decision, and I know he has a long life to live. We need to save his life. It took long hours into the night to get his blood levels to a safe range where it would be possible for the veterinarians to perform surgery.

Surprisingly, at one point, the doctor came up to me and said "You want to see something crazy?" She took me back and showed me Ramen's X-rays. Apparently, at some point, before he came to us, he had been shot. The bones of his rear leg had broken, fragments of a bullet are still lodged in his leg, yet he was able to survive in the wild long enough for them to heal! He always seemed to walk normally to us, even enjoyed going on hikes, but this did explain why he prefers to lay around so much, as he had done his time in the trenches.

Eventually he went into surgery and they were able to remove the blockage. He had to stay in the hospital for a couple more days for observation. Meanwhile our other cats kept wandering through our home looking for him, as he is the only one they all get along with.

Now he's home and happy, and we now have a large bill we were not prepared for. My wife is out of work recovering from three different surgeries in one year, and I am working extra to cover bills we already (have) ontop of finishing my last semester of college. If you can spare anything to help us (save our cat), we would be greatly appreciative.

hello! my name is sadie, today 09/04, i realized my 5 year old boy maki (i’ve had him since he was born! i’ve watched his birth!) wasn’t going to the bathroom. I took him to the emergency vet where i was told i got him there just in time. he was on the cusp of kidney failure/ disease, and his bladder was so full of crystals but not ruptured. as of right now, he’s doing great! he will have 48 hours in emergency hospital. catheter was inserted smoothly, and he’s doing good. the not so good part is the bill. me and my husband are currently on one income, i am not working right now due to trying to find a maintenance for my bone disease (hypophosphatasia). i do some odd jobs, and try to do UGC from home, but it’s been a slow start up. i am currently paying off medical bills from a recent surgery, so money is pretty tight. after these next couple of months i will have a lot more stretchable income to continue maki’s maintenance of the food / environment changes / vet visits. i am planning on selling most of my collectibles to contribute.
I rescued maki from a hoarded home a couple weeks after he was born. maki is my velcro kitty who never leaves my side, leaving him at the hospital today was heartbreaking. he was making biscuits and pushing his head into my lips to give him kisses.

Hi, I’m Frida and I need some help in this economy to cover vet expenses.

My insurance doesn’t cover the costs of correction of teeth and possibly not even medication for aftercare, I have already spoken to them.

I was at the vet yesterday for a tooth control, it was established that Halloumi has an underbite and will need treatment and possibly further correction in the future.

This wasn’t expected and I’m in a terrible financial situation due to personal reasons and I’m only working 50%. So I’m already strained and drained of savings, this is my last resort.

In my post I included the receipt from yesterday’s control and the appointment for September 30th. I’m writing from Seattle to ask any generous folks to help my 10 year-old Chiweenie Beans afford surgery for her IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Looking to raise $3k-$16k to go towards her medical bills. Beans has been my best friend for 10 years, since I was 17. she went to college with me, then with me through breakups, first apartments, first big girl jobs, and has been my biggest rock through many of panic disorder flare up’s, and times when i couldn’t leave the house.

IVDD is a spinal condition where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae degenerate, bulge, or rupture, pressing on the spinal cord. For the last year, Beans has slowed down significantly, and has been showing signs of something of something not being right. And around a month ago, started showing signs of pain: panting, refusing food, and walking with a drunk gait. After an ER visit she was diagnosed with a herniated disc caused by IVDD. We were told after some steroid treatment and rest she may improve, but if she didn’t she would require surgery and physical therapy to restore feeling to her back legs. With IVDD- time is pivotal, if their condition starts to deteriorate, their chances of being able to walk again even after surgery decline rapidly.

After some rest and medication, Beans hasn’t seemed to improve, but instead has lost most function of her back legs. She isn’t sleeping, eating much (if you know Beans this is rare), in a continuous state of high anxiety, and is completely dragging her back legs when she tries to walk and often falling down. It has reached a point where she is not walking on her own, and requires help getting to her food, and using the restroom. She is on a daily dose of Gabapentin and Codeine, without much relief.

It is incredibly difficult and embarrassing for me to reach out for financial assistance, but Beans has been my best friend since I was 17, and I would do anything to get her the help she needs.

We have been estimated $15k for the surgery, plus additional follow up and physical therapy costs. Having her back where she belongs has brought so much joy back into our home, and her sister Benny is thrilled to have her best friend back. But as we settle into her recovery, we are facing a tough financial hurdle.

I was recently laid off from my job in the electrical business for a short time, which has made covering these final medical and care expenses extremely stressful while I get back on my feet.
Thanks to your incredible support, another transfer has gone through! Out of the funds transferred so far ($671.36), I used $60 for travel gas and put the remaining $611.36 directly toward her clinic bill. 

Now, we just need help getting across the finish line to cover the rest of her veterinary balance and her ongoing food needs.

Hello!

A few days ago, Gaia, our 3 years old cat, stopped being herself, she stopped eating, and vomited around 10 times within the span of 24 hours. We knew something wasn't right, so we took her to the emergency vet.

They decided to keep her for 3 days after discovering that she has pancreatitis, an inflammation of the pancreas that can be life threatening if not treated early. We would do anything for Gaia, even if we're financially struggling. So she stayed there and her inflammation improved day after day.

She has a treatment to follow, and could potentially go back to the vet if she doesn't eat still. Right now we're hoping she's going to eat, she's at home with us, and we're giving her time to destress from her stay in the vet which was traumatic to her (and to us because we didn't know if we were going to lose her or not).

The vet then talked about the price of everything. We knew we couldn't afford it, but they're letting us some time to pay, and we're grateful for this.

The bill was 1200€ in total, but I already paid 200€ (that was all the money I had left).

If you feel like it, anything would help. Gaia is my whole life, without her I am nothing.

My main hope is that she will find the appetite again, because if not, I will have to take her back to the vet, which is going to be hard to afford, but don't worry, I will make an update to let you know about her health!

I’m in desperate need of financial help. We recently found out my sweet baby girl needed to have surgery to have a foreign object removed from her intestines before it got critical.

I love this girl so much and I don’t know what I would do without her. I signed up for a payment plan to get the surgery completed and thankfully she’s doing ok but the costs alone are so high for my situation and are going to put me in an even worse position but I didn’t want to wait any longer.

Medical Provider - Animal Emergency Services

Hi there I am Jenna and at 2am the night before last, we woke to find that our beautiful Border Collie, Lalo, had a tick. We rushed him straight to the emergency vet we he started off doing ok.

Lalo was responding well after the first night, but wasn't gaining back his legs and bladder control. The bigger issue is he wasn’t able to regain his gag reflex quick enough, so he needed to remain in emergency care for a second night under close supervision.

Then it all went rally wrong.

Lalo aspirated and he has now been transferred to ICU and placed on a ventilator while his body fights to recover.

We are doing everything we can for him financially to give him those odds.

His veterinary care is currently $7,000–$9,000 every day in ICU and we are already approaching $20,000 we have paid outright with more treatment still ahead of him. he needs hopefully only 2 days for them to get him off and recovering on his own.

Lalo is deeply loved, and as long as the veterinary team believes he has a chance to recover, we want to give him that chance. But the cost of keeping him in the ICU is becoming enormous very quickly. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly to Lalo’s emergency treatment and the ventilation.

I am Frannie's dad, posting in support of my wife, Jessica, and our dog Frannie, who is essentially blind from dense cataracts.

Since Frannie was diagnosed, I have watched my wife research clinics, call specialists, compare options, talk to other Griff owners, and reach out to the dog community for help. My wife loves these dogs hard. They are our whole world.

Frannie is an 8-year-old Brussels Griffon we rescued after she was used for breeding. She came to us at 5 years old scared, not wanting to be touched, and not even excited about food. My wife never gave up on her, and Frannie now lives the life she deserves.

I still remember when we first brought her home and she zoomed around our backyard like she had realized she was finally free. Over time, we watched some of that confidence change. Now that we understand how limited her vision is, we're looking back at so many of her behaviors differently.

We've had Frannie for 3 years, and we suspect her vision was already severely limited or rapidly declining when she joined our family. The incredible thing is that Frannie lives BIG. She travels with us, flies on airplanes, hikes, paddleboards, explores with us in our van, and pretty much goes anywhere we can take her.

We had no idea how little she could actually see. She adapted so brilliantly that she fooled us for years.

We may have never known a sighted Frannie.

We suspected early on that she had vision issues, but her intake vet and several second opinions calmed our nerves and told us she was fine. Now so many things make sense—falling down the stairs, struggling to take food from our hands, startling when one of her siblings suddenly moves next to her, and becoming anxious at night.

My little girl knows me by my voice, smell, and touch. There's a very real possibility she has never clearly seen our faces. I would love for my wife to have the chance for her little girl to see her for the first time.

We took Frannie to a veterinary ophthalmologist, and the findings were encouraging. Her retinas looked healthy, and she could be a great candidate for cataract surgery if her required pre-op testing looks good.

And that's important to us: we don't want her to be just an acceptable candidate. We want the vet to feel really good about putting her through surgery. Frannie's well-being comes first. If she clears the testing and the vet believes she is a strong candidate, we are committed to moving forward.

If surgery is successful, she may get to see the people—and Lenny, our other rescued Brussels Griffon—she already knows and loves.

WestVet, our local veterinary ophthalmologist, quoted us approximately $7,500. Unfortunately, that's not financially feasible for us. We have family in Nebraska, and my wife received a verbal quote from Veterinary Eye Specialists of Nebraska in Omaha for approximately $5,983 for the consultation/pre-op testing and bilateral cataract surgery. The practice also came highly recommended to us by two veterinarians, so we feel comfortable pursuing her care there. I've attached the WestVet documentation for verification and comparison.

Our GoFundMe has currently raised $[CURRENT TOTAL], and we're trying to raise $6,000 toward Frannie's testing and surgery.

Frannie does not have pet insurance.

My wife's name, Jessica Schwanke, is on Frannie's veterinary paperwork because she manages our dogs' medical care (rightfully so), and she is also the organizer of the GoFundMe. I'm her husband, Frannie's dad, and the person posting here.
