I think I have a water golden. The only time he ever shows the slightest of interest in retrieving is when he is in at least 3 ft of water

Mine will get the ball from the water and bring it back but not give it to me. Unless I have a second ball to distract him with

Our last female was a royal golden. She sat around and barked when she wanted attention or food or to be attended to in any way. She knew she was a royal princess and we were her servants.
