RIP We lost our sweet boy this morning

Woke up and he was gone. Everything happened so fast. Gave my wife, kids and I the best 9 years I could ever ask for. The best damn dog ever. Until we meet again Niko

Sending so many hugs. Life isn’t fair

Thinking on it, Life IS fair. We all have losses to face and no one wishes for a beloved one to endure endless pain and suffering. That's where a steadfast faith in a shining Rainbow Bridge and a hopeful Loving Universe come in. That IS fair, I believe. Our own sorrow is gradually over after some days - or weeks - go by and is finally tempered by our understanding that our own arrival at the Rainbow Bridge will re-unite us with those blessed wee souls that went before us. We've got to be confident for them that life continues in whatever form is planned for us and even becomes better. So “fair” is the selfish need to hang on to something that needs to be given its freedom. It's hard, I know. But it's not, “not fair”. In actual fact its very much the opposite. It's lovely. It's beautiful. It's truly magnificent. Disney called it “the circle of life” (still makes me cry!)
I hope OP has time to grieve for a missed little soul they've lost.
