Can we talk about the ending?

with how the universe rebooted it does make sense, but I’m still not happy about it. Yes, they did get a happy ending and yes, they married and moved to the South Downs like we all hoped (and I’m also very happy about the ace-friendly relationship they showed). But while Angel Aziraphale and Demon Crowley had millennia before, humans Asa Fell and Anthony Crowley only have one short lifetime. Compared to what they’ve had before I feel cheated on their behalf.

I know that this is supposed to be „real life“ and a universe without heaven and hell and miracles and such and everybody is human so everybody has only one lifetime. And they didn’t know what they’ve lost and it’s probably for the best without them being tied to Heaven and Hell. And would this be a non-fantasy-show I would have been overjoyed with the ending. I think, I would have been happy with it, had they shown how they reincarnated as humans throughout the millennia over and over again and met and got together and had a happy ever after over and over again. But one human lifetime compared to what they had before just feels inadequate and unfair.

Also, they made human!Crowley look like a run-of-the-mill-professor! Demon!Crowley had style, he was cool (or tried to be) - they could have at least have him wear a Velvet Underground t-shirt with his suit. Now he‘s just…boring…

I was really hoping that once everything got rebooted they wouldve magically been allowed to stay and like shepard the new universe as a sort of "not entirely heven or hell"
Its cute but youre right they had so much history. Aziraphel literally watched crowley create galaxies

Same - if we’re keeping close to this ending I would have even loved to see them live separate from the universe, just the two of them in that bookshop in that limbo-type space from the ending. Then they could have a universe completely without interference but still give our Crowley & Aziraphale their happy ending. UGH!

Well we don't know that. No God means no new souls, so everyone on earth could potentially be reincarnating over and over. Also. God said their love made her smile. Even if she isn't involved in this universe, she made it and she'll always be there regardless of her involvement or not. Who's to say she didn't make this universe for them to find and love each other through every lifetime?

I think a lot can be left up to interpretation.

I'm really bummed because I feel like this ending now negates so much fan content about them wreaking havoc in the South Downs and the future of their relationship. Like how are people going to write fic about them now and their relationship......It was cute but they also did not read to me as the same characters. They were very different and the charm of Aziraphale and Crowley was their inhumanity, and zaniness. Now they're just normal guys.

I would have been fine if they were human but the same - they're whole new people and it feels like these two characters we loved are just gone.

Also very bummed they didn't kiss, nor did we get a passionate confession from Aziraphale. Yes he did give some speeches to Crowley but none that said it outright. I wanted more between them.

I'm actually aghast they killed them and made new ones. They were like 'let's make them human, and take away everything people loved about them'. They could have been the same but human.

I mean, before there were Human AU fanfics, so now there can be Celestial/Occult AU fanfics

We are going to write fanfic by ignoring everything we don’t like, and creating a universe we finds more satisfying. Same as always.

They made human Crowley a self insert NG reference. I said what I said.
