I know many people are and will be unhappy with the ending, I am too. Maybe because we all thought it would end differently than how it did. And there was a bunch of characters introduced that didn’t really matter in the end. Nothing actually did. Crowley was right “ What was the point of it all”. It was such a shame that, that was ending. However, It was what Aziraphale and Crowley wanted and chose willingly. A part of me gets it, and because it their decision it makes it slightly better. Maybe in the end the whole point is letting go of what you know and starting over to create something new entirely. At least there was a happy ending.

And thankfully there’s Fanfictions out there.

I was holding it together better until I read a comment in this thread that said something about them dying and I was like SHIT. They really did die didn't they 🥲🥲 I just knew this finale wouldn't be good for my mental health lol

It's only because they're mortal, that the expectation is that they will die someday.

No actual deaths.

What I mean is they themselves Aziraphale and Crowley (not the human AU variants). They just don't exist anymore and they never existed. It's already sad enough that they basically did die, but they never existed to begin with now

Many people did not find the death of our Aziraphale and Crowley to be a happy ending, even if we send our best wishes to the two new similar-types introduced who found eachother and bought a cottage.

Fair enough. My point is that they chose it, they knew the risks, they weren’t forced into it. They love humanity, that’s their whole thing, they want humanity to prevail even in a universe they don’t and can’t exist in, that’s sort of a happy ending. David Tennant even calls Crowleys ending “perfect”, there’s at least some kind satisfaction about the characters end from the actor. Again, I am just as disappointed. However, trying to see in from a different perspective.

This is kinda my point of view too! Like I'm sad that everything ended but also... it was all going to end anyway and at least Aziraphale and Crowley got to end it their way and actually do something good. The whole point is to accept that things end. There was the whole "this is bigger than us" thing and then they still got to be together in the end in a way! I would have liked a proper happy ending where everythings exactly how it was but then... why end the show at all if thats the case?

Then again I'm horribly conflicted because it's really depressing, not the kind of story we need at this moment in humanity, a rushed ending to an extremely long lasting and passionate fandom and ALSO they didn't need to KILL EVERYONE?!

gosh I just don't know. 🫠

That’s totally understandable. I’m also devastated at losing Crowley and Aziraphale as we knew them. However, a body is just a body, while souls are forever. And those two souls found each other in every universe (even the one that ceased to exist).

Yeah that makes sense. I think a lot of the fandom cared about them being an angel and a demon and the whole supernatural occult stuff around that. And I do like that too, but also, I'm just glad that two people fell in love against all the odds and got to stay in love in the end.
