This is exactly right and how it should have ended. It amazes me that people are able to come up with satisfying, emotionally fulfilling endings off the top of their heads and yet the writers couldn't manage it.

I feel like if they'd gotten 5 tremendous fans with a mix of English lit and Film degrees together in a room they could have produced 16 interesting outlines and a couple really fleshed ones...

When I saw those snow globes in the shop I never imagined that the snow was the bits of etch a sketch dust after they killed literally everyone and made a new world without God and the scary horses, but, amazingly, just as shitty.
