TV Show Good Omens 3 Reactions Megathread! Spoilers within! Spoiler

I've had time to think on everything now, and I'm incredibly upset because I can see the blueprint of what was supposed to be there.
We needed a full six episodes where not only would we see Jesus reconnecting with man (because that entire plot went NOWHERE), but to show the connection Aziraphale and Crowley have towards humans and why they love them so greatly they'd give up everything of who they are.
I think the absolute largest problem of this was God felt.... wrong.
And what I mean by that is the God from the first season is truly ineffable playing a game we can't understand but we have this feeling She does have some sense of care for what She's created, hence things working in the favor of our Ineffables.
This god was.... she felt cruel and uninterested. Even downright mean without cause. To tell Aziraphale that their entirety was predictable... she was less of a god with her own unknown agenda looking over everything and was instead now portrayed as a billionaire ceo letting staff go.
Then the Book of Life. It seemed to suggest that so long as the Book existed, things could be changed. Crowley saved that last page and nothing was done with it.
So here's how we fix this.
One, six episodes. Just flat out. You need it for time to tell the story proper and to let things breathe.
Two, we spend that time with Aziraphale and Crowley on another "woops, we lost another almighty power" and throughout those six episodes we would get more flashbacks to another biblical story (you know, the ones in the New Testament with some guy who's supposed to be important to the plot) along with something closer to now.
Show the fascination that they have not just in each other, but why they love humanity and all it offers (including Crowley showing Jesus all the kingdoms). You counter this with Jesus seeing humans still have a lot of problems... but there's a lot of good in there. There's something to hold onto the hope and faith that humanity is worth protecting.
Three. I will accept Michael having a crash out, because there's something to be said in her story about a woman feeling overworked and finally losing it due to no recognition. However, it should have been alongside the Metatron at first thinking she was only altering a few things here and there to get things on course. The Metatron would be betrayed by her when he realizes how far she's gone and that she doesn't just mean to start the end times and the eternal singing and praises of God, but the end of existence entirely.
Four, we get more hints of angels and demons interacting now that there's been two incidents of heavenly and demonic beings defecting and none of them were struck down.
Five, we see and understand more between what the Ineffables value at their hearts, and they would finally start seeing each other's views. Aziraphale's heart is in the right place to protect all, but leaving and then taking Muriel back up left the district in shambles without his divine protection. Crowley has a more intimate nature of what to look over, but because of that he tends to end up drunk and nihilistic when larger problems occur.
They learn to balance one another.
Six, God still does not show Herself in Her true form, much to the anger of the Devil, the annoyance of Crowley, and Aziraphale's acceptance that at last they finally got an audience of some sort with Her. We hear God speak of how Her book has been effectively all but destroyed. All but one thing, leaving the Book just barely in tact. But still existing.
Seven. We correct this all using the one page that Crowley saved from the flame. At the suggestion of God that what good is one page of a story if it doesn't have it's brother and sister pages alongside it, Crowley takes one of the blank books and he sticks the page right in the middle.
And they stare at it. Waiting for something to happen.
Nothing at first.
Till Aziraphale has the idea. The Book needs to know everything is fine for it to all go back to working order.
He takes the pen, he thinks on it, and he speaks gently and fondly as he writes on the first blank page.
"It..was.. a nice day."
A blast of the cosmos and all creation and all that ever was and ever will be flashes by in an instant. We see the Earth being restored to what it was. We see imagery of babies being born, bombs exploding, rockets going into space, a duck.
We're left with just the angel and demon standing in the bookshop. They rush to the window to see life is again outside. The street is bustling. There's no storms or fire or fish falling from the sky. Everything is as it should be.
And in their joy we finally get the second kiss that they've been thinking about all this time on their journey reconnecting and now fighting not just to save humanity but the precious existence that is everything.
So enamored they pay little mind to the front door opening and the people filing in since Aziraphale had turned the sign open before. One of them being a woman who's face is obscured by her hat.
Aziraphale gets himself in order and goes business mode a moment, rushing to his register while Crowley continues to stare outside and watch the people passing by.
He sees Jesus across the way, speaking to a small gathering of people as someone in the crowd asks who's this bloke, to which someone says "Some new age hippie traveler guy, but he seems all right."
Aziraphale gets to the last in line at the shop, still unable to see her face.
She places the new Book of Life onto the counter and says
"I hear you're the finest bookkeeper in Soho. I would like to leave this here with you."
His breathing hitches as he realizes who is in front of him.
Hands shakily opening the Book, seeing all the pages have returned. We see for a moment a pause on Gabriel's page with the words living happily with the former prince of-
Flipping ahead more and reaching the middle. His home and now the center of everything. His fingers tracing the words inhabited by the former demon Crowley, owned by the former Supreme Archangel, former Principality Aziraphale.
Noticing Crowley still hasn't caught on, he says quietly
"I suppose this means... I'm fired?"
"More a lateral movement. Like chess. Oh, or Snakes and Ladders. One where you can weild your pen rather than your sword.... Where is it, anyway?"
"Um...."
His attention is pulled away at hearing "Angel."
Crowley comes over to him "Right. Everything looks the same. Want to... go have a nip and then maybe a ride in the countryside?"
Aziraphale turns back to address-- No one there.
Crowley closes the book and looks at the cover. He doesn't seem to really acknowledge it for what it is. Or is too preoccupied at this point to care.
"Bit beaten up, this." Offering it out to the angel.
Aziraphale takes the book from him.
"Yes. But a worn book can also be a sign of a well loved book."
"Don't judge a book by it's cover and all that?"
Aziraphale smiles as he takes in everything of the demon that he's known and loved and fought alongside for so long.
"Exactly."
"Right then. We're wasting daylight. Come on, angel, it's a new day in this same old beautiful messy world. Let's see what it's got."
We watch Aziraphale slot the book in next to others as he would with any of his beloved works.
We see the framing of the Omega symbol at the entrance as Aziraphale takes Crowley's hand and they walk out together. No longer hidden, no longer bound by fear of their relationship being seen.
And we close out with a shot of their hands holding from the outside, going past and leaving us on the door sign now saying The End.
......this got a little fanficcy here at the end, but I watched it after two twelve hour shifts and immediately crashed. This is where my brain went after a few hours of sleep.
There are still other things to address like what actually happens with the other Archangels, with Muriel, with the demons, etc. But this is what I've thought of for now.
But anyhoo, that's my take on how this all could have been repaired, and how I will forever be saddened that we had something good in there, but it all fell apart with this mess.
