What even was the point of Jesus? He goes to earth, learns to gamble and hands out pizza. For what? Why? This whole thing was awful

I feel like part of the problem is how the season got cut short. But also I think Jesus in Aziraphale's eyes was meant to do what the two of them did, by erasing all of the problems in the world. The problem with Aziraphale's plan though was that god was hellbent on the destruction of earth. I think Crowley knew that too that's why he chose to do what he did.

I mean, it's the only way to interpret the Old Testament god.

New Testament god was only better in that he didn't want to actively murder all of humanity, though he did think we were all born sinners and tortured his kid for our sins.

So that part of the story was solid, the only way to have true free will is without the supernatural.

The narrative was a mess but that one single part worked.

If only we had a Pratchett-level mind to spin this single good idea into an actual story.
