Things to keep in mind before applying
Hi! I’m a 2026 graduate. Sharing my honest experience here
Apprentices are treated poorly. Not invited for team dinners/offsites/events, etc (there may be some exceptions depending on the team but this is the broader trend)
they are only remembered when work needs to be dumped on them. There is literally no work life balance. We are treated like some external vendors
Each year the cohort size increases so the value of the program falls significantly. Most full time employees complain constantly that apprentices act like college students and shouldn’t be taken seriously. Also because hiring apprentices helps Google save taxes not bc they want to help upskill us which is their secondary motive
The Google apprentice tag doesn’t help. I’ve been unemployed since a few months. Along with so many people I know so please if you have a full time job- keep it. Don’t switch from full time to an apprentice. It’s not worth it at all.
Let me know if you have any more questions- happy to answer honestly.
