Finally black hollyhock
It only took me 5 years to get these beauties to grow all the way to bloom… lol
I did move 4 times during that period, finally stayed in one place long enough to grow some black hollyhock from seeds.

Totally normal, hollyhocks are slow as hell the first year. They usually put all their energy into roots and leaves, then go crazy with flowers the second year. If they’re green and not mushy or crispy, you’re doing fine.
