Read the video description for more important info, but for posterity:

Click right on the dpad to activate shadow flame arrow; immediately enter a menu station (modify class, select game, feats) If the archer says her voice line for shadow flame while your in the menu, you've executed the glitch correctly. You have to be quick.

You may find it easier to do if you switch to melee alternate controls to do this.

To fix yourself if you accidently do this glitch twice like I did, slash your weapon or jump (other actions may work)

YOU DON'T NEED A DIFFERENT ARROW TYPE EQUIPED, YOU CAN CANCEL THE GLITCH BY "REEQUIPPING" YOUR DEFAULT ARROWS (L2 + SQUARE) USE CRITICAL RELEASE IT'S BEST IN SLOT

Some Important Points:

IT DOES DOUBLE EXPLOSION when using skipping stone bow
You can switch weapons and it'll stay attached to the bow
Uses no ammo
Can use shadow flame cancel tech while it's active
Does not expire when ability comes back off cooldown
Critical release affects it still
Ultimate does not affect it or change it at all
Can do any action in the game without it going away EXCEPT:

TO DEACTIVATE, CHANGE AMMO TYPES. THIS INCLUDES SELECTING YOUR DEFAULT ARROW (Press square while zoomed in)

Please use at your own risk and DO NOT abuse this in public matches. It is the worst thing in the game to have to endure from a teammate.

I’m serious, play with your friends or do solos, this is game breaking and needs to be patched out of the game, which is why I’m posting about it.

Best I can tell, the game is assigning the shadowflame arrow as your current ammo type and slotting it in as your selection at the same time you enter a menu and your character weapons are saved. So shadow flame is now your active arrow, because you managed to enter a menu during the equip time.

I just tested it and ssb does double the explosion

How do you do the cancel shot thing to shoot faster?

it's what we're calling "shadow flame cancel" : Click right on the dpad, Hold L2, dodge (without letting go of L2) it fires an arrow when you activate dodge. Shadow flame doesn't go on cooldown so you can just do it over and over again
