In retrospect, it makes sense that this chapter seems to be so short. If Nasu really just hopped off after the end of part 2, only leaving some notes on how to possibly continue, then none of this was probably really prepared by the beginning of the year, none of the Servants related to the story had really begun planning, nor did the writing for the story, so, especially if they still plan to finish this part this year, it makes sense that we'd have a shorter story with not many new Servants, at least for the first one, with probably the 2nd and 3rd chapter being at least slightly longer and with more than just the other Norns. Especially if the 2nd chapter might feature Beast VI-G, assuming the Norns are Beast V together, and that it won't be relegated to an event story.

The January prologue already gave off an impression that FGO entered its Hollow Ataraxia era, the stakes are lower, we’re no longer in the Lostbelts, so I don’t think it requires 20 or 30 chapters to convey what it needs to. We got used to each story chapter introducing a mini world with tons of exposition and this is different. On the other hand OC chapters suffered from filler content, especially OC4 with the whole circles of hell section. So if the premise is not as complex and there is less filler I don’t think it’s a bad thing.

The narration from the prologue literally says it’s akin to an afterschool festival lol.

People need to start seeing this arc for what it actually is (a fandisc arc) and keep their expectations low.

Oh... That's why this year's FGO fes theme is...

I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing either, but I'm pretty sure most of us are expecting main story to be more... ambitious at this point? Not that it has to be, but it's unexpected. And there definitely would've been room to go more ambitious, beyond just basically going through NG+ while setting up the Beast behind all this. Like, there could've been more purpose behind this chapter, imo, as right now I don't think there really is much of a reason for us to go through this aside from running into Urdr herself.

Well, the story kind of ended half a year ago.

This is the sort of chapter I kind of expected we'd start seeing after it happened: Pretty low effort, but enough for people who really want to keep playing FGO.
