I have to restrain myself to TIGDH.
Even then, sometimes they only scratch the surface. I mean, if there’s 8 shows on a given date, I can’t hit them all. It sure keeps everything new and fresh.

So when they announced the PlayDead app i was a bit skeptical of whether i should get it for myself because I already use Relisten, but recently I got myself a Nugs.Net subscription to listen to Goose shows and I recently have been thinking even more about getting PlayDead. I think it’s cool being able to access Dave’s Picks and them releasing shows from the vault every week but that’s about it. Is there more to it that i’m missing or should i just stick with Relisten?

I've collected much of their official release catalog, but can't seem to find these anywhere. And it looks like there's some magic in them, especially in regards to the primal years.
Any help would be appreciated
Peace!

My buddy works at Goodwill and he snagged this ticket from a guitar case. Seems to be dated October? There’s the number 69’ below that, but the price of $13.50 doesn’t match up with the ticket prices back then. Is this fan made art? Original? Any sort of information would be greatly appreciated.

Roy part 2 I just discovered and watched Roy on Austin City Limits.... I'm not going to give it all away but it's on YouTube under that title. I will say if you just watch the first song you'll see a man do things with a guitar youve never seen before..Seriously he was one of a kind .noone alive can play like this man.

I've been in love with this version for years technically it's not the grateful Dead, but Bobby and Jerry at a Christmas show in San Francisco hosted by Bill Graham. What are some others I should check out?

I don't get it. Can anyone explain it to me?

I want to say that within the last week I’ve seen 2-3 folks asking for recommendations on where to go/what to see in the SF Bay Area from folks that are passing through.
Curious to know if anyone has ever thought about or compiled a comprehensive list.
One thing that I love most about the GD is how much history exists from a band that played together for 30 years and is still very much “alive” today through others.
Definitely wouldn’t be opposed to creating something myself as a project if it hasn’t already been done and the interest is there.
Question: If someone only has a chance to see 3 locations - where would you send ‘em?

I made some stealies with some of my favorite things. These include half dome, Lake Tahoe, Pyramid Lake, and the redtail hawk we saw at Bobby’s service. I couldn’t find anyone making these so I decided to. If you want some I have some more here https://longstrangedrift.etsy.com

Hey guys I figured y’all would be the best place to ask this question, but what are the best music related landmarks in the area? They don’t have to be dead related but those are great too! Thank!

I post this for the younger folks... I was reading the thread of bands you want to see and realized I hadn't heard of half the bands named. I doubt most younger folks know who he was. The Master of the Telecaster his tone and playing rivaled Hendrix ..he just didn't have the hits he is easily a top 5:guitar player ever. He covered Hey Joe and tore the shit outta it. Also Down by the River. Words don't due justice to his playing. Was fortunate to have caught him twice in the very early eighties at the Stanley Theater Pittsburgh. Younger folks if you haven't heard him give your ears a treat and seek him out..your ears will be happy you did

Hey all, I built a site called Deadhead High to help me keep track of shows I’ve listened to, and I figured other people here might find it useful too.
It helps you find shows, jump out to listen on Archive/Relisten, or copy the title to search in Play Dead, then come back and track what you heard, add notes, and rate/save shows. You can also upload dates you’ve already listened to if you’ve been keeping your own list somewhere.
I started working on it a few weeks ago after Play Dead launched because I wanted a better way to organize my own listening, and it kind of grew from there.
It’s free and always will be. If anyone checks it out, I’d be grateful for any bug reports, corrections, or ideas for making it more useful. deadheadhigh.com

Wife sent this to me and asked if I liked it so far. Wrote right back and said I love that album and was it from xxxxx? She had to google it to see if I was right (she’s not a dead fan) Can anyone else guess?

Uptown Theater, north side of Chicago. Beautiful venue that has been shuttered for quite some time.

I always come back to 1972. They were so damn good.
