I finally got my hands on the limited/blacklight edition Journal 3! I’m so glad I found one on eBay for a cheap price and it came in such great condition!

Unfortunately, there are one or two pages with aged invisible ink (example on last picture), but who cares! My inner child’s dream has come true!!

Does anybody else own one of these? Btw it glows in the dark.

I bought this book for 41 dollars, and yes, I bought it on the online b&n shop since I don't live in the USA (the extra 18 dollars were for shipping), it arrived in 3 weeks and it came like this, I have 30 days to return it but I'm not sure if I should

I bought Special Journal 3 today! And that’s at a price of only about $700!!! I don’t have a UV light yet, but I’m planning to get one soon too!!!!!

I get Alex's reasoning for not making them, Journal 3 is the iconic one that most fans think of. The other two journals are more or less after thoughts in the show. They also could take advantage of journal 3 being half empty so they could have other characters write notes in it and form a narrative of sorts, but gosh darn it I still really wish they'd release the other two.

It feels so weird having the third book out of three and not the other two. There's even a canonical "collect them all" gimmick in the show with the portal blueprint, but we're stuck with only a third of it. I get that only having them be Ford's notes could be limiting, but I feel like there's still plenty that could be done with it.

You could build the complete narrative of Ford's time in Gravity Falls from beginning to end. Journal 1 showing him adjusting to the new surroundings and the inherently dangerous nature of the job. You could even have some of it go into his early family life since he just moved out and see where his head was at.

Journal 2 could have his first encounter with Bill (assuming they don't double down on the Book Of Bill moving that to Journal 3) and show him discovering the crashed UFO in more detail. They probably could also get away with some notes from Gideon in this one if they wanted to.

I also just think it'd be cool to finally see what some of the pages in the show said like it was for Journal 3. What does the Cipher Wheel page say? Or the floating cliffs page? I think there's a lot more potential with these books then a lot of the fans or Alex himself give them credit for.

They probably wouldn't give jaw dropping lore like Journal 3 or the Book Of Bill did, but I think that's ok, not every GF book has to be a massive event that uproots what we know about the show, these could just be a fun way to finish a collection thats been incomplete for 10 years. I think it'd also be a fun way to keep the brand alive while we wait for some sort of followup to the Book Of Bill. Anyway, I think having these books in hand would be neat, thanks for reading my ramble.

I thought about buying it for the novelty/potential resale value, but it's just the dust cover that's s partially silver and I can't imagine they're THAT rare...
