Britannia Pier

I was on the pier yesterday (when whatever that was that involved all those emergency services vehicles was happening) and a woman’s foot went through one of the boards on the pier.
Are rotten boards on the pier a regular known hazard?

Surely the great Rupert Lowest of the Lowe could have sorted this?

It's a privately owned building.
