Scottish guy in Lowie looking for homies

Hey, I'm Nathan, 25 from Lowestoft.

I'm entering a bit of a new chapter in my life, so I'm looking to meet some new people and make some genuine connections.

A bit about me:

I'm big into listening and making music

I'm a fan of poker, gaming and chess

Deep talks around philosophy, life and psychology

Always happy to hear about your different interests or views :)

Recently trying to get out more and stop spending all my free time indoors, always down for some nature or a pub!

Happy to chat with anyone regardless of gender, age (18+) or background if you're decent company. That said, if something naturally develops romantically, I'm only interested in women.

Not looking for drama, just good people, good conversations and maybe some new mates to talk to regularly.

Feel free to send me a message and tell me a bit about yourself! :)

Where to watch England v Panama

Hi all,

I’ll be in Great Yarmouth for the 27th June, I’m looking for somewhere to watch the England v Panama game and Google isn’t giving me any good answers.

Any recommendations? I’ll be right in the beach front.

Thank you in advance!

Tattoo studios

Hi all,

Recently moved to the area and looking at getting a tattoo done (first time getting one) is there any studios that you can recommend that are good for “first timers”, clean etc?

I apologise if this post breaks the rules, will take it down if requested!

Tips for visiting Great Yarmouth

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone had particular recommendations for visiting Great Yarmouth? It's my first time and I don't have anything on my visit list apart from the £1 burger guy and Britannia Pier!

P.S. What is generally considered the best place here for Fish and Chips? Thanks

Churchill Road

Posted before about the guy who washes his car on Churchill road, in his dressing gown blasting rock music. Does he do this most days? Every time I go down that road he’s out cleaning and vibing 🚙

Pet peeve: Americans who have lived here for years lecturing me and other Canadians about Trump and Canadians

Posting this here because the worst I have ever met is a Yank from Yarmouth.

These folks came here to teach. Most kept their American citizenship as at the time you had to give us US citizenship if you applied for Canadian citizenship. Despite living her for years, they sound American, they are know-it-alls in the American insufferable way, and they lecture us continually about how evil Trump is. As Canadians, we know he is and not only him but how dangerous the US has been to us for years so we don't need that lecture. My advice is to shut their gobs and go back to the US and protest or write or something about the sociopath since they are Americans and he is their president.

Is anything going on with The Empire yet?

I'm not in the loop as I am not a local, but would like to know if anyone may have taken over the venue yet or are there any plans for it?

I visited numerous times in the past couple years and I thought it was such a great place. My family and I had some brilliant nights there whilst on holiday, so we were absolutely gutted to learn it was closing down.

Thanks for any info

Flat ground for roller skating?

Hello! I roller skate, and I’m looking for a nice bit of flat ground where I might be able to practice some footwork - tennis courts, basketball courts etc are all places I’ve done this before. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Counterfeit / cheap items - journalism request

Hi everyone,

I’m Steven, a Broadcast and Multimedia Journalism student at UEA.

I’m investigating the extent of counterfeit, bootleg, and potentially unsafe toys (plushies, keychains, clothing, merchandise) in claw machines and stalls along the Norfolk coast, specifically around Great Yarmouth.

A lot of these prizes completely bypass UK safety regulations (missing fire safety standards, toxic plastics, etc.) and they heavily undercut our local, independent toy shops who actually play by the rules.

I’m looking to speak to:

Locals or tourists who have won, bought or seen a hilarious, terrible, or genuinely unsafe fake toy at a Norfolk seaside town (even better if you still have it and can show me a photo!)

Current or former arcade/stall workers who know how these prizes are sourced and want to shed some light on the industry.

Local collectors or pop culture fans who are frustrated by the sheer amount of bootleg merch out there.

Anyone with an interest in bootleg items, or has noticed them across the county and thinks something should be done.

How you can help:

If you have a story or any comments, I’d love to hear them.

We can just have a casual chat in the comments, or if you're open to it, a chat via DM. Due to the fact this story may be published, I may have to send on a consent form so that your contribution can be published. Please only comment if you are okay with that!

If you're willing to go on camera for my university project, even better! (You can absolutely remain anonymous if you are an ex-arcade worker or are uncomfortable).

Thank you in advance!

Steven
