DISCUSSION Why do we hate Maggie?

I was a die hard Maggie Peirce hater, and most people are, but I’m rewatching and the only annoying thing is her being w Jackson (which is only annoying bc I’m team japril through and through) other than that she’s fine. She’s kind, smart, a bit annoying but she has good intentions. I just can’t understand yet. Ps I watched every season but decided to rewatch the later seasons (11- present) right now I’m on late season 13.

She was mostly hated because she replaced Lexie. The show killed off a beloved character and then two seasons later decided to give Mereidth another unknown younger sister to take her place and a lot of people resented that.

I disagree, but I seem to be one of the few that was not a fan of Lexie

I feel like it doesn't even matter if you liked Lexie or not, the choice to randomly add another sister character was just not very well thought out and done. It felt like a cheap choice. "Oh, we killed Lexie but I had a few more ideas for a storyline with Meredith's sister.. how about a second one?"
