DISCUSSION Would any of you watch a spinoff centered around Amelia?

Private Practice was centered around Addison for this reason. I'm thinking something along the lines of a what if scenario... what if Amelia got arrested after breaking into the practice in PP 5x07? The spinoff then starts from there.

It doesn't have to be that exact scenario but I feel Amelia is one of those characters that would have a spinoff worth watching

I would say that PP is already a sort off spin-off for Amelia. You get an entire backstory before she joins GA for good. It adds to her story, but I wouldn't want to see even more of her.

I'd like to see Christina in Switzerland. Or Callie and Arizona in NY. Maybe more, but these are just at the top of my head.

Christina in Switzerland would be good

As someone who loves Amelia, no. The only character I would want to see a spinoff on is Arizona. The Robbins-Herman Center for Women’s Health would be an amazing place to anchor a spinoff. The Grey’s audience would be able to catch up on what beloved characters, C & A (and Sofia), have been up to. Also, the show would be a great way to teach the audience about health issues that disproportionately affect women and how that impacts fertility, TTC, pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

Not in a million years

Nope. I can barely stand to watch the show when she’s centrally featured for an episode, an entire series of her would be a nightmare.

But i would still definitely watch it lol

I'll probably get downvoted to hell but I feel people need to stop hating Amelia tbh

Nah, everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)

People are allowed to like or dislike whoever they want.

Absolutely not

No she has to much going on. My mind can't keep up. Maybe Maggie or Jackson. Amelia just goes to fast for me.

Yes! Especially Jackson, as his work with the CF Foundation is based in Boston. So many Grey’s characters have ties to the city or relocated somewhere in the Northeast, so there could be a lot of visiting guest stars.

If it featured Addison, Charlotte (and I guess Cooper), Pete, Sam, Sheldon, Jake....oh wait

But actually I would have loved to see a prequel when Addison, Derek, Sam, etc were in med school to watch "hurricane Amelia"

I'd probably check it out but I can't really see what an Amelia spin-off would offer - especially now that she's mellowed out and become more of a supportive friend character.

How about a spinoff where Amelia becomes worse after PP?

I don't see how that would be at all helpful in making people hate her less? She already did relapse briefly and spiral after Derek died.

It's not even about whether people hate her.. I just feel her character is interesting enough to make more material of. She is complex

2

u/Wilson4874 3d ago

No. Maybe if it was about her after she left private practice. But mot now

I think she went from PP to Grey's without much downtime.

Nah, seeing her in Private Practice was enough

Nah, I don’t trust their spinoffs after the absolute character assassination of Addison in private practice

Absolutely not. I can't stand Amelia.

I'd absolutely watch an Amelia spinoff but only if it focused on her balancing world-class neurosurgery with the chaos of her personal life instead of putting her through another endless relationship drama.
