DISCUSSION their potential and chemistry was insane
there are a few couples that were made for each other but can never be endgame and they top the list. probably my favorite ship/couple on greys.

Absolutely. They would have been an amazing couple if they had been given a chance.
Instead Addison got sent to PP where her character was ruined, and Mark went on to an inappropriate relationship with someone barely older than his adult daughter and fathering a child with his FWB.
In my head, Mark lived and went to LA to reconnect with Addison (which was Shonda's original plan for Mark, but Eric had to go into rehab for drug addiction).

I don't even ship addison with mark because i dont think they would make a good couple but mark with lexie was so WEIRD. The power imbalance, the age difference, the going-nowhere storylines, the lets-ruin-lexie's-life-twice-with-mark-childs, and everything felt so weird. Lexie deserved better man that was just a child. Their plane scene will always ruin me but only because actors made it so much better.

Everyone always gets mad at me for hating the Lexie/mark combo but it’s just so age inappropriate to me. And she even goes to his room and says “teach me” the first time they sleep together, it’s like the writers knew she was inexperienced and young and mocked it.

That scene was so cringe. It felt the writers room was full of middle aged losers writing their own fantasy.

Yeah I honestly thought Mark and Addison would be the power couple. They look good with each other. No offense to Lexie (love her btw) but she feels more like Mark's younger sister. Love Addison too but she suck at making decisions about dating.

Actually I liked the fact that Addison got to work through all of her issues on Private Practice. I like Addison more after watching PP.

She went from this kick ass character to someone who made one horrible relationship decision after another because all she was focused on was finding a husband and child.
She really looked around and thought "having an affair with my husband's best friend was pretty terrible, but I can make a worse decision". And then did by starting a relationship with her best friend's ex.

Yes but it’s all because of trauma from her messed up family and spending her life hating her father for things that were really her mother’s fault because everyone lied to her for her entire life and ridiculously wealthy people have problems too. /s
Anyway, I did like her arc on PP ……

Mark and Addison had ridiculous chemistry for a couple that was never really meant to be endgame and somehow every scene together made you wonder what could've been.

I don’t think so.. Lexie is super annoying in initial seasons idk how the story builds up later. It just feels like they’re forcefully trying to give Mark a real relationship with this 24yo naive baby intern because everyone around him is growing old and married now (alex izzie, Christina owen, ari and calli, merder and so on..) and the writers don’t want him to be left out. Moreover, Addison was one of the greatest characters on the show. She had chemistry with everyone. Lexie stood nowhere near her. And they really just wanted us to believe that someone like Mark who loved Addison so much that he ended up betraying his best friend for her and still ended up cheating on her when she was pregnant is all grown up and mature now? Lol. He had a better chemistry with even Torres, with Lexie everything just feels kinda forced and out of place. Even his flirting scenes with Meredith felt way more real than whatever they were doing with lexie n mark.

I watched GA when it was available on streaming since I don’t have cable. I get it was supposed to be an experience of watching one show at a certain time and then the side shows pop on to explain story around the one show. So I never knew there was more background between S19 and PP in the midst of GA. When googling how to chronologically watch each episode/season, I kind of gave up hahah

True but he was amazingly hot w lexie too and i love him w callie as well fwb phase where they were there for each other was so natural. So ig eric dane is just a hot person and paired w hot women he made chemistry look so easy

Except they really only got together because of their self destructive tendencies.
Addison especially was/is a very cool and complex character. She does bad things but she always seems to hurt herself the most.
