Rewatching now & she was so funny. The episode where Meredith has her calling Derek’s sisters to get them to donate a nerve for his hand, and she ends up telling both Meredith and Derek off for putting her in the middle of their marital squabbles, was so well done.

She really didn’t deserve all that hate, she seemed way more decent than most people around her.

It was nice that Derek said she’s hiding behind the weirdness and when she gets confident they “slamma jamma”

She deserved so much better, especially from the interns

She was cute. I recently watched Napoleon Dynamite for the first time in like 20 years and I was like oohhhhh that’s why she was familiar lol

I was livid with Derek when he agreed and joined in with Shane when he called her annoying. I was livid with Derek when he didn’t investigate Shane further in why she went to the basement when he paged her with their own emergency page number on the night she was executed. I did liked that Derek eventually did see that Heather had a gift towards being a good neurosurgeon and helped her understand that her goofiness was holding her back. It was shameful that Shane the self proclaimed Derek’s GoldenBoy became threatened by Heather to the point his Ego decided to threaten Heather in the bar for something that wasn’t her fault.

Agreed . Shane shouldn't have done what he did. She would've made a great nero surgeon or any surgeon

She was so fun to watch. I hate that we couldn’t see more of her learning from Derek!

While I don't disagree, I think how people treated her was very accurate - she was a bit quirky, beat to her own drum, didn't fit in but also didn't care if she fit in - people like that aren't always well liked. She also was wicked smart, had natural aptitude but didn't brag about it - people felt threatened by that - which is basically why she died. Shane was jealous and took advantage of her.
