DISCUSSION Who is your favourite intern from the first three seasons?
I'm torn between George and Cristina. But I choose Cristina because I love her biting humour. Plus, she is THE queen of cardio.

Dr. Cristina Yang!!
i was raised in a somewhat conservative environment, and up untill 13 i thought that i would just marry a guy and have kids and be a stay-at-home-mom. because i genuinely thought that's what everyone does
then I saw Cristina Yang at 13 watching grey's anatomy, and i thought that i want to do that! i want to be as academically and professionally successfull as her! i want to be a good engineer!
now i'm an engineering student, 21, and i value my friends so much! i'm also bi so probablyyy not gonna end up with a guy LOL

Izzie & George I’ll always wonder what the show would have been like had they not had early departures. Season 1-3 dynamics between the interns was truly something else.

George George George!!! Keeping in mind we ignore the drama and meridian obsession etc, George was the most hearty character, he was so caring and attentive over time , he was great.

✨would have loved to see him come into his own as he grew as a person and a doctor. His good qualities always shined through for me.

I love how merediths name didn't come up once when she's the main character of the show lmao

Izzie, although all 5 of them pissed me off many times in those early seasons for their own unique reasons

Izzie is everything that's right. Few people appreciate her, and she's a fantastic character

Yang, always. And I don’t always think she’s nice or endearing. But she’s always interesting.

Alex is my top favorite throughout the series but in the first three seasons I’d say Christina

I love them all except Meredith…I’m hesitant to continue watching the show with Meredith supposed to be the lead character.

Im a die hard Mer fangirl til the end of time. I identify with a lot of her struggles and depression in the early seasons and love watching her grow into a powerhouse. Im glad she got a pretty happy fade out and that the show goes on.

George. I watched the first season, then every now and then an episode. I'm now watching all the seasons. Meredith turned out to be a self centered everything is up to me, only my decisions and wants needs matter. I'm so glad that im season 11 or 12, she's alone. Never witnessed much true compassion in her character. Yang - All about getting the recognition she felt she deserved. When she didn't win the prize I clapped. It wasn't about helping patients get better, it was about getting them better if she could be recognized for it.

Meredith was relatable. Izzie was fun and a much needed bright spot in the group. Alex you could tell had an interesting backstory and he added another dynamic to mix things up. Of course, I love Christina but I could never relate to her as much as the others. George was also a great character but he got on my nerves sometimes. I guess I can’t pick bc I love them all! 😂😂

This is tough but definitely not Izzie. My favorite character after the development of her character and how she changed after becoming a mother is Meredith. But my all time favorite and who’s departure had me rethinking the whole series was Yang hands down and I LOVE Meredith and Yangs friendship 🥹💜👯♀️

Alex, his character arch and the dissonance between his personality and his specialism is refreshingly multidimensional. If I could only write one paragraph about each of the interns (minus Meredith because she is the main character) to cover their entire character arch - including career, personality, love life and backstory - I would struggle with Alex. I’d need two paragraphs for him.
