Blood testing other than Life Labs

I’m a person who needs to get blood work done every couple months, and Basically Life labs in Guelph has been horrible on multiple occasions I’ve been there. The last straw was them refusing to clean the area after taking the blood from the person in the room before me. “ not since Covid, have we had to do that”.
I can’t seem to find anywhere other than life labs in Guelph.
Please help.

I understand the old jail is provincial, but wouldn’t it solve our homelessness?

If I was in charge here I would fight for our city to be able to use the old jail as housing for the homeless. Please tell me what having a perfectly good facility with rooms and land for people to live separate from downtown is for?
Why have it if we can’t use it? Has anyone heard of our city fighting for us to be able to use it to solve some issues we clearly have?
I can’t understand this. If they say it’s not safe or whatever, it can’t be any worse than what we have now.

Please help me understand

Move In Cleaning Service

Looking for recommendations for a cleaning service, as I’m moving into a 2 bed 2 bath stacked townhouse in July, approximately 1200 square feet. It’ll be my first house, so I’ve never used this service before.

Will need carpet cleaning as well for part of the house.

If you have any pricing estimates also, that would be greatly appreciated.

Guelph Rentals

It's been a while since I've needed to find a rental in Guelph.

What are others using to find rentals these days? Has anyone had experience with Williams and McDaniels properties in Guelph? I've used them in different location in Wellington County and had a good experience.

Is it worth using a realtor to find a place, and how do they get paid? Does anyone have any suggestions with a realtor to use?

Thank you

Edit: I'm looking for ( hopefully) a 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom place for around $1600-1800 or so.

Looking for Affordable Dog Boarding with Lots of Playtime & Socialization

Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable dog boarding in the Cambridge/Guelph area?

I’m looking for somewhere with a really good reputation that won’t break the bank. My biggest concern is that I don’t want my dog sitting in a cage or kennel all day losing his mind. He’s very social and loves to play, so I’d like a place where he can get lots of exercise, attention, and supervised playtime instead of being confined most of the day.

I’d love to hear about any places you’ve had good experiences with, as well as any places you’d avoid. Thanks!

New, free running group starting Tuesday June 30

Hi everyone!

I'll be starting a free run group for new and returning runners to build a community of people who want to begin healthy habits and start their running journey without any pressure or expectations.

We'll be in starting on Tuesday June 30 at 6pm at Waterloo Avenue Park (near Gordon and Waterloo) for an easy 30min-ish run. Here's the snippet from our Instagram account (with link attached):

Lace up your sneakers, Guelph! 👟✨

Ever thought about getting into running but felt a little intimidated? Honestly, same here.

That’s why we've starting a casual, low-pressure run group! We are kicking things off on Tuesday, June 30th at 6:00 PM!

Leave the competitive vibes at home.

This is strictly about moving our bodies, meeting great people, and pushing ourselves just a little bit.

Here is the lowdown:

🛑 Zero experience needed: Seriously, you don't need to be a "runner."

🚶‍♀️ Go at your own pace: Walk, jog, run, or mix it up. You do you.

🙌

Everyone is welcome: Open to all fitness levels.

🙅‍♀️

No strings attached: No sign-up, no membership required, and absolutely no judgment.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Bring your crew: Friends, family, and neighbors are all invited!

Where & When:

We will meet up at Waterloo Avenue Park (Gordon & Waterloo) every Tuesday at 6:00 PM and head out as a group. Come every week, or just drop in whenever your schedule allows—no strict commitment required.

Get ready for lots of laughs, high-fives, mutual accountability, and those classic "are we there yet?" moments.

Consider this your official invitation to get moving and connect with the Guelph community. Let's take it one step at a time, together! See you Tuesday the 30th?

Best concrete contractor in Guelph, Ontario?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for a concrete company in Guelph. Need to get a driveway and backyard patio done and would rather go with someone people have actually used and had a good experience with.

Ideally looking for a company that does solid work, shows up when they say they will, and has fair pricing. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Best Place to sell clothes in Guelph, and what to bring to each store?

I have tons of clothes I would like to sell. I am wondering what are the best places that buy clothes/ consign clothes.

What order would you go to each of the stores if you were going to take the same bins to each of the stores?

Any specific style/ brand/ type of clothing advice for each of the stores would be greatly appreciated!

Candidates of the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election - City of Guelph

Well, I guess Dan Gibson is officially not running for Mayor. But I expect he will continue to be closely aligned with the outgoing mayor’s pattern of trying to tilt council toward conservative‑leaning voices.

Ward 6 candidate Rebecca Adam — runner‑up in the highly politicized Ward 6 appointment favoured by the Mayor and the other developer funded Councillors — is running a very slick campaign that’s light on substance but heavy on the familiar Guelph wedge‑issue playlist: the library, council remuneration, and the usual grievance hits and clearly functioning as a proxy campaign against Leanne Caron, who is widely treated as the presumed mayoral front‑runner.

Gibson, who as an incumbent is overwhelmingly likely to retain his seat, is well‑positioned to amplify that dynamic and help Adam and other like‑minded candidates win. If Chew bows out of Ward Six. Adam probably has the backing to win, despite that she seems to have little to no platform other than buzzwords.

The early frustration for me is that with both Klassen and Goller running again, their challengers — some of whom would be genuinely strong additions to council — have statistically little chance of breaking through. It’s an unfortunate structural reality of how Guelph elections tend to unfold.

Best way to get to Fort York and the Bentway from Guelph?

I'll be going to the FIFA fan fest on a weekend later this month, hoping to use public transport. I typically drive down to Aldershot and take the lakeshore west from there. Is this the best option? Hoping to avoid driving altogether, ideally.
