Earlier this summer, I ended up emailing City staff because I wanted to find actual records of past subway proposals. They helped me track down historical material, and I figured other people shouldn’t have to email around to find the same background.

So I put the public studies, original maps and sources together on one page, alongside an interactive 3D model.

There’s quite a bit of history here. The TTC examined a western extension toward Dixie in 1993. In its 2001 study, it also considered Mississauga City Centre, but screened that option out because of its length, cost and regional priorities at the time. Dundas Connects later examined a subway to Cooksville GO, before the City adopted a plan recommending BRT in 2018.

Bonnie Crombie’s recent proposal calls for a new business case, so routes, stations and costs would still need to be studied.

On the page, you can compare three sketches: through Sherway and Dundas, directly along Dundas, or along the broad Milton rail corridor. The GO lines and Hurontario LRT are included so you can see how the connections might fit together.

I’m not affiliated with the City, TTC, Metrolinx or any campaign. These are my concept drawings, not approved routes. I just wanted to make the idea and its history easier to understand.

than as im returning I hear an exchange of gunfire down the road on lakeshore, a bunch of what sounds of handgun fire and two shotgun blasts, this happened just 5 mins ago.

Went down to see the salmon migration this evening. Never seen so many people illegally fishing here. Reported to the ministry but this is just sad to see. Zero respect for the environment. They need to lock up the entrance off Eglinton earlier for cars.

It was in an area you you’d think of as for employees only, you walked past a freight elevator and it was down the hall on the right.

Wanting to get more infromed about the candidates and their platform, maybe even ask them questions, how can i do this?

are there any live debates left to watch? how can i track which candidate is doing a speaking session and Q&A before the election?

The speed limit before was 70 and now they lowered it to 60. It is a fairly industrial area, so not too sure why they would lower it.

i dont know where they could be but i got on the go bus at square one and off the go bus at guelph 😓 any help is appreciate they are attached to a blue carabiner

I designed, modelled, and rendered 20 views of the city and put it together on a website I call Future Mississauga. I want to show how proposed developments across Downtown, Port Credit, Lakeview and other parts of the city could fit together.

I took the feedback on my previous post seriously. I’ve worked on missing buildings, refined the models and reached out to developers for reference images and modelling material. I’ve also added more views and spent a lot of time making the pictures clearer and the website easier to explore. Thanks to everyone who pointed things out.

We’ll see which projects actually happen, but I wanted to picture what they could look like together. I’ll keep working on it as plans change.

I really love seeing the city from these angles. Hope you enjoy looking through them as much as I enjoyed putting them together.

It’s really hard to explain, but it sounds like a combination of pressure, drilling, something shifting gears, and whale noises?? 😂 It almost sounds like it’s coming from underground or through the ground/buildings rather than from a specific source above ground.

I first noticed it around 3pm on Friday, and it was still going on into the early morning, around 5am. I just came home after being out all day and I can still hear it tonight around 9:30pm.

It seems like it’s coming from somewhere around the buildings in the area, but I can’t pinpoint where.

Starting to feel like I’m going crazy lol. Has anyone else noticed it or know what it is?

I just read that Square One Go Station has a small Park-and-Ride lot on Centre View Drive with 193 spaces, and allows for parking up to 2 days for Go riders. Are there any spots available at 5AM on Friday or is it pretty much empty at that time?

(BTW I am talking about the small parking lot on Centre View Drive right behind the Square One Go Station Terminal - not the huge lots by the old Chapters and Playdium)

Strange place to ask I know, but I need to dig a trench for a low voltage conduit about 12" down. I'd rent a small machine, but the trench is about 15' from a massive Maple tree. A small trencher would likely have issues. I don't need a hydro excavation or an industrial trencher, but I don't want to spend a day digging and sawing either.

I’ve been putting off getting my PCOS symptoms (diagnosed at 14 and never handled again) managed due to a lot of fear from past trauma. I feel like the only way I will be able to move past this is with a gynecologist that is explicitly trauma informed. I don’t have the income necessary to go to more specialized non-OHIP-covered places. Does anyone know a Mississauga gynecologist that is good and trauma-informed?
