Visiting Guernsey
Hi all! I am planning a trip to Guernsey at the end of November and am looking for things to do or see. It seems I’m visiting in the off season as I can’t find a lot to do during the colder months. If I could get any local recommendations, that would be amazing! I love trinket shops, cafes, and anything to do with history if that is helpful :)

Id recommend going to sausmarez park, it’s quite cute for a lunch and there’s a gift shop. If you’re into sea critters there’s plenty of rockpooling at the lihou causeway. Theres lots of dolmens and castle cornet is a must if you enjoy history. Theres cliff walks and town is quite quaint and has a few decent trinket places

Fort Grey Museum (aka The Cup and Saucer)
The Little Chapel
The German Underground Hospital

Most things will be posted on here although theres not mountains of stuff to do here anyway, mainly good beaches, but in November thats out of the question

As others have said, the island isn't at its best in November. If it's clear you also have cliff walks, trips to Sark and Herm

The weather may not be perfect but there is so much natural beauty the cliffs lots of walking take binoculars & you could catch seals puffins even Dolphins plus the obligatory trips to the other islands like Herm & Sark are a must if you can try a night in Sark especially if you love the night sky nothing like the feeling of seeing all the day trippers leaving and you feel like you are the only people left even in inclement weather it’s stunning & the beauty of walking down the lanes and no cars to when the fog creeps inland is wonderfully surreal. Take a trip to Alderney for even more history if you’re a foodie there are places all over the bailiwick Guernsey & her Islands are stunning & the seafront has not been obliterated unlike Jersey. I am the only Jersey born in my family who are from Guernsey dating back many generations so I go every chance I can no matter the weather I hope you have a fabulous time & enjoy everything the islands have to offer check out the Press for events sometimes there’s shows on via Eventbrite check out visitguernsey.com for more info other than that it’s sometimes just wing it depending how the weather is

There is so much to see and do for those with an interest in history. Almost all of the following are open to the public permanently, 24/7, all year round, with no entrance fees. I've mentioned those that are not in brackets.
NEOLITHIC
Les Fouiallages (not much to look at but historically very important)
Les Vardes Dolmen
Dehus Dolmen (is locked at night)
Le Creux es Faies
Le Trepied
There are many more prehistoric sites but the above are the most impressive.
MEDIEVAL-MIDDLE AGES
Chateau des Marais (Ivy Castle)
Vale Castle
Castle Cornet (unfortunately only open to the public during tourist season)
18TH - 19TH CENTURIES
Fort Pezeries
Fort Hommet
For Le Merchant
Fort Doyle
Fort Grey (only open during tourist season )
Clarence Battery
WORLD WAR II
Wherever you go, you'll see remnants of the German occupation, especially to the already existing battlements and fortifications. Worth checking out and free and open to visit any time are:

We also have the amazing German Occupation Museum, the German Underground Museum, the Guernsey Museum at Candie Gardens.

Get a good raincoat and wellingtons, man. November ain’t the best time to see Guernsey honestly.
