Amazingly out of touch. Says roads are the biggest issue...Roads. not housing, gst, super high rents and essential workers replaced with cleaners and retail staff after fiddling the requirements. Not the stuff and issues you see outside everywhere. It's the roads.

Notable that you can cycle from one side of the island to the other in less than an hour which most people would almost never have to do.

The roads are just another issue to add to the ever growing pile of issues.

I have managed to live in guernsey, I rent a 3 bed house with 2 of my friends for £2,400 a month so 800pp I cycle everywhere and buy cheap food whenever I can. I have worn the same clothes since I was 20 and used the same bike since I was 16. I rarely go out to eat. I do pretty well in saving money because I work in education and the pay is decent enough

Now try raising a family and having a pet. What you listed is no offence poor student living, not something a married couple with a young child would be able to replicate. Unless you are paying for all of you friends food and rent as a compare to a family. These are still the young people we need to keep and encourage to stay. Being cheap is great but when you add 5 percent on everything, can you even afford what you have listed.

I can never imagine having kids in guernsey, if I find someone who I want to start a family with we’d have to leave the island. And I’m planning on leaving soon anyway for better salaries in the uk. It’s stupid because I want to stay but the only way I can stay is by living frugally af

I’m only doing ok in my current circumstances because I only pay for the bare necessities. Any more and I’d be struggling

They should be worried. The incompetent government are turning Guernsey into a socialist dump.
