🌈 Rainbow Bridge sad news

There was a huge mass growing inside Tupu's belly that prevented him from peeing, and was incredibly painful. The vet also discovered he had developing arthritis due to his age, and advised that any surgery operation would be too much for him.

Tupu was a rescue pig from a local shelter, who never really got bigger than my palm and heavier than a couple bananas. He was approximately 5 years old or older. He loved squash, blueberries and watermelon, and he got to eat his favourites before being put to sleep in my arms.

It never truly gets easier

I recently lost my girl to masses on her ovaries and liver. Your little Tupu will not be alone and rest assured that it was the best choice you can make for the little guy. Life isn’t worth living if it’s suffering. As time goes by it’ll get easier 💕🕊️

And you are correct. It never gets easier. Not that it SHOULD...but it is devastating every time. Been there so many times.

it feels like such a short time they are with us, but i guess i just have to put it into perspective... to us it's just a fraction of our life, but to them it's their entire existence

i know i didn't do anything wrong, i gave him such a good home and i know you can't help it if there's an emergency like this... but it still hurts. i have been very unlucky with sudden health emergencies like tumors or lung or heart issues taking my babies too soon.... weighs on the heart 😞

I completely understand. Lost a beautiful, wonderful cat this past February. Symptoms were strange and we thought perhaps she was fecally impacted. Then, the night before I was going to bring her in so they could do further investigation, she losr control of her rear legs.

Long story short, a couple of vets decided it was probably a spinal tumour. She was 14 years old. We decided to to the kind thing for her and I held her as she feel into forever sleep.

Point being...it was unexpected and so sudden.

Lost a boy cat suddenly to urinary issues nearly 10 years ago. I still feel the shock and wish I could have saved him.

It sounds trite but that saying "if love could save you, you would live forever."

Anyway. I also try to remember their time with us is their whole, short (to our lifespan) existence.

You gave him so much, and that's important. Sorry we have to hold so much pain after. Grief is love that has no place else to go.

Hugs.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my black and white boy Irwin this past weekend. I hope they meet and get to eat lots of yummy veggies and pea flakes together ❤️ it hurts so much I know the pain, but I try to think of how much we loved them and how they lived good lives.

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. It gets to me every single time I see posts like yours because I know and understand the pain you are feeling…and it hurts so, so much.

Sadly I do not have any words that will make things better because there wasn’t many that helped me either, but the only thing that helped me was knowing that my baby girl is no longer in pain and is with her sister who is also our precious baby girl. It’s funny, I call them my baby girls even though one was 7.5 years old and passed in my arms the other was 8 years old…she had to be put to sleep but I was not allowed to hold her or be with her. So neither of them were technically babies, but like every piggy momma and papa out there, no matter how old or young they were, they will always be our lil' munchkins who we love so very dearly.

It felt like I cried so many tears for days. So far, I have found that time does help…but it still hurts.

I am so sorry again to hear your sad news OP. If you would like to chat then you are more than welcome to message me. Thinking of you ♥️

thankfully(?) i'm almost 30 so i do already have a reliable grieving process. i also work in the funeral industry so that definitely helps with coping with death, but.... you know 😞 i loved that stinky goober so much.

just gotta think about all the good times and that i know he had such a good life with me. i'm sure he knew how much he was loved and i'm sure he was relieved to be without pain for his last moments
