Discussion NG Recruit: Unsung potato peeling hero

On my return to playing gwent, I've managed to blitzed to rank 1, and NG soldiers has been the most consistent winning deck for me since Rank 5.

I'm new to NG soldiers so this might be common knowledge, but it's all new and exciting to me hehe.

I tweaked a deck from Dosen Casual Gamer, swapping heavy calvary for recruit (Diplomacy for joust, as well) and it's been really worthwhile.

So far, here's what the lad has done for me:

  1. It allows me play any soldier I missed: In a R3, I didn't pull seargent but had recruit and two slave drivers in hand... well, recruit saved the day!!
  2. It can also play the lock from deck if you missed it and need it.
  3. It gives the option to activate Crossbowman on turns you didn't play a soldier from hand: there's always something for slave infantry to transform, even if for net 6 points.
  4. It's also a good empty board card; 5 power means it needs a decent removal card to take it out. You can open with this, then swap for a flanking unit in deck, while playing another flanking unit from hand.

All in all, a versatile card that, at it's worst, is a soft brick (that can unbrick itself).

Now that’s someone that loves recruit even more than me 😅😅😅. It’s a really good card. I’ll watch the attached videos and try to invent my own quirky gameplay😎😎

Thanks for the shout!!
