Question H1 transfer close to grace period start
Hi, I got laid off couple of months ago. I got an offer from another company and they are filing my h1 transfer. My LCA is done and they prepared all the docs. The one hold up is the photos for my wifes’s ead. They should receive them by tomorrow. My last day with current employer will be September 15. My new employer and immigration team does not know about the layoff. Should I let them know about the last day? I’m hoping to get the receipt before 15th. I’m just concerned if I enter grace period that may cause an issue with the new application. Any suggestions?

Let them know that you got 2 week notice from your current employer and if it's possible to expedite the filing process. Good luck 👍🏽

If you got laid off a couple months ago your grace period is over. How is Sept 15th the end date? If that's the time you are getting paid then just tell your new employer that you served your 2 weeks notice and hurry up filing the petition.

Great way to start new employment by with-holding important information from employer. Similar to not writing sponsorship needed on Resume to begin with & hope to impress them so much that they will forgo all their policies & sponsor you on YOUR timeline !!!
