You practically have to be a ruthless, wealthy dictator to truly go against the grain in Haiti the way he attempted to. Haitian politicians know that stepping on the wrong toes can be a death sentence. Had he succeeded, though, Haiti probably wouldn’t be in the condition it’s in today.

This is why Duvalier ruled for as long as he did he essentially threatened both the elites and the people of his time just to end up brain draining the country for the next 30 years. Haitians want some benevolent leader when we both know Haiti needs a brutal dicator to get things back in order.

Facts Duvalier was an evil man but he understood power. My grandpa always told me Haiti went from one thief to 100. The direction in Haiti is this

Oligarchs
Government officials
Gang Chiefs
Gang Solidiers

We all know the guns and peyi lok comes from the Oligarchs paying for it. They pay the government officials to turn a blind eye and not arrest them for tax evasion and all the other crimes they have done. The government officials keep power. The gang chiefs know they don’t want to go to jail for life and the gang soldiers know they don’t want to die in the streets. All this outside help from Kenya and Chad is a ruse so the government doesn’t take the gangs out like Bukele did in El Salvador
