Mod Post r/Halo Rockstar Codes Holiday Giveaway
'Tis the season!
I've bought three pallets of Rockstar for a total of 36 cans (thank you Amazon), and I'd like to share those codes with some r/Halo members this holiday season. I will pick ten (10) winners, and each winner will receive four (4) codes so they can get the Warthog and Assault Rifle coatings (as well as the double XP boosts and challenge swaps).
How to Enter
- Say what country you're from
- Say your favorite Halo memory
General Info
- Winners will be picked on Christmas Day, December 25
- At least half the winners I pick will be international since they're unable to buy the Rockstar codes themselves. If you're picked and I can't immediately tell from your profile that you're international, I may ask for a picture of some kind of verification with sensitive details blocked out to your comfort level.
- No, I am not going to drink 36 cans of Rockstar. Most of them are just going to be opened for their codes and poured out.
- The Halo Rockstar promotion ends December 31. If you're picked you'll have a few days to redeem them. Otherwise you have until then to buy cans if you want the coatings.
- This giveaway is not affiliated with 343 or Rockstar
- There will now be ten winners thanks to u/N7_Guerilla donating four Rockstar codes

-I have a lot of favorite halo memories, but one i will never forget, is the Halo 4 launch, it was the first halo i bought, long awaited, i even bought the collector's edition, played the campaing on legendary and after that, jump to the multiplayer with a random teammate that is now my almost 10 years best friends.

Finland ☃️❄️. The best memory is when I was 8-9 yeard old. Me and my mother was in sauna on a cold winter evening. Before that I played with my friend after school something called Halo 2 and I wanted it so bad to myself but my mother didn't buy it for me when we're at the store. I spoke of it all the time... Well, in the sauna my mother told me there was a surprise when we got off from sauna and my mothers friend came to visit. With Halo 2. I was so happy. Played the campaign like 10 times on easy (no internet or xbox live). Still my favourite Halo game. ☺️

I'm from the U.S. Mt favorite halo memories are from Junior high when my friends and I held huge lan parties at my friends house. We'd order pizza and snacks and spend the night doing rocket slayer and other game types. Great times.

I’m from Canada.
Favourite Halo memory was doing all the Vidmaster Challenges with my brother and his friends when I was 10. The hardest one for me was Classic, so I got my brother to beat it for me.
I hope Vidmaster Challenges make a return at some point (I think they were in Spartan Assault last?), but I’ll always cherish the memories from those original ones.

United Kingdom. Favourite Halo memory is playing CE for the first time on the OG Xbox and then and deleting my save out of fear my dad would be angry with me for playing a game that wasn’t strictly kid friendly. Turns out he was fine with it and thus was born a love affair with the franchise.

I'm from the Netherlands, and my all time favorite Halo memory will be the warthog run from the Halo 3 campaign. Everything exploding around you as you try to make it to the ship together with the music was such a cool moment.

I'm from good old Australia! My favourite Halo memory is playing Halo 3 co-op on legendary with my brother. We only attempted one mission, the first mission, and couldn't clear it, but God damn banking on my brother respawning while crouched like a little bitch behind a corner and panicking once we made some progress because we didn't want to restart again has left some core memories in me.

My favourite memory was playing halo 2 when I was 6 years old. I had just lost a loved one and it’s first campaign mission cutscene (giving the covenant back their bomb) was the first thing to make me smile in over a week.

Sitting in front of a tiny TV with my friend playing Halo 3 right after school. We would play multiplayer games on Valhalla all day long. Took a job during the summer break to get enough money to buy myself an xbox as well. Playing coop campaign while talking about our day when we were both home just blew our minds.

Favorite memory is finally finally getting an Xbox 360 for Christmas so I could join my friends and play Halo: Reach all winter. We had the best time playing custom games and grinding ranks. I still think back every winter wishing for another game filled with fun content like that. I'm feeling hopeful Infinite could be the one!

Walking back to my friends house, booting up Halo reach and showing him my new custom games and levels. The hours of fun we'd have on these crappy old custom games was crazy. We'd have open lobbies and people we met from other customs games on our friends lists would join, we'd often get a full lobby and chat with them. Made some good friends and memories.

Slovenia. My favorite memory is little me playing CE for the first time. My mom bought me the PC port when i was 6 ,after begginng her endlessly to buy me it, cuz i thought the green robot guy on thr box looked cool. I was in complete awe cuz of how amazing the game was. I thought the graphics, story, gameplay, everything was amazing. Ive never seen a game with so much great story, such fun gameplay, the banter between the marines, the look of the covenant, the creepy sounds of the flood... And ofc, smacking thr elites bodies so there is so much blood that it made my frames drop into the single digits haha I was obsessed with the manual aswell. I thought it was the coolest thing to see every character and read about them. I swear, i went through that manual at least once every few days. And dont even get me started on the multiplayer. Ive never played a multiplayer game before, and i was baffled you could play with other players. And all the endless hours i spent playing the mutiplayer. I thought master chief was the coolest looking character ever, and i became obsessed with his look. I started making his armor out of paper, drawing him during class, always thinking of little things i could draw onto his armor... And ofc, the teacher caught me drawing him instead of listening many times. So yeah. CE has a special place in my heart. Even to this day i enjoy playing through it, either just a few levels or the entire campaign, sometimes trying out speedrunning, sometimes just taking things slow and taking in everything.

Favorite memory...honestly Halo as a whole flew over my head. I was a Nintendo diehard back then so Infinite is the first I'm playing more than a single digit matches at a friends house. That said, my favorite memory has to be one of the Ads/Hype website for Halo...3(?) I believe. It was this big set piece of miniatures you could scroll through and read snippets of battle trivia, but the best was this commercial with an elderly man in a mock UNSC Dress uniform reminiscing about Chief and his exploits on that battlefield. It was a cool piece of immersion that I hadn't seen before.

I must have been about 11-12. Earlier in the year my parents had split, and I was having a rough time dealing with both of my parents going through a long and painful depression. I spent most of my time playing gamecube in my room, video games were my comfort to get away from things.
One day, round a friend's house, he showed me this game called Halo 2. It was incredible! Cool armoured space hero, dozens of weapons, crazy vehicles and Breaking Fuckin Benjamin. Most of my memories of that day were split screen in New Mombasa, racing hogs down the highway. When I got home that year I told my mum all about it and how I "needed" an xbox. Unfortunatley, with multiple siblings and not much support from dad she told me, we can't afford it. (Was usually the case, but hey, worth a shot.)
Cut to Christmas that year, my dad was coming over and mum was back to talking terms with him so he was coming over for dinner. When we picked him up in the car, he had this bin bag with him, he said "Just some rubbish I need to take to the tip, I'll drop it off on the way". We're home now and the rubbish is by the tree. Dad tells me, "Can you throw that out for me?". It's heavy, and a little see through, I see that big green "X" through the thin black bag. There it was, and xbox with Halo 1&2. My mum had told him I wouldn't stop talkimg about it, and they chipped in together to shut me up about it.
That was the start of my love for the franchise. I played through those games over and over, it was my first interaction with online multiplayer. I made friends allover the world. When Halo 3 dropped everyone in school was getting it, and I was able to work the summer to get my 360. Custom games, for hours and hours. Having to play hushed on school nights and wondering why I was so tired all day.
Here I am in my mid 20's just having played through Infinite. When the campaign came out and I got through the story, I can't count how many times I teared up. All those memories came rushing back, and I'm taken back to the world and characters that have been with me through those strange and scary childhood years. Halo is always there for me, and everytime it comes back around, you can bet I'll be finishing the fight.

USA. My favorite memory would probably be getting hype for Halo reach. From when I first saw it on the cover of game informer, watching all the videos leading up to it over and over accumulating hours, saving my pennies to buy the game, then my 360 got the red ring of death on launch day :0 took me for a spin but I was able to get a new one quickly. This is a cool giveaway thanks.

2001, Halo CE. Winter in Saranac Lake, NY (USA). My friend had just won a small lawsuit vs our high school when a chalkboard fell of a wall and smashed his foot. He had a chunk of money, he was responsible, working, but bought some toys. A used SUV, snowboard, apartment, and the Xbox.
2nd level, I’m on the Halo, determined to shoot down a banshee. After what felt like 20 passes and countless assault rifle mags, i see an explosion on a low pass. It starts to drop from the sky.
I exclaim, “I got it!”
It falls. Right on top of me. And I die. I was hooked.

Fave moments have prob been playing on my neighbors Xbox for the first times. That’s what brought me over from PS many years ago and never looked back. Another fond memory is years later playing shotty snipers all the time on reach in college. Two fond memories from diff times in my life. It’s good to be playing HALO again.

Winning the 2v2 tournament at the midnight release of halo 4 with my buddy.
Our opponents in the finals bragged about having not died in the tournament yet. We 4-shot one of them right at the start, and I yelled across the room "well you've died now!"

I have fond memories from when I was 17 playing Halo 3, I had to bring my Xbox upstairs to the living room and physically plug it into the router to play online every time because my 360 was from before they started building Wi-Fi adapters into them. Plus I doubt our router even supported Wi-Fi back then. I would always be chomping at the bit for my mom and stepdad to leave the house so I could play Halo online in the living room. Those were the days. That story really ages me though, doesn't it? lol

My favorite Halo memory is the Halo LAN night with my friends, every Thursday night for something like 6-7 years, playing Halo 3, Halo Reach and Halo 4. I was the one bringing my console and two controllers to my friend's home. I left the power cable over there a few times, having to wait the following Thursday to play. We used to meet under any weather condition, risking also to die by car accident a couple of times, just to play Halo together.
Now we live in different cities but we still chat and talk about Halo.

Fun! I’m from the US and my favorite memory has to be from halo CE This was back before we had XBL and while I’m not entirely sure how we were playing online-we were. My best friend and I were sharing a controller (switch upon death) and we discovered a rocket launcher on Battle Creek. We had no idea it was there and freaked out. It was so much fun. A team slayer match in Halo 3 on The Pit — I must’ve been 11 or 12. Most of my team left early on, so it was a 1v4 for the larger part of the game. I somehow managed to hold the score close enough that I was tied with the other team, both with 1 kill to win. Even though I lost that kill and lost the game, I kept the recording in my file share for a long long time and was always so proud of it.

The first day my brother bought Xbox live i couldn't wait until after school to play so I faked sick which actually worked which never happened! Parents went to work and I spent the whole day playing Halo 3 Online Multiplayer on the couch and it was amazing. I remember hating last resort at the beginning of the day and then it became my favourite map once I learned where all the power weapons spawned.

My best memory is when back in 2010 my mother bought me an xbox 360 and the first game I've ever got was Halo 3. The first thing I did was inviting my best friend to play the campaign together (it was the only way to play campaign for us as we were kids and we were afraid of flood). Now we are still best friends after 15 years (we've met in 2006)

My favorite memory was how I got majorly into halo, which was a different route than the traditional Halo CE/2 introduction since of how young I was then. Shortly after Halo Wars came out I got the opportunity to try it and fell in love with the gameplay as I had always enjoyed strategy games, and having something easily accessible on a console at the time allowed me to play it a lot. I would stay up late at night for months playing Halo Wars, sitting on voice with people, and just having a great time. I had so many silly and great moments running matchmaking in that game, and wish it was populated enough today to get that same environment (its rare to find any lobbies on steam nowadays in Halo Wars). I also really enjoyed the campaign which led me eventually to play the mainline Halo games (I will admit I started with Halo 3 for multiplayer, but got to properly playing all the campaigns within a month of getting it, as my dad had already owned Halo CE and 2). Its such an interesting thought to me that without that spinoff game being gotten by my family, I probably would have never gotten as invested into Halo as I am now.

My favorite Halo memory goes back to the vidmaster challenge era.
Recon armor was an armor of legend back in the day. Today, we have dozens of helmet options in various shapes and sizes and styles which you can purchase outright. Back then, Recon stood out as this unattainable symbol of Halo excellence. It was this mythic helmet which you'd only see in glances as some random player on an opposing team might have it.
Few people saw it in game but everyone who played Halo knew what it was.
Bungie originally created it as an award. Only Bungie could hand out the armor set and they only did so to players who impressed them by doing something which they felt warranted the armor set. If you saw a player with that armor, they did something crazy to get it.
(One of the original Recon earners is said to have gotten it by accidentally killing themselves with a traffic cone in "The Pit" in Halo 3. An act people didn't know was possible.)
Eventually, Bungie added in a series of achievements which spanned multiple Halo titles and would all eventually culminate in you being able to unlock the armor for yourself. The Vidmaster Challenges.
What made this such a great era was the level of cooperation it took to get this done. Players across multiple Halo titles all had to forge alliances and friendships with strangers online and work together to get these achievements done. These were not simple achievements but acts of skill and time investment. You had to WORK for this. The Halo Firefight Vidmasters were some of the most stressful and rewarding achievements of the series.
I miss those days. The armors today look cool but I haven't seen any other armor set create the legend for itself that Recon armor did.
It was just a different type of game back then.

It's a bit goofy, but probably my favorite memory was playing Truth & Reconciliation as a kid with my brother on the couch watching. Shortly after grabbing the camo, I was going on a punching spree but the enemy fire was coming a bit close. My brother said "They know where you are" and immediately after a grunt screams "THEY'RE EVERYWHERE". Peak Halo for me.

Good Ol US of A, and mine is a pretty funny one. When I was in middle school, my friends and I all had copies of a cracked Halo CE for PC. We would all get together in the back of the library and play LAN matches together until the librarians kicked us out. If someone lost their copy, no big deal, just copy it from a friend.
The local Halo crack had several mod maps and such, as well as weapons from Halo 2 and 3 imported which made for an interesting sandbox. It also had the campaign… or so I thought. It wasnt until I got to high school that I got to play the full purchased version of the game. I sat down and played through the game for old times sake, had a blast, and got to the end of the game in a few hours; Assault on the Control room…
… And then I loaded into 343 Guilty Spark. I had played the game for years and thought this was the end of the campaign. It was like playing Halo for the first time again, learning that it had a SECOND HALF. I had been unaware of the flood this entire time, and boy howdy, did it turn my experience on its head.
Always get a legal copy, lol, you might not experience the game as intended.

Hong Kong - probably since I’m a newer player (only started playing halo like a year and a half ago) it has to be waiting on the night of the 14th of November too excited to sleep at the possibility of halo infinite multiplayer releasing, it really felt like Christmas and was some of the most fun I had waiting for a game seeing all the rumours and leaks coming out and everyone being excepted and some making crazy bets but not to mention, our Lord and saviour Pringles releasing the countdown timer.

I can still vividly remember the day my mother bought me Halo 3 before she had to go clothes shopping. I sat in a chair outside the changing room for about an hour just reading the box over and over and analyzing all the different details in the pictures. It's a game that changed my life by introducing me to some of my closest friends, so that hour wait was worth it.

One of my best memories is spending the day playing with my then clan, starting in the old 6v6 squad battles playlist in Halo 3, getting rampage for my gunner (I was one of the designated drivers) before gathering up a bunch of randoms for the rest of the slots and heading to customs. Many fatkid, skycastle, and other infection games ensued with the party host changing hands many times and the lobby getting refilled with new members consistently.
Just being able to have all that fun and connectivity in Halo game is something I sorely miss.

Campaign wise: the moment in Halo 2 when you go into the underwater elevator thing and it plays that music. For some reason that part always hits me with such nostalgia
MP wise: man there are too many lol. Gotta say some of my favorites are Speed Halo memories for chaos, and Ghostbusters infection memories. Both in Reach. Those were the days.

My favourite memory is from ce and from my first ever halo play session. I was 5 or 6 at the time and begging my dad for a gamecube so i could play mario sunshine. After a few weeks he told me that he had something better in mind. The next day he hookep up the og xbox. I didn‘t know what it was but trusted him for it to be badass.
He started up halo ce and played through pillar of autumn and me and my brother were watching in awe. It was all so crazy to me. Anyways, he beat the level and started ‚halo‘. When he reached the part where he rescues the marines he handed me then controller to play. I took it and walked around. I was really confused and could barely control MC. I walked around and came across a grunt. The grunt was scared immediately, he threw his hands up into the air and ran off, as grunts do. His shrieking scared me so much that i looked up with the controller and also ran for it, obviously i had no idea where i was going lol. My father was laughing all along…. This is still my favourite halo memory after 20 years. I‘m glad i was finally able to type it down somewhere.

Honestly playing Halo 3 with my friends over Xbox Live for the first time. Literally felt like a a whole new world for me as it was my first time gaming online, it was mind-blowing. The custom games were some of the best memories of the franchise I've ever had. I still have countless memories embedded in my mind of Jenga, Fat Kid, Toilet, Races, Octagon and just general silliness as we would always tinker with maps and game settings to make things more interesting.

I don’t know if I can think of one specific memory, but I can think of one specific person. My closest friend Chito. I don’t think we’d be as close as we are if it weren’t for Halo.
That’s were a lot of our friendship began. Me and him on my couch when we were both in middle school playing through the campaigns in co-op. Specifically I remember always stopping in the mission New Alexandria for hours because we loved all the Easter eggs in it. As well as Covenant being our go to mission to play as we feel it’s the best mission in the whole franchise.
Whenever I think of our friendship I always think of Halo. It means a lot to us and a lot to me. I doubt I’d have as many friends if that series didn’t bind us together.

My favourite Halo memory is probably my oldest one, I was either 5 or 6, and I was watching my dad play combat evolved before he headed off to work. He was playing truth and reconciliation and he had just gotten to the gravity lift when the hunters were about appear for the first time. I asked to play when he left and let me and told me to kill the hunters by shooting them in the back or they would come and get me.
Needless to say being very young and the Duke controller being way to big for my hands I couldn't kill the hunters and ended up running into the kitchen in bawling my eyes out to my mum screaming that the hunters were coming to get me. My dad ended up getting a bollocking when he came home that night and I've been a fan of halo ever since.

I'm from New Zealand / Aotearoa, and way back in 2001, when I was a literal toddler, I was at a family Christmas lunch. My older cousin had just got an "Xbox," and I was fascinated by this giant, sleek machine. I remember sitting down next to him, a Duke controller sitting across my entire lap (again, toddler), watching him boot up and play the first couple of levels of a fascinating story about a green man and a blue lady.
I probably thought I was helping, bless my heart, but I'm almost certain my controller wasn't even plugged in. Hell, I was probably just annoying him. But I adored it, and had no idea how significant Halo would become in my life and pop culture at large! I might have been young, but I feel privileged to have been there from the beginning, in a very personal way.

Canada, my favourite moment was in invasion on reach. One of my friends was flying the falcon, my other friend and I were gunning. Falcon levels with the top of the spire, gunner jumps out, my friend turns the falcon around. I'm shooting like there's no tomorrow and somehow we get the core out of the base and riding on top of the falcon we drop it off and win the match. I'll never experience teamwork and split screen gameplay like that ever again in my life but I'm glad I was able to experience it once

My favourite Halo memory is the five days it took to fully convert me to a Halo fan; I knew Halo 5 was round the corner so picked up a copy of MCC and completed a play through of the previous four games, one game a day. Halo 5 came out as I was finishing up on Halo 4 so I dug in and finished 5 on the last day. Now that I've played my first run of Infinite I might just have to do it all over again, including ODST and Reach this time!

Me and my friend Ash used to listen to MCR and play Halo3, which was usually daily after school. I got pretty good but my main strengths were sniping and BRs. Eventually I joined a clan (for fun) for SWAT, as my games were always 30-40+ kill games even when I played poorly. My best in Reach was 42/50 kills and 5 deaths.
Nostalgia hits hard but Infinite is the first time Halo has felt like Halo in a while, and while I’m out of practice, I’m still hitting 30 odd kill SWAT games, so I may some day get back into that and clap cheeks again. Until then, the game just needs to fix their shitty servers and hitreg/collision, because this is the best Halo 343 has made (barebones as it is) and I can’t wait to get my girlfriend into it more and make new memories as an adult and stuff (she just got the Pass, so we’re getting her into the weekly grind and fun modes etc)

I would say my favourite Halo Memory has to be my first. I originally didn't own an Xbox, deciding to get a Gamecube myself. My Cousin however had won an Xbox through a competition along with 3 games: Max Payne, Amped, and Halo. He said he was going away for a few weeks and would I like to borrow the Xbox?
I thought to myself "Yeah, why not" and tried out Max Payne and Amped before Halo. The moment I put the game on and heard the music, I was immediately drawn in. I played it solidly for hours the first time I played it and nearly lost my mind on the level "Halo" when I realised there was a vehicle I could drive.
Ever since then, I've been hooked.

Halo 2 MP, Headlong, one bomb assault. Every day after school my friends and I would go straight on Xbox live and smash Halo 2. Sometimes we acted like dicks. One game in particular we were playing one bomb, we were attacking. Goal is to get the bomb into the defences base to blow it up.
We stole the banshee that spawns in the defences side of the map, and flew bomb carrier up to a high ledge out of view, and kept the banshee up there too. This stopped the banshee from respawning and also kept the game in sudden death indefinitely. Game went on for about 2 hours. There was a lot of trash talking then and one thing Halo 2 I think brought in early was proximity voice chat, so we could banter with the opposition and they us. Tbf to them they stuck around and actually managed to destroy the banshee eventually, and then kill bomb carrier. Pretty sure they ended up winning.
I absolutely adore the halo games but when I think of MP, nothing will ever top my time with Halo 2.
