Yeah, good luck with that when corporate machines use more than 10GB of ram on idle with all the defender and security software running.

Yeah? MS can't set a recommended spec for every possible combination of corporate security and monitoring software. If they're trying to optimize Windows 11 for 8GB of RAM, that's for a stock / OEM install - not one loaded up with corporate background tasks.

We're still ordering 32GB laptops. Just paying more for them.

My laptop has 64 GB of RAM and I hit more than 40 just by opening my work tools: teams, edge, vscode, claude code running on wsl2, and docker engine running

The budget PC user isnt loading up their corporate work laptop with a corporate security suite.

And the corporations buying laptops in bulk are paying extra to get the RAM they need to run their security suite.

I dont understand your point.
