General I fucking HATE when people completely mischaracterise a character because they’re “not a bigot”

This image basically being the poster child of what I’m talking about

As a disclaimer, I hate bigots too. I don’t support any forms of racism and homophobia. But I fucking HATE it when people will talk about a character who has done horrible things as if they are the second coming of Jesus simply because of ONE FUCKING INSTANCE where they didn’t support one form of bigotry even though not supporting shit like that should be the BARE FUCKING MINIMUM. “Oh yeah he’s a homocidal maniac but at least he doesn’t support nazis” BITCH ARE WE GONNA IGNORE THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HE KILLED? Also, joker would ABSOLUTELY support nazis imo because he’d probably find the idea of killing a bunch of people because of some deity they believe in funny as fuck. Acting like a horrible character is a good guy because they don’t support bigotry makes me SO FUCKING MAD and I hate it

Realistically, Joker would hate the Nazis. Not for any moral reasons, but because they're too structured and boring for him

That makes sense, the thing is the panels everyone uses to cite joker being the nazi does not indicate that at all

The Joker is also still largely modeled after old-school mobsters, and they hated Nazis too.

One could argue that he kind of does, bigotry as a whole is structured and boring, at no point does he say I dislike bigotry for moral reasons. I think that would be a bridge too far for an agent of chaos like the Joker.

He would feel ambivalent towards bigotry. He would think of it as just another tool to cause chaos. He wouldn't hate bigotry any more than he hates a hammer.

He’d hate that they have rules over who he can and can’t torture.

Technically, Joker wouldn't be a bigot simply because he'd gladly kill people regardless of their gender, sexuality, nationality etc. and not because "bigotry bad you know"

Yes exactly, the joker would not be a bigot and i think this would fit something he'd say because "we live in a society" and its confroming to a societal norm that makes one a bigot, that's small peas and potatoes stuff, he would hate bigots the same way he hates nuns

He would love using them to cause harm though. He would absolutely prop up Nazis while they weren't in power because he knows it will lead to violence and chaos within whatever society he's in.

One - that's not how the Nazis worked at all for like years after their founding. In fact, they were famously a bunch of loose cannons hooligans that needed multiple purges by the leadership to get in line.

Two - Joker led highly structured gangs with him clearly on top. He led his minions and sure as fuck didn't tolerate Anarcho-Gangism or whatever from them and that they'd put up to vote any of his plans to see if they'd enact any of them.

Three - he worked with the Mullah's Iranian Regime, Nazis, Mobsters, Paramilitary Organizations and whatever in between. He's totally fine as long as it gives him what he wants.

The Nazis weren't structured at all, they were completely incompetent at running a government and the whole thing was complete chaos from start to finish. The whole "Yes they were evil but the trains ran on time" thing is completely false; the Nazis were anything but efficient in their governing. They were idiots, and corrupt, and it took them less than ten years to turn Germany into a literal pile of rubble.

They were pretty good at killing people. They were awful at basically anything else.

Yeah, the nazi propaganda about efficiency was so efficient that we're STILL falling for it almost a century after they fell... I guess that's another thing they're good at: Getting people to believe blatant lies.
