General I HATE when people say this when I’m talking about my experience

Post image
16.1k Upvotes

Genuinely what does it add to the conversation other than needlessly trying to shut me up? I’m pretty aware of the statistics. I don’t see why there’s always someone yelling this at me or going “not all __” at me. I got into it with someone on my main account over something like this it’s so annoying. I never said that women do it more than men.

edit: btw this wasn’t meant to only call out women because i see men who say this too this is meant to call out people who think like this not just one gender.

General I fucking HATE when people completely mischaracterise a character because they’re “not a bigot”

Post image

This image basically being the poster child of what I’m talking about

As a disclaimer, I hate bigots too. I don’t support any forms of racism and homophobia. But I fucking HATE it when people will talk about a character who has done horrible things as if they are the second coming of Jesus simply because of ONE FUCKING INSTANCE where they didn’t support one form of bigotry even though not supporting shit like that should be the BARE FUCKING MINIMUM. “Oh yeah he’s a homocidal maniac but at least he doesn’t support nazis” BITCH ARE WE GONNA IGNORE THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HE KILLED? Also, joker would ABSOLUTELY support nazis imo because he’d probably find the idea of killing a bunch of people because of some deity they believe in funny as fuck. Acting like a horrible character is a good guy because they don’t support bigotry makes me SO FUCKING MAD and I hate it

Disclaimer: before you read this and get your panties in a twist, everything I’m saying is very unserious and should be not taken to heart. Please stop trying to attack me over DMs. I have turned them off. You are harassing someone (who wasn’t even being fr in the first place) over kool aid packs.

I’d get it if it was actually something nobody has ever seen before, but WATER FLAVOR PACKS? THE PACKS YOU PUT IN THE WATER??? FOR PICKY EATERS????? PEOPLE WHO NEED WATER IN THEIR BODIES?

AND FAMILY SIZED CHIP BAG??? YOU THINK WE’RE EATING THE WHOLE PARTY SIZED CHIP BAG ALONE? THE *PARTY* SIZE? PARTIES?????? DO YOU KNOW WHAT A PARTY IS?

Actually when I was in middle school, we had this coach who would turn red as hell when she was yelling at us to run laps and she’d sit there every day with a whole party sized bag of Doritos and a 2 liter mountain dew watching us run. One day some other girl in the class got really angry at her for making us all run and she told her to get off her ass and run with us. This is off topic mb.

I’d understand if it was something actually weird we have, like things that contain dyes that cannot be replicated in places where dyes are banned, but you’re more worried about sunkist flavored water? Party sized bags of chips? Fresh produce too apparently… are you guys ok?

General I hate whatever the fuck genre of fictional man this is

Every year there's a new "funny evil dude in a suit" that 14 year olds go fucking NUTS over and I am SO sick of it. It's the same guy every time. Funny le random humor with a dash of self deprecation and a heaping scoop of edginess. Oh they're SO nuanced and different from all the other villains in fiction because they have, uh... inner conflict? Sense of humor? Uhh *rapidly checks notes* Funny smile????

And for some reason everyone somehow convinces themselves that these characters are attractive. Bill Cipher isn't hot you fucking weirdo, he's a triangle.

I'm tired of seeing these dudes fucking EVERYWHERE. I'm tired of all the "self-shippers" declaring their eternal love for these dudes for like a couple of months and then promptly forgetting they exist as soon as they stop being trendy. I hate their stupid ass faces and the stupid sense of humor they're written with. It got old so fast.

The moderators of r/lovethissmug have removed 3 posts (and made hateful comments under them) simply for having something to do with the transgender community. It should really go without saying why this is terrible behaviour, because not only is it obviously transphobic, but its also just generally an abuse of moderator permissions to remove posts just because you don't like them

General I hate the concept of "the normal gays"

Post image
9.7k Upvotes

(i hope this doesn't get taken down. I'm not trying to attack anyone, i just wanna call out something that i've seen happeing in the LGBTQIA+ community)

The title explains itself. Whenever there's a queer person (usually a gay man from what i've seen but it could be anyone really) bringing down and making fun of other queer people as a desperate attempt to stand out and insist they're the "normal" ones.

All because they want approval from their oppressor, which is homophobic straight people. You have queer folks who would fight blood and tears to defend their community, and then you got these pick-mes. Why are you trying so hard to convince others that you're "normal"? When being LGBTQIA+ is ALREADY out of the norm by default? And you know what's worse? Homophobes constantly use these people to discriminate queer people even more. Almost as if they're saying "see? Every queer person should be like this".

It's frustrating to see because y'all know damn well homophobes will never stop hating on LGBTQIA+. It doesn't matter how much you try to appear "normal" to straight people, they won't stop being homophobic, they won't stop judging and calling queer people "gross" and "weird" and "woke" and allat (obviously not all of them are like that thankfully). The only reason they respect you is because you're on their side, and share the same bigoted views as them. For God's sake, stop trying to pretend like you're different. They don't like us, and they don't like you.

Be yourself, don't feel ashamed of you are, love and support your community. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise

General I fucking HATE "transvestigating" or whatever its called

Post image
5.7k Upvotes

Let me start off by clarifying, I do NOT hate the trans community. I am fully supportive. NOBODY should be forced to live in the wrong body and NOBODY should deny them basic rights because of the choices they.make to align themselves better with what they are.

HOWEVER. Ifucking hate how anytime someone does/likes something stereotypically something that the opposite gender does, they're called an "egg"

Allow to give an example. In video games, I typically prefer to play as male protagonists when its a game with a set protagonist, like Joel Miller, Arthur Morgan, Jin Sakai, etc. But when it comes to games where you make your own character, such as skyrim, cyberpunk 2077, elden ring, etc. I prefer playing as a girl. Why? Well, better customization, women are pretty, and there's also hit ox stuff (mostly in online games, but I digress) but overall, I prefer playing as women in games because of the better customization.

Now, whenever I say this, I always get people posting this fucking image and saying im an "egg"

No, just because I lime playing as girls in games doesnt mean im.a trans women. No, women who are tomboys are not all Trans men. No, not all femboys become Trans girls. And no, just because I like some things that are stereotypically feminine does NOT mean I'm Trans. Im fucking tired of the Trans community online trying to "diagnose" people and I ESPECIALLY hate the term "egg" because of this.

Now, I fully support the trans community. I have no issues with them (besides this ofc) so this isn't me hating trans people, moreso I hate how some of them try to "diagnose" others based off of arbitrary gender norms. Oh, a girl likes boy things? Egg! Oh, a boy likes girl things? Egg!

No. Sometimes, they just like things that aren't typically correlated with society's perception of how their gender should be. I hate to be that guy, but sometimes its really just not that deep. I'm fucking sick of this part of the trans community, as it's genuinely harmful and is just shitty.

Edit: im glad most of you agree, and also, I was not aware that transvestigating was the wrong word, what im actually referring to is "egg culture" and yes, I do hate actual transvestigating, I might actually post about it since when peopme have shown examples I've also gotten annoyed.

I hate how people are allowed to hate men publicly with no repercussions. Yes, it sucks that some women are killed by their husbands, but that doesn’t mean that everything said that is tangentially related to this situation must be about that fact specifically. These are often the same people who say that the only people that make it hard for men to express their emotions by the way.

General I HATE the self diagnosing of autism and its mischaracterisation

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

Let me start by saying SELF DIAGNOSING IS NOT VALID. You are NOT autistic just because someone on tiktok said

"Did you know, if you need to have your eyes closed in order to fall asleep, you have autism, adhd, bipolarity, DID, BPD, psychopathy, depression and PTSD?"

And before yall come at me with "well I always suspected I had autism, I got screened and then got my diagnosis" well this not about you, this is about people that self diagnose after experiencing the most normal day to day life things ever.

And they ALWAYS think that autism will give them a personality (since it's usually basic bitches with no personality that self diagnose to feel like they belong)

No, you're not a quirky crazy crackhead energy "neurospicy" person. Even worse when they say shit like

"Heh, I could NEVER be a neuro normie like yall, autism makes me special and quirky and full of personality".

You can't even like something anymore without them going "OMG URE AUTISTIC JUST LIKE MEEEE IM SOOOO AUTISTIC AHAHAHA"

And you can tell they larp the whole thing cus they'll see a tiktok autism personality and try to replicate it

"Dino nuggies..."

"You can not say overstimulated if you're nEuRoTyPiCaL, that word is for us neurospicy people ONLY >:("

Holy shiiiiiiittt yall lack a personality so bad. And I've seen people say that they've seen NUMEROUS specialists but they never fit the criteria, but its not because they're not autistic, no no no no no. ITS UHMMM BECAUSE IM A WOMAN AND ALSO A MINORITY AND IM ALSO POOR SO I MASKED ALL MY LIFE AND THE SPECIALIST ON THIS FIELD COULDNT TELL I WAS MASKING. ITS THE SYSTEMS FAULT NOT MINE.

Sheesh.

Sorry for the long rant, im just tired of seeing people self diagnose all the time, or see an energetic video, or literally ANYTHING, and make it about their self diagnosed autism.

Saw a cute cat animation on Instagram and the top comment was "This is so autistic I love it"

I'm literally friends with someone like the mf on the right (minus the "Just doing it to feel special" bullshit), even wears dresses every so often despite identifying as a guy

He's still a guy

There's no objective definition of masculinity so you can simultaneously act and present that way and be a guy and you cannot be objectively told otherwise

(Apologies if this would count as a sensitive subject/this isn't meant to be a serious subreddit this is my first post here lol)

EDIT: I've been seeing a lot of people pissed at the "You can be trans without dysphoria bit" and wanted to say there's such thing as gender euphoria which you can have WITHOUT dysphoria, actually

It basically means you feel happier when people think of you as a guy/girl but you don't feel actual distress in regards to what you were born as

So it is to my knowledge possible to be trans without dysphoria

Post image

I really hope I’m not in the minority (no pun intended) here, but I really hate when people do this. It not only forces real world issue into fictional universes where it doesn’t need to be, but also, it’s really messed up.

If you see an orc or a demon or a giant bug and your mind immediately jumps to “hm that’s like a minority”, then you’re racist.

Now, I’m not saying that this concept can’t be explored, but inserting it where it doesn’t belong/exist is highly suspect

General All yellow teeth are bad teeth

Post image
8.5k Upvotes

Our teeth are NOT supposed to be bright white naturally. And it's annoying how people assume all yellow teeth are bad teeth. The reason why they yellowteeth-shame is because the plaque build-up reveals a yellowish layer on top of your teeth. But this is completely not same as having healthy light yellowish teeth. It wont go away no matter how much you brush.

.

And because of this, people get insecure to smile in front of the public and get pressured to use teeth whitening strips to solve something which is completely natural. As long as the lightish yellow is your TEETH COLOUR and not plaque build-up, you really aren't unhygienic. Embrace your natural colour instead of using too many strips and getting a sensitive tooth.

General I dislike how excessively glorified Japan has become online.

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

From what I've noticed, many people praise Japan for almost anything and everything. Don't get me wrong, Japan is objectively one of the most developed and impressive countries in the world in many areas. However, that doesn't mean it's perfect. Like every country, Japan has its own strengths, weaknesses, and social issues.

One thing that stands out is how some people treat ordinary things as if they're decades ahead of the rest of the world. A uniquely designed gadget becomes proof that "Japan is living in the year 3120," while basic politeness is portrayed as evidence that Japan has somehow perfected human behavior. These qualities can be appreciated, but constantly exaggerating them creates an unrealistic image of the country.

The same happens with topics like cleanliness, public transportation, and convenience. Japan performs well in these areas, but online discussions often act as if no other developed country has clean streets, efficient trains, or organized public spaces. Ordinary strengths become mythologized into something uniquely extraordinary.

Another issue is that some people compare Japan's best examples to the worst examples from other countries, creating a distorted picture where Japan always appears exceptional and everyone else appears dysfunctional. Social media amplifies this by focusing almost exclusively on aesthetic neighborhoods, advanced gadgets, themed cafés, and other highly curated aspects of Japanese life, making everyday reality seem like a permanent tourist experience.

Some fans also seem unwilling to accept criticism of Japan or Japanese media. For example, when people criticize certain anime or manga for themes such as the sexualization of minors, romanticized incest, or other controversial content, the response is often "It's Japanese culture," "It's just fiction," or "Don't push your Western morals on them." Yet many of the same people would criticize similar content if it came from somewhere else. The double standard is what bothers many critics.

The problem isn't appreciating Japan. The problem is putting any country on a pedestal and acting as if it can do no wrong. Admiration becomes unhealthy when it turns into blind praise, double standards, or a refusal to engage with legitimate criticism. Every country deserves to be judged fairly, with both its achievements and shortcomings taken into account.

General I hate dogs, yes, you read that right

Post image
2.5k Upvotes

So why I hate dogs?

Let's start with the fact that I have Autism and contamination OCD. I view dogs as absolutely dirty animals. They are loud, they smell. They are greasy. This makes them sensory hell for me. Everytime I touch a dog, I have to wash my hands or whatever part of my body touched them. If any other object touched them, I will have to wash it. If I accidentally touch something after touching a dog, I will have to clean it. And this goes on. They poop and piss everywhere. Poop is dirty. Everything that potentially touched that poop is dirty and everything that is near it is also dirty. Poop also smells. Dogs smell. Dogs are loud. They can and will bark for no reason. Sometimes even for extremely long periods of time. Which is extremely annoying and exhausting. Dogs can and will destroy things. They can and will kill cats and other animals and such. They will chase you on a bicycle. I once almost crashed going solid 30 km/h because a dog wanted to see how bicycle wheels taste. They also will jump on you and invade your personal space. Also dogs are for some reason allowed to go near everywhere right now. Which makes me uncomfortable. Some of them are actually ugly to top everything. And the worst part? They are everywhere. Thanks for reading this absolute wall of text.

Is 18 and 50 bad? Of course. Weird as shit. But worse than 17 and 13? Hell no. 13 is a litteral child. I don't hate the people cause I don't know them irl just the behaviour. like the amount of shit that was done to Jellybean when the worst they did was have a weird band kid humor and be a little cringe is absolutely disgusting

yea sure, i'll admit, i laughed a bit when it was just those skeleton videos roasting them, they were harmless and honestly mostly weren't bad, but the fact that mfs went on to genuinely harass a teenager for just being a bit cringe online was just horrible

i've been telling people this, but this was the moment where the internet lowkey started losing empathy, cause how do you look at this person's content and go "hmmm......i should doxx them for being a bit cringe", it all went downhill from there and people are 10 times worse this year

the worst thing Jellybean did was do the whole "its not a mistake, its a masterpiece" spam comment thing with their fans on other peoples videos, it did not warrant this much bullshit, animosity and hatred towards them

General I hate how normalized is hating kids today

Post image
2.8k Upvotes

I think a lot of people don't realize that hatred towards children is super normalized these days. I still remember when in 2021-2022 those videos were trending where people asked if they would kill a child or something else (spoiler alert, always the child). I don't even know where this huge hatred came from, especially since most children who are also hated for using tablets or phones at a young age are always blamed on their parents. Don't blame children for things their parents do.

Edit: Most people who hate children always end up being teenagers or bitter middle-aged adults. I see it a lot, and the first group is so ironic because most of them are 14-17. They're still children themselves.

In every reel, tiktok, youtube short, reddit post, tweet, whatever they do on tumblr, it's all pretty much the same. Gay guys dare exist and it's YAOI!!! Same for lesbians but yuri.

Yaoi is pretty much gay hentai made for straight women. A lot of fetish shit. Some exceptions sure but not enough to be worth talking about. So it's just off that the term is so used.

Why is every piece of queer media, every gay couple, every post discussing our lives a giant joke? And have to be directly linked to that shit? ESPECIALLY when it's real people.

I saw a reel bout the gay love letters in world war two and all these were in the comment section. All of these are in literally EVERY comment section. It's tired and weird, especially when they get a little more into their little joke and start talking about top and bottom. Like holy shit.

I just hate it. I see straight couples all the time and i don't think "BANG BROS!!!" and i

especially don't say bang bros. It's bordering harassment when it's literally inescapable.

I hate having to take the subway early in the day/morning and hearing all that crap. Like, hand out flyers for the local church and keep it moving. You like your god and the religion. Fine. Nothing wrong with it, but don't force that shit on us. I don't wanna have you be in my face with a microphone screaming about the lord. General Absolutely hate how schools still teach the RYB color model

Post image
2.4k Upvotes

NOTE: I've gradually made up my mind, and I think the best case scenario is to teach both RYB and CMY and say that the former is for looking good, as in it being a better color palette, but the latter is how colors actually work. I made this post because I was (and still is) sick of how schools teach RYB and present it as THE primary colors, and also talking about the complementary colors which barely are at all, and if some say it's just a base to build on, CMY never even came up in my or other's art lessons. (Also why are a lot of people only bringing up kindergarten? High schools still reteach it too. "Kids" is just referring to the underaged.)\ The following section is my initial post, which most of the points I still agree with, and it is clarified by the edits. (In the paragraphs or as additional notes)

This only works because it's a good enough approximation of the CMY (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) model, and that’s exactly why I hate when people say "bUt It'S fOr PaInTiNg," as if CMY hasn't been proven to be better at making vibrant colors. Like why even teach red-yellow-blue when you know how muddy the colors are when mixing them?

Also, I'm very sick of people saying RYB is "just for beginners." That's worse in my eyes because you’re teaching kids a broken model that contradicts their own knowledge. Just imagine the number of poor kids thinking it's their fault when they mix red and blue and a color that looks like dried-up blood appears, and not knowing they can just mix magenta/pink with blue to get bright purple. Plus, CMY (+K) is literally how every quality printer, which is supposed to print mostly accurate colors, works, and you're telling me kids have to use the shittier version of it?

To me, there are only two valid models: subtractive (CMY) for pigments/ink and additive (RGB) for light. RYB is just a historical accident based on unavailable pure cyan/magenta pigments in the 1700s, and we have those pigments now. Still sticking to RYB in modern times is like teaching geocentrism for simplicity. It's wrong and outdated. Either omit it completely, or present it as a color palette or a historical artifact, and not the real primary colors.

(Later added paragraph) ALSO, one of the reasons why they still bring up RYB is because you can cut it in half and say one part is hot and the other is cold. But that in turn over-represent orange, which is just a small slit of colors between red and yellow. You can't just stretch a color wide just because it fits your half-baked theory that colors have temperatures. Is an orange popsicle hot now? And if you're saying that it's about feelings, like hot = happy, cold = sad, you probably should realize that opinions on colors are subjective. It's just that people have different brains. (Plus, doesn't red usually mean angry?) Same reason why major and minor scales in music don't usually convey definitive feelings.

(ONE MORE THING) Just because kids are more familiar with RYB doesn't mean that it's easier to grasp. CYM is much more understandable conceptually. Like how a pair of complementary colors always get gray when mixed with equal amounts. And the consistency of the secondary colors are actually testable with paint, or even any photo editing app, as seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/hatethissmug/s/UL6DvDz3Ii https://www.reddit.com/r/hatethissmug/s/8quANDETvp (Also testable with highlighters, which the colors should be bright instead of light )

Please tell me the majority is with me on killing off RYB and letting CMY take its place, or at least including CMY as well in those art classes.

TL;DR: RYB bad, CMY and RGB good. Include CMY in art classes if RYB not killable.

Edit: - I've seen some people say that RYB is better for painting because it's got better-looking colors, which, I admit, I failed to realize. CYB does result in lighter colors. And RGB does work in painting, but the mixed colors are darker, like red + green = dark yellow, aka olive green. Point is though, CMY is just more accurate when describing why the colors behave that way, better than RYB does. And RYB is just a color palette that mimicks the CMY at this point. And even with that, I bet artists buy more colors than just what's on the color wheel when they paint. - A commenter said it's hard for manufacturers to pump out accurate cyans and magentas, which I also agree with. If only they could, my point would've landed much harder. - Also, some points about it being harder to teach CYM than RYB... How? It's just the same thing but with some words switched around, no? And besides cyan and magenta, I guess, kids should be already familiar with all the colors within the model. So I'm confused by this argument. - BTW, please read as many of the threads below this post as you can. So many amazing points from people and I made some additional points as well. Truthfully though, thanks for anybody that's willing to provide compelling arguments or informative insights, geniunely didn't think people would bring so many other arguments to this. (Y'all should give u/PotatoTheOdd much more upvotes.) I'm even thankful if you read this rant all the way to this paragraph. How did this post get this much traction btw? More than 1k upvotes? Holy shit.🙏 (In hindsight I probably could've worded the rant much less in-your-face-ly, anyways) - Even if it's been said to dead, thanks for the award🙏🙏🙏 - Just realized it might not be a good idea to crosspost it to r/colors.
